  1. Installed the lowering kit yesterday on my truck. Its looking good. Did the 2" drop front and rear. Got some pics in another thread will post better pics later.
  2. That is sweet but for that kinda money I can build a nice LSX engine with 650hp.
  3. I will get better pics. It does look good when you see it up close, I am going to paint the wheels gunmetal to match.
  4. I agree you need to see how much 134a is in the system, these 134a syste mare real touchy on how much freon is in the system. The old R12 system are much more giving. The low pressure cycling switch is a big problem for GM. There are also a few other issues with these trucks, the C4, C5 and C8 A/C connectors on the right side of the dash coem loose. The A/C harness that runs down behind the glovebox near the center console rubbs thru the dash support and the Acuators door motors go bad. My A/C shop bolwing hot air on the drivers side at times and ice cold on the pass side. Still working on it, narrowing it down to possibly being the drivers blend door.
  5. Got the truck back Wednesday. The Paint looks good, few minor flaws that can be removed when it wet sanded, buffed and polished. The top is painted Silver Birch and the hockey stripe is GM wheel Gunmetal Grey. The guy that painted it use to work for me, he is an excellent painter but not the best prep guy so I have to clean up a few things up.The big mess up on the job was the 1/8th blue line was suppose to separate the silver from the gunmetal in the hockey strip and the hockey strip was not suppose to stop, it was suppose to narrow to a 1/4 inch and follow all they way around the truck. It looks good the way it is but he did not do what I wanted it. I am going to paint the wheels gunmetal grey soon. Still have some minor things I'm needing to do. Sorry for the picture quality, took them with my phone. G/F had dam camera. Still need to redo the grille. The painted parts were left at the paint shop. No more hole in the bed rails The door jambs
  6. That sucks sorry to hear that. I had an old man pull out in front of me on mothers day. Luckily mine was just cosmetic. The truck looks bad but with the right body guy could be fixed and you would not notice it. Dont know where you live, in Florida (where I live) when its totaled they give you an unbuildable salvage title. They change the law a while back, they totaled my last truck and wouldn't give me rebuildable title. If its 80% or more to repair it they total it. What you can do if you want to keep it, you can tell them to give you 78% of the value of the truck and fix it yourself. Hope all works out.
  7. Definitly time for up grades My truck was wrecked on mothers day, little less damage than your and I got $4500. Steel cowl hood, custom grille and custom paint - in shop now. Did all the work myself but the paint and save alot.
  8. I agree with you on taping off the primer like that. That was my body guy, he is an excellent body person and a perfectionist with it. he had the truck over the weekend while I had other issues I had to deal with. My paint guy can take care of it. Yea when I took body classes in school the instructor would jump all over the students.
  9. Truck is closer to being finish from my mothers day crash. I just got it back from my friend that did the body work. He fixed a few flaws on the new steel cowl hood, I ha him fixed the tops of the bed rails - small dents and scratches. I also had the holes on the bed rails covered, their pointless anyway.
  10. Now you know why he has money I have a customer who is a millionaire but you would not know it because he drives an old beat up pick up truck
  11. Doesn't look all that bad. Dont like the fog lights in the brake ducts. A lifted SS doesn't look bad. I thought about it but I bought it for a street truck not off road. Just ordered a drop kit too.
  12. RaceMesh is in California so getting my money would be difficult. I'm at the point I just want my truck done. I've been driving around with no grille not to mention the steel cowl hood is not painted. Truck is going to a friend to the body work done this weekend the paint next week.
  13. Trust me I am The only problem is I.m in Florida and RaceMesh is in California. He is sending me some over sized pieces. I already talked to my metal fabricator about doing it. it will look factory.
  14. I'm getting mine two-tone also. I have white painted SS stripes on the hood, roof and tail gate. Too many Dodge references going two-tone blue bottom silver top. I've seen pics of other two- tones and they look pretty sweet.
