  1. Sorry to hear about your dog, its hard thing to do. I just went through this with my dog of 13yrs, I had to do the deed 6 days before Christmas day and it sucked. It's been almost 7 moths and I still think he is running to the front door to greet me when I get home, then I relize I'm just walking into a empty house. :tear:
  2. Me like, congrats dude!!! Does GM still put fake leather in the back seats?
  3. God thats ugly. For some reason I've been seeing a lot of fake Colbot's in my area the past couple weeks, I laugh when I'm sitting next to one in my REAL SS. : )
  4. Thats amazing. Guess this means you should never give up hope.
  5. I seen this on the news this morning and I think it's a little over the top. I felt sad seeing those cars getting crushed to death.
  6. Sorry about the truck, but congrats on the new house. No way on earth could I afford to buld a house at your age, so your lucky as hell with that one. If I was getting a newer/used car that I wanted to actually last and get good MPG, I would by no doubt get a Honda. They make damn good qualty cars and dont lose so much value. Please post pics of the new house, sure most here would like to see them, know I would.
  7. I didn't find that funny at all.
  8. Wow man, sorry to hear about this. Like everyone else has said, the car can be fixed but you can't. I too know how you feel about your cars being like your own kids, thats how I feel about mine as well. What happened to the drunk b$#ch? I sure hope they put her butt in jail and charged her. Can they hold her responsible for the damage done to your truck as well, even though she didn't technically hit you? Keep us posted.
  9. Thanks for the nice comments guys, and for not bashing me. Ya, the Silverado SS is not going anywhere anytime soon. And if I were to trade it in, it would be for another Chevy or GMC truck since they are the best out there.
  10. I didn't do anything, just drove it to the dealer and traded it in. Na, thats what the SSS is for
  11. Well some of you may of seen my recent post on the bad news with my little ZR2 Blazer. After thinking things over and taking the advise of many people, I decided to trade it in, and I really did need something bigger, and I was looking around for something anyways. Well I'm sad to see it go, I will really miss it. So I found myself what I really wanted in the exact color and options, and the thing only had 13025 miles on it. Heck, the original factory plastic was still covering a lot of things inside, here are some pics: and here is the old one next to the new one before I left the dealer I sure hope no one here is going to bash me for trading a Chevy in on a Toyota.
  12. Guess I have another question. When my mechanic was spinning the rear passanger side wheel showing me how it would instantly stop and hear that bang, he was only able to reproduce this when spinning the wheel in reverse and not forward. Is it possable that I may only have problems in reverse and could be fine driving it since I'm never really in reverse? Or was this just because the car was on the lift and not in real road driving conditions? And would just draining the rear end and refilling flush things out to allow me to keep driving it without having to worry about things locking up on me?
  13. After I posted this reply, I thought of something that could be causing the problems with the differential. Last week I was backing out of a parking spot and someone else behind me wasn't looking and started to back right into me. In a last section reaction, I through the car into drive while still in reverse. When I did this, I heard this lound bang coming from the rear differential, and my tires chirped real loud. When I went over to see my mechanic , he put the car back up in the air, if you spin the rear passanger side wheel real hard, it will hit a point where it will stop instantly and you hear a bang from the differential. So now I'm not sure if maybe I damanged something when I put it into drive from reverse and this damaged a clutch or plate in there or not. Other wise, it really isn't normal for the wheel to stop spinning instantly like that, is it? I wonder if I can get everything else fixed and just ignore the rear differential thing and never have any problems. I do a lot of highway driving and my mechanic said he cant tell whats wrong till he opens it up and he said there is no way to tell if something might happen while driving or not, he said it might be fine or that it could lock up.
