  1. and then you mod the sh*t out of them and if they don't make parts for them, you have them made.
  2. I think it would look alot better if it were lowered. Do what you like and who cares what people think.
  3. I wouldn't be concerned about the bed at all...it's a used truck and besides I would put a spray-in bedliner in it if it were my personal truck. It is very expensive and just like all new New Body Style vehicles they sell for very close to MSRP, if not over in the very begining. As time goes on and the supply goes up, the price will go down. I was at the AJC Auto Show the other day and saw a NBS Silverado 2500 and the Duramax Diesel option was $7800 and the Allison was another $1400. That's $8200 just to have a Diesel and a automatic! A nicely equipped Crew Cab 4X4 2500 is going to run over $52K!
  4. I would hate to tally up what I have spent in extras on my truck and to see how much value has been added. Let's see... Whipple=$4800, Wheels=$500+, Exhaust=$800, Hard Tonneau=$800, DVD Entertainment=$500, Headlights=$250+, Gauges(Autometer&Escalade)=$400, Lowering=$100+, Floor Mats=$200, Window Tint=$70, Baer Brakes=$800, Ect. This is well over $9220 in extras over and beyond the factory options and it may add anywhere to $1500-$2000 max in added value to my truck. I'm sure there is a few more things that I forgot to mention. My point about the 2007 truck is that it has a lot of options and it would make a great starting point for someone to create a NBS SS Silverado considering it has the Vortex Max and the 20 in. wheel package in addition to a lot more equipment. I am by no means saying this truck is cheap, but where are you going to find another one like it. I'm not trying to sell anyone on the truck. I just wanted to bring it to other members attention. I think it is a really cool truck!
  5. I just wanted to let you guys see this truck we got in. I think it would be a great starting point to make a New Body Style (NBS) SS out of. Victory Red, factory 20's, Vortec Max, Sunroof, Entertainment, Navigation, ect. It has $7139 in options! Truck Link A few more pics
  6. It could be the real deal, unfortunately that is just too much money to risk on a new user. I might would consider it if I lived close by and could do the whole deal in person.
  7. I used to work for a guy that had a Delorean (you know, the stainless steel cars, no paint, Back To The Future) and one of the members of a Delorean car club that he was in, had his entire car polished. He kept getting tickets in the car (I don't know the charge) because he was blinding people in it. He just kept paying the tickets until they revoked his registration and they would not let him renew it until he dulled the finish.
  8. There are some clones out there that are more like a stock SS than some of the modded SSs out there. By the time you change the wheels and change/build the engine, there's not a whole lot left making it a SS. What's the big deal if it is a SS or not? There are very few componets needed to make a SS, wether it was born a SS or made into a SS. I drive a SS and I don't discriminate, I like all fast trucks!
  9. I think everyone should be eligble for the featured truck and let the members decide who the featured truck should be. If you only want SS trucks to be featured, only vote for SS trucks. There are numerous people on here that used to have SS trucks, that still participate in the forum and I would hate for them not to be eligble just because they don't have their SS anymore. All members should be eligble! Even if they drive a Ford because we all know they won't get enough votes to be featured.
  10. I bought mine new is Sept of 03 and I paid it off early, last year. My payments were $330 per month for 48 months, but I put $17K down. My last truck got totaled and was almost paid for ($2100), so I got a decent check from the insurance company. I used all of that money and put some with it for my down payment. I hate being in debt! I'm trying really hard to have my house paid off after six years.
  11. These guys stole your pictures and may be running a scam. Just Thought you might want to know. Later, Byron that's funny you caught that. this guy contacted me about building these vehicles for him so i guess we'll see what happens. it looks like he may sell a few. i hope he wasn't wating my time to do the project himself. though i really don't know if anyone besides gm could pull this off. it took me a long time and i had access to any GM thing i needed. besides the engineers. -eli koorey www.redstarperformance.com
  12. If I were to do anything custom with the paint, I would do a color change or a colored pear clear coat. It's just not the type of car you would put flames or graphics on. IMO
  13. About a year ago I saw a RCSB silverado on ebay and the guy did the exact same thing, from the interior to the awd drivetrain.
  14. Surely whoever took those pictures would have some inside information and some specs?
  15. I would be very leary of these guys. They only have 3 feedbacks and all of their pictures are pictures that they got off of the internet. The under hood pictures are of Eli Koorey's LS7 2007 Tahoe from Red Star Performance in Conyers, GA. http://www.redstarperformance.net/
  16. Put me in on the deal! I don't mind helping you with Kharma.
  17. You can here my truck . I have the same above mentioned flowmaster.
  18. Surely there is another way to run a remote wire w/o having to spend $60 on a adapter.
