12.8* of timing isn't the cause of the lack of power though. When I dyno tuned my truck, the power pulls I made at the end of the day were with 150* IATs, 230* ECTs, 11-13* of timing and power was still over 400hp with the stock cam.
Fuel is good, spark isn't horrible (assuming it's correct), there is something else going on.
I thought stock plugs with a SC is aNot a big deal as long as they're gapped around .035" with the stock coil dwell times. With longer dwells, can increase that a bit.

I just got off the phone with magna charger and they think its a cam installation issue. maybe it wasnt lined up cpmpltetely when they it was installed. It originated since install.
Something to that effect is what I was thinking. Quite simpler than that, did you perform a crank relearn (perhaps using Steve's EFILive) when you installed the tuned PCM?
Could accidentally over-torqued rockers be an issue? Would be very easy for you to re-check them... 22 ft-lbs is all they need

09 CTS-V will definitely be added to our garage.
Come on ebay, let's see that stock, go up.

the mail order tuners are great afa everyone else is concerned, my experiance was'nt as good.
Exactly why I tune by mail the way that I do. All too often, there are mechanical variances that result in a tune that does not work well in one vehicle but works very well in others.

Only have one photo that I can think of, and it's not a very good one:
Wife's 9mm Custom Shop Sig 226.
We've also got...
Springfield XD .40
Remington 870 Express
Remington 870 Wingmaster
Mossberg 590 A1
Western Field .410
Marling 983 .22 Win. Mag
Soon to add H&K USP and a rifle or two

I am looking at a blackjack on ebay for $195, do any of you guys have one? Any comments are appreciated.
My wife and I both have the blackjack. It's a great phone. Only complaint I have is with the oversize battery they provide (comes with two). Battery life is unpredictable with it. It'll show 3 or 4 bars of power for a few days, then go from 2 bars to completely dead in a matter of a couple of hours. Problem doesn't seem to be there with the smaller battery.

can you not have a pistol grip in cali??? or is it a cheap one??
As I recall, it's legal to have a pistol grip on a pump-action shotgun, but not on a semi auto.

He's got one of my scan cables right now

Maybe I could grab a tune too depending on if you have time ??
Definitely. Once I have the times locked down, I'll let you know.

do you have a list of trucks that you will be tuning?
Nope, none yet. Just set the date for it yesterday.

when you comming down? wanna get the truck dyno'd when i put the cam in
I'm going to try and tack on another day to the next EFILive course, which will be Dec 1, I believe, so spending the day at the dyno on Dec 2...
-
hey 12's rock where did you have your truck dynoed and did justin and chp actually do the tuning
I did the dyno tuning of it (spark tuning) in Temecula. I'll be back there and have some available dyno spots in a couple of months.

well busted the trans yesterday ended up being the output shaft and took alot of stuff with it including f'ing up my brand new PI converter . so its getting sent back to get fixed and re stalled to a 3200.
on a good note i ordered the billet output shaft from ckperformance and not to mention the best price on this part but he is also sending me a part for free to test out. if your looking for a good deal on som 4l65e parts they arent a bad choice.
thanks mr. P .
Damn Chase, that sucks.

chpspecial should be able to do no problem, he worked on my tune...........mine runs real good
Don't forget the dyno time
-
Yep, I'd recommend Kushan @ Excelsior as well. He's a good guy. Scott Brown at VBDyno.com would be a good choice as well. What are your goals?
-
Definitely a fun car there. Now, if only your truck was on the rollers, that would have been a good time. Maybe next time.
After seeing the correction factor for the weather, I contacted the 383 tahoe owner and gave him the new numbers. He recalculated the d/a there and, assuming 24% driveline loss, his 383 gained 33hp over the assumed 345hp on the stock 5.7L tune.

that freaking awesome its a twin turbo by the way and did ya notice the gas prices being below $1.00 or pound or whatever they used before the euro.
They still use pounds in the UK. When I was over there in June, it was right at L0.90 for a liter of gas... L3.4 per gallon. Which works out to be just about the same as it costs in the US, we just get HOSED on the exchange rate.

Hey Art,
Interested in wrapping a few pieces for me and my soon-to-be-wife? Bring that by the dyno next week so I can check it out.

Help guys, my truck is running lean so thought i'd ask you guys whats the best way to overcome it?
I'm thinking injectors bigger ones but which are best, any plug n plays and wheres the best place to buy
i'm hoping to be racing at the end of next month and need help urgently if you guys know best way to solve problem i'd really appriciate it
all the best in advance
eamonn
How lean are we talking about here?
Next step up from the stock radix injectors are the svo 42s. It's not a plug and play swap however, you'll need to have your PCM retuned for them.
-
Looking good Art. Too bad you guys aren't doing it next Sunday when I'll be down there.
-
Also great! I notice you are running a 2.9" pulley. What tune are you running? How many full throttle 1-2 shifts have you done?
I love the power my truck has now, without the SC. I am worried I will kill the tranny when I get my Magnacharger. I probably have 100 full throttle 1-2 shifts on the truck now, and I have only driven it 9,000 miles.
What can I say, I love that 1-2 shift
Mike
Tune: Tuned myself
Couldn't begin to count the number of 1-2 WOT shifts, but it's spent a full day tuning on the dyno, towed a heavy load across the country, has had a few near-WOT 4-3 downshifts at over 100mph. Have yet to feel it slip once.

ok time to add my name to this list...over the past couple of days...i have had to sign in almost every time.
thanks guys,

Think I've had to log in 3 or 4 times today alone...
Which T-stat Do I Need?
in Engine Tech And Modification
Posted
I'm sure you're aware of this already, but wanted to throw it out there anyway. Even with a cooler stat, you'll still run close to the same temp that you run now at city speeds. Your PCM will need to be modified to lower the fan on-temps to take advantage of this. At highway speeds, you should notice it running cooler.
