  1. Is that how you got your user name?
  2. I was looking through some old videos that had saved on my computer and came across these. Some of you may have seen them and they may have been posted on this forum in the past. They are pretty good videos, so I figure they deserved to be looked at again. The videos are of a guy in Wilson, NC (Kelly) with a AWD Sierra C3, what later became the Sierra Denali. He was the first guy to have a full size gen III truck in the tens. He ran a 10.93 and if I remember correctly, later that night in Nebraska (later time zone), Pharish ran a 10.92. It's been a couple of years ago, so I may have my details off a little. The one thing that I thought was impressive, is that Kelly did it with a heavier, awd, extended cab truck with a single power adder (nitrous). One thing that may suprise most of you is he was running AWD with a TH-350 transmission. I used to talk to Kelly on the wideawakeracing forum, but it is no longer up. His track times used to be posted over at ls1tech.com before they rearranged everything, under user name C3C5. I still have his email, so if I get around to it, I will see if he is still around. If any of you know any more details about this truck or if I have stated any errors, please chime in. 1st Video 2nd Video 3rd Video

  4. I have been several times in the past, but it has been awhile. It's a lot of fun! To me the most fun is at night when the cars cruise up and down the strip at night. The 50's cars with the flame throwers are cool too.

    DTC's

This is just a guess, having so many trouble codes that are completely unrelated to one another makes me think that you may have a bad ground. I'm not sure though. Did you have a custom tune made for your truck? The black smoke is likely raw gas. Running way too rich. Your truck is probably running in closed loop or maybe even Limp Mode and it's not even looking at your MASS sensor or O2 sensors. A bad groung can be the culprit to this too. I have a whipple that I pulled off of a Hummer H2 that I'm putting on my truck. I haven't decided if I am going to use the whipple piggy back electronics or go with a custom tune and larger injectors. I think I am going to do both, use the piggy back system for now and when I get some money, do the custom tune with injectors.
  6. There are a lot of fast Escalades running around out there! http://www.lingenfelter.com/pack_suv_427h2.htm http://www.livernoismotorsports.com/n_gall...ml?gk=7&t=rides 12 sec Escalade video
  7. GM will not replace it under warranty, but it is a very common problem. I work at a dealership and we see it all the time. Call Harry at www.usspeedo.com and upgrade to a Platinum Escalade Cluster. Make sure you get the miles programmed, otherwise you will be starting back over at zero.
  8. I would love to take those parts off of your hands because I have a Whipple Supercharger that I have yet to put on and I'm sure they would work good together. It would be nice to do it all at once. My only problem is that I really can't let loose of the cash right now. I'm sure someone on here will jump on them.
  9. No, I'm sorry, I don't. Hopefully I will find some time in the very near future and put mine on my truck and post some pictures.
  10. I ordered two RH valve covers (P/N 25534398) last week. One hole for the oil fill and the other for PCV. A buddy of mine has them on his Camaro and he relocated his coil packs and he is using LT1 plug wires and I'm going to do the same. He also welded a baffle under the hole to prevent oil consumption. I recently got a Whipple supercharger and you have to swap the valve covers from left to right and I decided if I was going to pull the valve covers, I was going to upgrade them. You can get them from your local dealer or from www.gmpartsdirect.com under P/N 25534398 and P/N 25534399. They are $113.24 shipped each.
  11. let me know if you have any questions? i installed my whipple and should still remember i also removed it when i sold it! Dustyn <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Did you have a handheld Diablo programmer with your? This Hummer has one and I was wondering if it was a requirement or a option. I called diablo and they said they would unlock it for me so I can use it on my truck if I could produce a receipt from where it was purchased new. Other than that, I think I can figure most of it out on my own. I am going to have to fab. my own air intake tube from the throttle body to the air box/mass sensor.
  12. so are you saying we could get these heads and use the stock intake??? whould using the truck intake limit the gains? I have read good things about these heads but how do they compair to CNC'd stock heads??? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> yes they out flow greatly compared to other worked over heads. yes you can usethe the esclade intake and as for restrictions it would same as the truck intake on your ride now <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think he was asking if the stock SSS intake could be used, and it can't. You have to use either the new LS7 intake from the Z06 'vette, or the stock Escalde intake. These new heads have a square intake port, not the cathedral intake ports like the LS1/LS6 type, and won't match our stock intake. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The LS7 port and bolt pattern are both different than the L92 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Eli, the guy that has the LS7 2007 Tahoe is running Dynatech headers for the 5.3L and he said the headers bolted up without any problems. FYI
