that is an older model, and if you can find something else, steer clear of that one. there is NO RANGE on it. I have isntalled hundreds of them and thats my number one complaint on them. go with the new SST stuff from DEI. also I can get you modules for cheep and make your install easier. and for gods sake, do NOT do it yourself if you feel at all uneasy about it

depending on which interface module that was used in your truck, when the ambient temp in the truck hits 32 degrees they will turn on the low setting. no need to worry bout it in the summer.

with all this whacking and short stroking comments I have to go make love to my truck and see if the ride smoothed out! holy PUNANI it works. 15mm ratcheting wrench and 5-10 mins is all you need. bolt under the hood and one inside stroke it a few times and the lube smooths out the ride! just like the story of my life!! ANYWAY yes it does work. all puns aside. great easy fix!!

shoot, I know you need a 10K resistor in series with 2 of the wires under the hood but not sure which ones.... Hmmm PM me and I can look at my truck and see whats up.

you could do that, but go to your local car audio shop and buy a GM side post adaptor. less than 5 bucks and you will be on your way. easy to do and i would consider it "done right".

Its the controler under the hood. about 90 bucks. go to the parts counter at your chevy dealer, they know what you need. and DO NOT buy the whole module. its double the price. yes I know this from experience.

Just to be clear, was never meant as an attack on you or your work, hope you realize that I have a great deal of respect for what you do. Only sharing my experience that I've personally had better success using the strategy of larger but fewer woofers combined with adequate amplification. I am not going to bang on MrP, but I will say my 4 8 inch mtx 5500's will hit a 137Db and sound awesome and blend extremely well with the rest of my system. as for the JLW7... listen and you decide. its your money and your ears. you know how you like your music. I did my subs this way cause I wanted to prove that smaller subs could sound good and SLAM when built right and tuner properly. MrP, you build your optimized Jl enclosure for your sub and I will bring my 4 8's optimized, and we will let an unbiased person be the judge. its about tuning, the car, the sub, the BOX, (yes a properly deadened box will help and this includes 1.5 inch walls), the music, the person listening. But I will say, your answer was very well said and explained!! Nice job!!

here is the deal, the first time it was set up they used the "RCA" jacks to go into the factory harness which inturn went to the factory bose amplifier. lower signal rating on the RCA jacks. now they are using the speaker leads to feed the factory amp and it has a higher signal which is causing your distortion and bad sound, you are overloading the bose amp. OR they have the "gains" to high on the interface and that is overloading the amp. either way go back to them and bitch up a storm and make it right!!! good luck and let us know.
