I am not a huge fan of open element intakes because of this reason,the temps are usually higher than with a sealed intake.IAT's climb faster with this type of intake which I do not care for!!
Even though it has a heat shield,I am willing to bet it is not sealed very well on every corner.
Of course,the IAT's will climb in the hot summer in stop and go driving.

I just wanted to say that I got the new PCM installed on Sunday, but due to work related junk, I have been really unable to try it out. Well tonight I finally took it out to see and wow, absolutely awesome. Just wanted to tell Charlie thanks again.PS - Any chance I could get a few stickers to boast and do a lil advertising for ya? If ya need any money for em, just holla. Thanks!

just to make sure,also check all your plug wires and make sure they are not in contact with the manifolds and also make sure they are pluged in good.

mine did that a while back. first time it was my tranny. when it tried to downshift to 2nd from 3rd it blew then it wouldnt go into 3rd. 2nd time i had a rear mount turbo (it was raining) sucked up water and the motor misfired and bucked my truck hard and rpms went up. sounds like a motor misfire or tranny. i dont think it could be ur cats like dan said, post the codes or go to autozone and use their code readers and the usually say what they are -

I do not touch anything but amsoil.From my lawn equipment to my vehicles,everything I use is Amsoil ONLY!!
IMO I would use 10W-30
