  1. I like the Eagle 026. Does anyone know if they are cast or forged?
  2. You can buy these brand new from Jegs for $200 IIRC.
  3. I have 2 keys, a DVD, a cell phone, a hook, and a mirror. I was able to open the DVD player on the laptop, but can't get the DVD into it.
  4. I work in El Segundo, not terribly far from Lomita.
  5. Congrats! 10 lbs is a big boy, wow! Is it just me, or does Big O look a little like Peter from Family Guy in that pic? J
  6. Hmmm... So you're going to spend $30,000 on a new (lesser) truck, instead of spending $1,000 on new tires and brakes (maintenance)? I don't know what issues you've had that caused the truck to be in the shop so much, but this sounds like a perfect oportunity to get bigger wheels and maybe a brake upgrade - but that's just me. Good luck with your decision, but it already sounds like you're kicking yourself/trying to talk yourself out of this. J
  7. Have you tried hooking them up to your dimmer switch? I also have the P2's and if you hook them to your dimmer, you can have them as dim as you dash lights. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They are going through the dimmer, but are still whiter at any brightness relative to the dash
  8. Congratulations, she's beautiful!!! I just went through seeing my daughter born 6 months ago, and seeing your pics instantly took me back. Not much sleep happening in that house for a little while, but very cool stuff.
  9. Judging by that driver's seat, that must have been a big little old lady
  10. I've heard the Performance Friction pads at Autozone are supposed to be good, and I think they also sell Brembo rotors in stock size. J
  11. Autometer makes a dual and tripple pillar pod for our trucks, with a cutout for the tweeter. It comes in textured black which looks ok (since there is black and grey plastic on the dash anyways), or you can paint it to match. It took a little getting used to that pillar pod being in the blind spot right there, but now it's fine. So Cal Diesel also makes a nice billet aluminum mount that goes in the overhead cubby hole, but it's kinda pricey and more work to install. As for gauges, the Autometer Phantom or Phantom II match the stock SS dash pretty nice, although my P2's are a brighter white when illuminated than the dash lights. I'm thinking about maybe replacing the stock dash lights with led's to match, or toning down the A-M's somehow... All the A-M stuff is available from Jegs, and the overhead plate can be found at Socaldiesel.com J
  12. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They are Zero rate risers.. I left all three in place, I did not do the axle over either. Im still running them as if they were stock. I also added in, the Nitro drop shocks for the rear. The back side seems to be a bit stiffer but to the point you know it feels right. The front I think I am going to change the shocks to make it a little more stiff, to match the rear. So far no vibrations, or weird sounds It's all good. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So the Nitro shocks still make it ride stiff (or stiffer) in back? Did you try it with stock shocks prior to the Nitros with the drop? I was thinking of trying Nitros to soften it up a little, and was wondering about the difference. I also read about Deutchtech (sp?) shocks on Sporttruckdircect.com, which are supposed to be very good. I was told by a friend that the stock shocks do not have progressive dampening, so as long as they aren't bottoming out I can use them while dropped with no ill effect. J
  13. I just installed this same setup. My experience is that the Bell leafs ride firmer than stock but improve handling. They had only a slight arc to them prior to installation, and now almost have a slight reverse arc. They are adjustable height wise though, as each pack comes with 3 spacers that are about 1/2" thick, made out of the same material as the leafs but only about 6" long. Depending how you arrange them (between the spring and axle or above the spring, in any combination), you can have the rear tire right at the top of wheel opening or a 3 finger gap (or any of 3 settings in between). When I first put them in, they were at the lowest setting which put me at 3/8" from the bump stops (even with the U bracket removed), so I opted to raise it up a little instead of adjusting the front torsion bars/dumping the front to match. Oh yeah, no vibration at any speed and no pinion shims. J
  14. Woops! You are correct, I wrote that backwards. 1-2 fingers in the back gap, 3-4 fingers in the front gap.
  15. Today I got the lowering components installed in my truck: 2" spindles in front, 3" Belltech leafs in the back, and now I have the dreaded reverse rake. The front has 1-2 fingers of gap between the tire and wheel opening top, and the rear has 3-4 fingers. I need opinons to decide if I should lower the front a little more by adjusting the bars, or bring the rear up a little by rearranging the spacer stackup on the leafs. I tried to post a few pics, but for some reason they won't load. J
  16. Anyone with a Tech 2 can do the relearn. Even if you have pay out of pocket for the dealership to do it, it only takes about 5-10 minutes.
  17. What wheels are these, Intros?
  18. No worries, I didn't think you were being a dick I guess I'll see how it rides with the leafs, at least they are easily reversable if I don't like it.
  19. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sorry to say your either misinformed, or wishful thinking The drop leafs are not insanely stiffer than stock, but definitely noticeably stiffer. Ride quality will suffer, that much I can gurantee you. It's not as horrible as some make it out to be, but you'll know they are there. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hmm, I was thinking (hoping) the reduced load carrying capacity of these would have meant a softer spring and ride. Guess not, huh?
  20. Those are the same stops that came with my Belltech springs. Pretty spongy, huh? So what's the consensus, do we need to change the rear shocks when dropping 3" or not? There seems to be a split on this one. Or what about installing a pair of good old fashioned air shocks, in case I need to carry something heavy?
  21. Sounds like a shift kit of some sort was installed at some point, and/or maybe servos. Stock trans in these trucks shift pretty smooth/soft.
  22. I will be installing a Belltech setup next week, that will consist of 2" drop spindles and 3" drop leaf packs. I am hoping that in addition to lowering the rear, the new leafs will soften the stock bouncy ride on some of these CA freeways. I'll report back when it's done
  23. I just received my Belltech 5952 leafs today (even though they weren't scheduled to ship until 5/25), and Kaotic is still waiting for his from what I read. Belltech's catalog shows the 5952 spring as a 3" drop though, but I'll gladly take 3.5" if they do that. I believe Bowtie70SS has these in the rear and it looks nice. J
  24. No comment <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hey wait a minute, that didn't come out right
  25. Well this is interesting; Fedex just delivered my rear Belltech leafs that were not expected until a couple more weeks at the soonest Looks like next week I'm goin' down!
