  1. I ran into that same problem with my 06' and after I found the fix on mine I started checking other 06's and finding the same problem at random. Here is my thread on this. Link Bill linked me to this which has so far fixed all of them that I've worked on. My truck at the track would randomly make a full pass in normal closed loop without power enrichment or bring power enrichment in around second gear. Rarely could I get a full pass in power enrichement. Once I did the fix it has never been a problem again.

I agree that the numbers are oddly low even for a 3000 stall unlocked. Did you run the truck on the dyno in 2nd gear or 3rd? Did you run a wideband on it while it was on the dyno?

I've always suspected a torque value parameter to be partly to blame, as that is not in EFILive. Similarly, we have a timer parameter that you don't have access to. Usually zeroing one parameter or the other will solve the needs, but not always in those 06s...

  2. One other thing about your truck Mike, a very KEY thing in power output, is that you have a quirky 2006. No matter what the PE (power enrichment) settings are, half the time that you go wide open throttle, it will sit in closed loop (making considerably less power) for a second or a few seconds before richening up and increasing the ignition timing accordingly. There are times in some of your logs where it's in closed loop for the entire duration of your WOT blast. That closed loop operation and subsequent lower timing could easily cost you 30-40hp on top of your torque converter loss.

Unfortunately, there's not much to be done about it, as it only happens from time to time on random 2006 vehicles. Some will never have an issue, others have it constantly...

  3. Thats odd... with the SSS and the TBSS I've occasionally been forced to fill up at shell stations b/c there wasn't anything closer... like clockwork each time (in both vehicles) I got knocking and pinging. My dad has had the same problem in his vette... we both now flat out refuse to buy gas from the shell stations around here... Hes exclusively Chevron w/ Techron and I run Mobil 91 exclusively. Its happened far too many times over the past few years to be coincidence.

Shell's California blend is notorious for that. Your best fuel choices are Chevron or 76.

  4. All parts are from a 10k mile 07 Denali and are in great condition. Will go 50/50 on shipping with potential buyers to the lower 48.

$275 - L76/L92 Intake Manifold. Fuel Rails, Injectors, MAP and EVAP Solenoid all included. No TB.

$45 - Engine Cover, $25 if purchased with intake manifold

$200 - Complete Harness, all sensors, 6L80E plug, including battery and ground cables, junction boxes

    $30 - MAF

$900 - 6L80E with AWD T-Case and stock torque converter. Local pickup only, this thing's too heavy to ship.

    Thanks,

    Justin

  5. Hey Justin, I just mailed the PCM to you. I know I am going to get hell for this but they are OBX. Those clamps that come with them SUCK A$$. Eventually I will be replacing them but for now they will have to do. Acually they are pretty well made, went in easy no clearence issue, so not to bad. Now I have to deal with the exhaust leak.

Gotcha. And how about your muffler setup?

I'd still be careful about the pinging. Is your MAF and intake tube sealed tightly there?

  6. I got a 03 for my 06 and Zippy tuned it. I think he had a problem at first but dont no how he fixed it

For a while there, TIS (GM PCM flash service) would throw a fit when flashing an 03 PCM to an 04 or newer OS. They've since fixed this problem.

I'd be willing to be this was your issue.

  7. Everyone will probably meet up around then 11am-12pm. Reason I think this early cuz I think we are go karting after the bbq, so I'm not sure what time that place closes. But if go karting doesn't happen np here. At this point with the tuners coming out I'm not sure it will. From LAX to Thousand Oaks is gonna take you about an hour to get there just fyi. Justin, if you need someone to pick you up from LAX I'd be willing to. Just let me know! Dave are you out there lol?? :seeya:

Appreciate the offer, but I'll be getting a rental car for sure. Have a lot of miles to drive that week, I'll need it.

Flight's booked, I'm getting in at 11am. After baggage pickup and rental car pickup, I should be on the road by a little after noon.

  8. If you're in the 10.x range through the first two gears and then notice a bog in third, it could be cat converter protection kicking in, richening you up even further. Normally, you wouldn't feel this, as it would still leave you in the "optimal" AFR range for best power. However if you're starting out in the 10s, it'd drop you into the 9s and be a noticable drop.
