  1. and to have all those Harleys and never start them. He's not a car guy just someone with ALOT of money
  2. Woundering how the cam would work with a 408 with L92 aftermarket intake and and procharger
  3. Great deal to bad I already bought a D1SC head unit. I someone buys it from here, I would recommend House of Boost custom bracket and intercooler set up. $2600 They build the kit for the TBSS and just started building the intercooler set up for the trucks. I have like to 3rd kit made. I have pics but they will not up load I like it better than the Procharger kit that puts it on the driver side like you see. Their kit mounts it on the right side and give it, its own dedicaed 8rib belt drive. Well worth it
  4. Damn sorry to hear that. Luckily anything I sell locally is done at my repair shop. Yea there are a fwe guns and cameras. Besides I dont think anybody would f@#k with a mechanic with a 4 foot pry within reach. Been lucky with online sales and purchases. Just hope he F@$ks with the wrong person and get what he deserves
  5. I'd sell you mine and the tires have good tread, probably 10-15k left but I think shipping would crazy
  6. I do have the L92 heads but cash ran out, especialy with the G/F in school and adding an extra $1k a month so just gonna try to save to get the head CNC'ed intake and all new valve train
  7. Well last weekend i went ahead and assembled my engine and installed it. RPM crank and rods, Mahle pistons, Melling high volume pump and TFS Cam Cam link Its the cam I had in my LS1 that was in my truck while this engine was in the machine shop. The heads are my stock 317's. Everything else was already on the truck, exhaust, cold air and 80mm TB. The truck runs great and has alot of torque, still needs tuning. Have a pic of the engine block. I have more and some of the engine assemble but my Blackberry torch is F-ing up if I send a picture when it lets me the receiver get it upside down it doing a bunch of other weird crap to and this is the repalcement phone Anyways real happy with how ot runs, it feels like it runs the same as it did when I would hit the bottle if not better and that was a 150shot and ran mis to upper 12's
  8. I've been before. I may go this year. just gotta send the form in, with they would let you do it on line. I'm gonna try to get Rivercity Perfomance (all GM Car club) from Jacksonville to go
  9. I'll recheck my number but if I can remember correctly, I know the bore 4.030, stroke 4.00 and rods are 6.125, I believe the piston pin height it 1.115" and with the 72cc head would be a 11.12:1 CR and with the 65cc head its going to be 12.05:1 CR. Tuning is not a big issue as a friend has a GM tuning shop about 45min from me. Yea I agree with the others about putting it together with the L92 and stuff but right know theres not going to be money for what I need. Yea I could sell the extra parts and have tried but no hits. If I build it with what I have then I can put my LS1 back into my 85 Firebird that I took it out of to keep my truck on the road. Besides probably easier to sell the Firebird with it together The only money I would spend on a head swap is for the parts I need to put the L92 on, the labor is free when you have a repair shop Thanks for your input zippy
  10. I agree with you. The trick flow heads would be great but I would have to buy them. I have a brand new set of L92's, the stock 317's with LS6 valve springs ready to go, and the LS6 that need a valve and valve job. Yea I know the cam is small, it was a nice cam for my stock LS1. I am just thinking of ways to get it up and running, i know I'm not going to get the HP numbers. I am going to get the L92 heads done, but its going to be a while. The CR was an issue I have wondering about with the LS6 heads. I do have forged flat tops with the valve reliefs and would give me the 11.1:1 CR. I believe they have a 70cc chamber where the LS6 heads are 65cc. Yea money is real tight so its definitly a budget built right now. The labor of swapping heads is nothing when you have a complete shop but cash for parts is harder. Thanks for the input. Its always good to get some opinions.
  11. I thought about that when I was planning my engine build and considering a 427
  12. looks like a great gathering. Need something like that here in Fl.
  13. Just got my block back from machine shop last week. I have everything to build the short block. I have a set of L92 heads (one bare and one complete) that will ultimately end up on it. Money has become real tight lately. The plan was to have the heads ported and polished and a good set of valves etc. This is the engine out my truck, I chipped a piston last Nov. at the track and been running the LS1 from my Firebird thats down for other work. I want to get my Firebird running again and get the engine back in my truck. I have a set of LS6 heads and the stock heads from my truck. I have the 408 set up for 11.1:1 cr with the L92 heads. If I want to run the L92 heads I need to get the complete valve train and intake manifold for them, with what I'm wanting its probably going to be another $2500 or so. Yea money is tight The stock LQ9 heads will keep the CR still about 11:1 the LS6 heads will put it about 12:1 I was thinking of putting the stock LQ9 Heads (they have LS6 valve springs) Ihave a TFS camTFS-30602001 in my LS1 right now its not radical but better than stock, and does not require me to go thru the intake swap yet. Now I do have a full auto repair shop so doing a head swap later is no issue. The labor doesn't cost me anything bthink ut time. The only thing need toget to complete the build is gaskets Think i should build it now and do the heads swap later or just wait (dont know how long that will be)?
  14. Just wondering who here lives in or near Raleigh, NC. I'm here for the night and trying to find something to do . Visiting my older brother tomorrow. I'm old enough for anything my little brother is 18 so gotta find a place he can get into. I wont be online much but if anyone has ideas I'm open. Also is there any late night car gatherings. in Jax we get togher once in a while for some fun? You text me 386-546-4916. Much appreciated
  15. As long as you get it cleaned up its all good. I have not technically taking mine mudding but where I live there is alot of dirt roads, so it gets dirty I do clean it regularly but I live a 1/4mi down a dirt road so its a never ending process.
  16. That is a Ford Explorer 302 V8 factory driver side header.
  17. I just happen to be on Lingenfelter site but not set in stone just looking around.
  18. Since the engine for my truck has been sitting on an engine stand since Nov. I have been thinking about what I'm gonna build. I've got my thoughts narrowed down to a stroker. I am waiting for my income tax to come in (thanks to congress just about everyone's check will be late). I have been looking around at different options. I found a set of brand new L92 heads on ebay. One was assembled and one bare. I picked them up for $579, not to bad a deal. I'm thinking of sending them out to Ligenfelter for CNCing. If all goes well the lower end is going to be a 427ci stroker.
  19. My headers should be in Tues. F-body ceramic coated shorties are the only thing I found that would fit, got em for a $120 on ebay Gonna try to finish the wiring, hook up the brakes and install my B&M Hammer shifter I'll get more pics.
  20. they only ha one strap at the rear someone got for that screw up