  13. I paid my truck off a couple of months ago. I was torn between getting heads or a supercharger or paying my truck off. I'm glad I paid the truck off because I came across a really good deal on a used supercharger!
  14. I've got the superchrger off! I just have to finish taking off the piggyback computer and wiring off. I'm not sure, but it looks like there may be additional o2 sensors or the piggyback may be tapped into the factory o2's. I still have yet to decide on what I am going to do about a stock air intake. I guess I will go over to one of the H2 forums and get a stock one. I'm sure someone has a stock one they would like to get out of their way. I'll keep you guys posted.
  15. Whipple is not very willing to help. They flat out told me it is not cost effective to try to use the H2 system. The said that the mounting hardware, pulleys and software is completely different. They said the program alone is $600 and they wouldn't write me a program w/o inspecting and servicing the used blower. They said that I would be looking at over $2000 plus what I was going to have to pay for the system in order to use it on my truck. I feel like they are just trying to sell me a new system. I have had the two trucks side by side and it looks like the only difference is the location of the stock air box. I think I am going to have to buy a stock belt tensioner and a new air intake tube for the Hummer. From what I have read, the stock whipple piggyback system is crap and so is the add on aux injectors. I think it will be better if I swap to larger injectors (block off the aux. injectors) and have a custom tune, as if I had any other supercharger running the same non-intercooler boost. I would really like some input from some other members that may have been there and done that.
  16. well, you gotta remember... most vette owners (especially 6spd ZO's) don't know how to reach there potential!! kinda hard to F'up a 5500+ pound SUV lauch... stab and steer! ~Brian <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not completely IMPOSSIBLE, but it sure seems highly unlikely...? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The zo6 Eli raced in the video is a C5 vette, not a C6. He has made two passes at Atlanta Dragway (Commerce) during the Snap-On day at the races. One was the Z06, the other against a turbo GTI. The other runs that he mentioned was at Atlanta Motor Speedway (Hampton/NASCAR) on pit road. He told me that when he dynoed the truck is made something like 420 rwhp and a amazing 620 ftlbs ot torque at the rear wheels(I could be a little off from what he said, but not by much). I think he is a very straight up guy and very honest. Not matter what, he is a hell of a Hot Rodder.
  17. I need a little bit of info from those of you running a whipple or has some knowledge about them. I have the opportunity to purchase a Whipple that is on a 2003 H2 to put on my 2003 SS. I work at a dealership and we just got a H2 in with a Whipple and my boss is willing to sell it to me as long as I am able to put the H2 back to stock. I have already contacted the original owner and he is sending me the handheld programer, so I program the H2 back to stock. Will this system bolt right onto my truck using all the H2 hardware and brackets? Will I have to take parts off of my truck in order to put the H2 back to stock? I may not be able to put the Whipple on my truck right away because I know it is going to be very time consuming to take it off of one truck and put it on my truck and I want to be prepared and minimize the downtime for both trucks. I know I'm going to have to do something about the stock air intake tube for the Hummer. Is there a inline boost pump for the Whipple? I think my best bet when installing the Whipple on my truck would to have a custom tune and 42# injectors. Do you guys agree? Just do away with the Whipple electronics and block of the two Whipple injectors? Do I install the boost pump on my truck or will the stock pump be ok with a tune and injectors. Can you guys think of somethings that I may be missing? Who should I get to write me a tune and approx. how much should I expect to pay? $$ 42# injectors? If anyone has a copy of some whipple installation instructions, that would be great. 770-363-8355 770-972-2777 fax
  18. Mine whistles too. It's normal.
  19. I guess I'm not a real poster because I did a search and saw no mention of it. If I was I would have found a topic on it.
  20. Check out this 2007 Tahoe on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1 He took a brannd new Tahoe and dropped a crate LS7 in it. I saw the truck in person at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Friday night and the truck will fly. Make sure you check out the videos too. The guy that built it is Eli Koorey and he really knows his stuff. http://s85.photobucket.com/albums/k59/eli2...¤t=dca04d68.flv
  21. Anyone with Nitrous: Where did you put your purge? I want to have it somewhere that would look badazz when I hit it...... Any ideas would be appreciated! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This is what I did.
  22. The only thing that I have had done under warranty is having the entire truck wet sanded and buffed. It looks really awesome. I have looked at a lot of GM vehicles and almost all of them including vettes have orange peel. The service manager where I bought the truck said that it was normal and that the only reason he approved it is because it is a "limited production vehicle." I took it to 2 other dealers and they where not willing to do anything about it, they said it was normal. I tell you one thing...It is as slick as glass now!