  14. I have a 2000 ZR2 Blazer that just turned 60k miles. I've been having problems with the brakes, rumbling noises, and every once in a while I hear some kind of a banking sound coming from somewhere. Well I just got a call from my mechanic and found out the rear seals are leaking and will also need to get new brakes and rotors put on the back. He also informed me that my right rear bearings are bad, and this is the rumbling noises I keep hearing. He then proceeded to tell me that when he had it up on the left, that when turning the rear wheels a lound banging sound comes from the rear differential. He said that he will not know what this is till he opens up the rear differential and said he never heard something quit like this before. He said the rear differential could just be some of the plates need replaced, this car does have positive traction, at least I think it does. He said that he has opened up rear differentials before and wish he never had because it got to expensive to repair. Does anyone have any suggestions or have had problems like this before, and can offer any advise if its worth fixing or just trading it in on something new? I'm willing to do the seals and brake job and even the bearings, but I'm very scared about the rear differential issue. I'm just wondering if this issue is just normal with the posi traction. Think it's also worth spending money to get the dealer to look it over and see what they say for a second opinion? My mechanic has been working on cars since he could walk, he is a older person who does not cheat or lie to anyone, so I fully trust what he says. Thanks in advance on any info you can give me, I feel like I'm stuck under a bolder right now from hearing this news. It makes me even more sick when I think that I just almost traded it in last month but decided to keep it and just stash my money in the bank for a house instead.
  15. I traded in a 99 K-1500 4X4 for my SS, the truck only had 31k on it when I traded it in. I really liked that truck and hated like hell to get rid of it, but I couldn't afford the SS without the tradin. The sales guy called me 6 days latter to say they sold it, I was sad but at the same time I was shocked that they sold it so fast. I always kept that thing looking like brand new. Here is a pic of it a couple months before I traded it in: And here is a pic the day I traded my old truck keys for my new ones: I really liked that style K-1500 in the pewter, I thought they looked sharp.
  16. I think his question was more along the line of some type of a device that he can use along with the starndard locks. Like how you can use a broom handle with sliding glass doors. I know I would be interested to know of some kind of a device too, I have french doors in the back of my house, and its all isolated and wooded out there.
  17. Stolen??? I was thinking more along the lines of how long will it take till its involved in a accident.
  18. Hey, I'm sorry to ask this question on here, but the other forum I belong to is dead and no one never replies with info. Anyways, I need a part number for something on my ZR2 Blazer and I was hoping someone here who works in a dealer or bodyshop can get this for me. I have searched high and low on google to find nothing. What I need is a piece of my fender flair, its the lower part that connects to the front bumper, here is a pic of mine: If anyone can get me a part number or point me in the right direction of where I can buy this part at, would also like to find one already painted. I cant stand looking at the front in his condition right now, and it also does not look good when looking at other cars to trade up to.
  19. What in the hell is that site? I found it to be ****ing sick, I sure hope that was a typo.
  20. LOL, sorry about that, that was a typo on my part. It should of been that I was SO HAPPY that I DID take the SS to work. When I got home yesterday and seen that all over my car, I went into shock. Thank god it came off with the pressure washer, I'll wash it real good tomorrow and get my buffer out and detail the sucker. I'll have to admit, it's been nice driving the SS these past few days, I've really gotten use to it and dont want to park it now. Yesterday when I left the gym some guy in a standard silverado yelled "chevy trucks" out the window at me, I found that to be funny.
  21. Thanks for the advice. I just got back from the 'do it yourself' car wash place and kept blasting away till all the concrete was off. With the hard water jet blasting away at it, I was supprised to see it lifting right up off the paint, even though that sat on the car for several hours out in the sun. There is now a dry looking residue on the side of the car, I guess this will come off when I get around to washing it on satruday, so I hope I'm in the clear now. I am not SO HAPPY I drove the SS to work today or that would of been covered instead of my car. Dont you find it funny that when your shopping around to trading in your car, thats when everything you can think of happens to it? Peace.
  22. I read all of that as well, and good for you in taking justice into your own hands. That was a awesome story.
  23. Just as the subject says. I have concrete splattered all over the side of my car, and on the roof as well. My car was parked out front and we had a new sidewalk put down today, the concrete was not supposed to be put down till tomorrow, so thats why my car was out front and I was at work all day. All of the concrete is dried up, nice and hard. I have no idea at all how to get this off my car without doing any damage to the paint. Here are a few pics: So I need any help on getting this off without doing any damage. The sad part is that I was going to detail my car this weekend and now not sure if I can now do so. Oh, in case anyone is going to say go after the person who did the sidewalk, I cant, he is family and is a all around good person who would do anything for anyone in need.
  24. Still have my stocker, will replace with a DieHard when it is totally dead. I got a solar batter charging thing that I keep on the dash to keep things charged, so far that thing has been doing a real good job, my truck sits for days and even weeks before driving again.
