I am looking to get back in the truck thing, need something ASAP.. Looking to spend 19k or less and less than 40k miles would be best. Truck must be very clean, no dings/dents I am very picky. No the 14.4's were before the cam and valve spring set, never got it back to the track to see what it would do with the new cam.. Bill

Well today was the first time I have brought this truck to the track. I was pretty happy with how it turned out and got to race a few times with Jeff in his 03 Silverado SS. I ordered the LPE GT2-3 cam today for my truck and I am going to run the ls6 springs with it. My question is what else should I get, hardened pushrods??? Bill

I would say the converter is from 03, a friend had it in his truck for about 10k miles and I have had it in this truck for about 2k. I didn't pay anything for it, so not much of a big deal, but I do hate having to pull the transmission down again for the new converter to go in. Bill

Thanks guys for all your opinions, I just ordered a 3 disc 10.5" 2400-2600 PI converter. It sounds like she will work great with what I am running. The converter that crapped out is a Yank tt2600, it just won't lock up anymore and I get a code (p0894) on the highway with it.. Thanks again, Bill

I have a regular cab short bed truck, 4x4 weighing in at just over 5000 lbs. Right now I have a 2600 stall converter that is not locking up, I keep getting the p0894 code..."Transmission comp slipping" So I need a new converter, right now I am getting low 1.7 60' times and don't want to hurt that. A couple people told me that I could get away with the stock converter since I was supercharged and making more torque down low. So not to waste the money on another stall converter. So my question is would this be the right way to go, or what size stall would be? Thanks for any help as I want to change this out ASAP.. Bill

Thanks... No new converter yet, the one I am using won't lock up. I get a p0894 code everytime I take her out (Transmission comp slipping) And yes I am still using the 3.0 pulley, I am getting 8 and a half pounds out of her with that pulley so she is a keeper for now. Bill

Well, we went to the track last night and made a couple of passes. I ran a 12.43 and then a 12.44 so I was pretty happy with that. Anyway my best run looked like this; 60'......1.724 330.....5.020 1/8......7.832 MPH.....8 6.21 1000....10.316 1/4.......12.434 MPH......106.33 Here is a little video clip of that run. First off I wasn't planning on going to the track. I just filled my truck up with gas and I have the 20" SS wheels on. I try to race with about a 1/4 tank or less of gas and I like to run my 17's at the track. A few of my friends stoped by and talked me into going. I jacked up my truck and pulled my fuel lines off my gas tank. Then had one of my friends turn on the key and guess what?? It wouldn't pump any fuel out, so I put the lines back on. My 17" wheels that I like to use at the track were at my work in a storage room so I said screw it I will just go heavy. I figured with the extra fuel and the 20's that I would most likely run 12.9--to --13.0's. Anyway to get to the track I burned a 1/4 tank 0f gas on the way there so now I am at 3/4's of a tank.. My first pass was a 12.864 at 102.40.. I was happy my best run yet... My second run was; 60'........1.755 330.......5.179 1/8.......8.078 mph.. ....84.45 1000.....10.619 1/4.......12.797 mph.....103.17 Anyway the air was great and it was a very good night for racing. I wish I would have had my 17's and an 1/8th of a tank of gas because I think she would have been close to 12.5's. I am changing my transmission this afternoon and next time I go to the track I will be ready (I hope) for some 12.5's.......