  15. You need to service the transfer case. You need to get the GM Auto Trax fluid and do some figure 8's as mentioned. If that still does not help you may have the viscous coupler going bad in the transfer case. The bad thing is the coupler is about $700 alone and your probably looking about looking any where from $1200 for used installed to about $2000 for rebuilt installed. Price will very.

    Wreck Help

Dam thats sucks. I know your paint but now I dont feel so bad about my truck. It was not was not near as bad and had $4500 in damaged.
  17. I posted last month I wrecked my truck on Mother's Day Well the truck is getting closer to being finished. The front bumper is on and painted, I also had a few other parts fixed and repainted. I bought a Goodmark Steel Cowl Hood $350 and sold mine to my buddy the has a salvage yard for $200, he needed one and did not have any in his yard I wanted to change my grille out for a custom one and liked the way the Racemesh Grille looks. So I sent my grille brake ducts and lower center insert out. Well it came Thursday. You can see the SS grille at http://www.racemeshgrilles.com/racemeshgallery.htm#Chevy Tahoe/Avalanche/Suburban This is what came in, now the painted parts have not came back from the paint shop yet. The fit and finish just does not justify $500. plus shipping The original honeycomb was not trimmed out neatly and is very noticeable. These are the brake ducts, This is the back side, This is what I trimmed off one duct, This is what the backs looked like after I trimmed off the excess and cleaned them up, Now I know you dont see the back side, but it bothered me. I'm just pickey like that, plus if you were at a show and was checking out the grille and seens that you would peobably be like We are trying to resolve the issue right now. The owner had spoke to his builder about it and basically gave me 2 options, 1 send it back and have it corrected, 2 just send me some Racemesh and I can fix it myself. Option 1 would take time mostly due to shipping - Fl to Ca. and I'm not to happy with the job they did. Option 2 - sending me the mesh, I can do the install but I paid money for the job. Now I have a repair shop and do some custom work. i already talk to my metal fabricator about it. I think i'm going to have him send me the mesh. i'm sure they do great work but I'm just pickey about the details. I had a few paint issues and the bodyshop owner is a good friend of mine and they messed up a couple of things and they have not fixed it so I dont think I'm taking it back. Do you guys think I'm being to critical on it or what?
  18. I have a set of FEIRCE 275/55R20's on my truck. They were made by Goodyear. They have a great flame tread pattern, directional also. They handle and ride great. They were only about $130 each. The only problem is G/Y Discontinued them because they own Kelly Tires. Kelly took over the Feirce line and since they already had a tire in that sized the discontinued it Goodyear has the Eagle GT which is pretty nice and Dunlop has a couple nice tires in that size. Thats what I sell at my shop.
  19. Whatever you do, do not buy a REMAN compressor . They are junk and will create more problems than you had before. If your doing it yourself make sure you flush the entire system. Any debris left in there will destroy a new compressor, it also will void any warranty . The prices I have seen posted are the right area. Do it right and do not take short cuts it will cost more in the long run.
  20. I had flowmasters (3" 44 series) with no cats and pacesetters and it sounding awsome. It resinated in the cab to bad because the idiot I had run my exhuast out the rear had cut them off and moved the mufflers under the cab. So I took them off and installed a Gibson cat back system. It has the raspy sound you were talking about, I dont like it either and going to put go back to the Flowmasters but installed the way I want them done,
  21. Well the truck is in pieces. Almost ready to be painted. Thinking about installing a steel cowl hood and going 2 tone on the paint, most of my scratches are on the hood, top of the bed and tailgate. The insurance company sent me $4500. I only have about $800 in parts plus need to my painter so I wil still have about $2500 left over.
  22. Thats pretty F-ing nice. Not to be a nit-picker but the rear tires are directional tread and are on the going in the wrong direction sure they will will be swapped before it hit the road.
  23. P0455 is EVAP large leak. The bullliten is for P0446, the EVAP vent solenoid. P0455 can also be set by the vent solenoid, it can also be set by the gas cap, purge solenoid, tank FTP sensor or any of the EVAP lines and hoses. As for the ABS, Advance usually hires any yahoo to sell parts so them helping you is like pulling teeth
