did you ever resolve your problem?...When i installed my kit, it called for replacing the low beam fuses for a larger fuse...
yeah i did, just replaced the drivers side fuse for a 15 amp, and left the passenger side alone (if it ain't broke don't fix it!).
thanks for all the help guys!
-
I think a larger fuse should be ok with it. Have you tried grounding it?
what part of the ballast do you ground?
here's what the ballast looks like-
By the look of that drawing, there is no ground. It looks similar to my HID kit which was a complete plug and play deal. If I were in your shoes, I would look into exchanging that kit for another to see if the kit is the problem. I definately wouldn't go pumping up fuses just so it wouldn't blow. Your asking for some type of fire hazzard.
the thing is that i tried both of the ballasts on the passenger side and they work fine and don't blow any fuses, it's just the drivers side. i'm thinking the drivers side wiring must be messed up.

TTT for any more suggestions.
Will putting a bigger fuse for the lowbeam headlights be okay for the system? Or do you think the driver side wiring might be crossed or something? Thanks guys
-
put a volt meter on them and see what kind of amperage they are pulling , maybe your fuse isnt big enough.
did you need to upgrade your low beam fuses? it's only the driver side headlight that blowin' the fuse, but the passenger side is just fine.
-
okay i'll see about changing the fuses out, thanks. bump for any other suggestions, thanks

I recently installed the HID with the Phillips Ballast and 5000K bulbs. After all was connected, both headlight worked fine and I let them 'burn-in' as suggested by leaving them on for 10 minutes. After I mounted all the hardware to finsih the installation, the driver's side headlamp fuse blew after 5 seconds being on.
To ensure that it wasn't the kit, I swapped both the bulbs and the ballasts to the passenger side and both operated normally. What makes things worse is that the driver's side operates fine with the factory bulb.
I fear that the dealership will not help me trace the problem because of the aftermarket kit, even though I know ts not the kit since it worked on the passenger side. Does anyone know where I should start looking? Anyone experience this problem before? How do I troubleshoot this?
Thanks for all replies and suggestion.

IMO, that flame job on that truck doesn't have enough "POP" to it, your paint job has more of that wow factor to it

sorry for being late on the reply, here's the link if you guy's still need it- http://myworld.ebay.com/ebaymotors/performance-curve/

does that enable them to be both on at the same time during daytime driving also?
nope... a diode is like a one way street for electricity. if you run it from you parking lamps to your drl's, your drl's will come on with your parking lamps, but your parking lamps wont come on with your drl's... if that makes any sense... it made sense in my head...
basically you're saying you could only have both lights on ONLY at night or during the day. whatever your preference is? right? thanks
-
its basically the same thing , just need another diode to go into th pin on the drl and parking light relay.
does that enable them to be both on at the same time during daytime driving also?
-
Does anyone have the How To on how mod the DRL and parking lights to go on the same time at night? Seen a couple of pics but couldn't find the How To. All I've seen is the 4 headlight mod on here. Thanks

Ya, I am probebly just going to go with the magnaflow cats. And if they are too long, he will just cut a little off the collector to make it fit. Plus, they are $114 a cat on ebay. Sounds like a good deal to me.
I am starting to like the sound with no cats though. It just sounds amazingly mean. But the cops will never leave me be, so I have to get the cats.
I went through these guys on ebay- http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MagnaFlow-H...1QQcmdZViewItem
Make them an offer instead of using "buy it now". I was able to get them down to $80 a cat. Good luck.

Found it! It's Kenna- Out of Control. checked out his Myspace profile and it was on there. Thanks Jose for the help!

Anyone know this song from this Sony PSP commercial. I've searched everywhere, maybe it might ring a tune with someone here. sounds like kenna maybe? thanks
