  1. Ok, How can I figure out what all would be needed to swap in a long block w/ L92 heads ? Or, what heads can be used with the stock truck intake. Or, what intake will work with those heads and still be a bolt up situation? Looking real hard at SLP's ZL402. It's based on the lq9 block. So, I assume all of that will bolt up fine.
  2. Been reading up on this....So much info that I could be confused, but I am under the impression the L92 heads do not fit the stock truck intake. Looking around, I like the SLP ZL402 long block w/ # 51016 cam. But I really want this to be a simple deal...no intake manifold / TB ordeal. So, Can I use my factory intake with the L92 heads?
  3. I vote for AWD...I have the Hotchkiss Sways,( front and rear ), bilstein shocks and bagged in the rear. ( bags do not cross / air will not go from 1 side to the other when cornering ) I love to freak out ricers on the twisty freeway ramps etc. Like Chase said, I can easily take corners at double the posted speed.

  5. Well, this morning the tranny decided to no longer shift into 2nd gear. it's almost like it's in tow/haul mode but revs higher until shifting into 3rd. It's -5* this morning and I'm hoping that when it warms up everything will be ok. I have 110k miles, a Zippy shift kit, Volant, Magnaflow and PCM for Less Tune. I also tow a 6800# trailer about 5k miles a year. Couple questions; What would be recommended as far as cost / vendor of replacement tranny? Should it have thrown a code to indicate what is wrong? Thanks in advance for your imput.
  6. Rule of Thumb....If it's not factory, It's illegal if you piss off a cop......Or if he's just in a bad mood. Had tinted windows for 3 years, never had an issue, but 1 day a State Trooper pulled a massive U turn thru a grass / mud median and did a felony stop on me...why? tinted windows and no front license plate..

  8. I have no clue about amps etc....( in a vehicle ). So if I need a new alternator ( after 110k miles ) should I pick up a new battery too ( still orig. ) ? Not really having problems but a cold start noise ( < 30* ) I think is Alt. bearing. So the question is if I go with say a 200 amp. alternator, do I need a certian rating in the battery ? I do run a 400 amp. inverter sometimes and I do pull a trailer w/ electric brakes. sup?

  13. I don't have any mods for the purpose of running the 400a inverter. I'm hoping this is a temporary situation. I'll pay close attention to the DIC and change oil based on what it says. Thanks..
  14. For the last month or so, I 've idled the truck for 6-8 hours a day while at work. I have a laptop and printer I'm useing for the job and they suck the battery down pretty quick if I leave it off. Question is what could this be hurting other than my wallet for fuel and oil life per the DIC ?
  15. Better start gathering up all your service records to prove the vehicle has been maintained per the requirements found in the owners manual.

  17. Thanks..I'll try the recycler 1st, and if that fails....either way I'll need an upholstery shop.
  18. Anybody know if I could get a replacement for the seat cover from Chevy? Just need the seat part, the back part is still perfect.
