  1. I've already hit 107k and my first accident Getting that fixed. Also time for maintaince. 6yrs old and a 100k but still looks good.
  2. P0455 is an EVAP code. I don't remember the specifics, I dont have my online shop manuals at home only at my shop. It wont affect driveability. I believe its an EVAP vent solenoid code and i think there is a bulliten for it. As for the ABS your going to have to find a shop that have a diagnostic scanner that reads the ABS system.
  3. The plastic rivets need to be drilled out. There are some plastic push pins that use a screw driver and pair of pliers to take off. Just ordered my shopman bowtie and have my grille ready ship out to have the Racemesh grille installed. The bumper, brackets and cover are ordered. I'm going to have to drive around for a couple of weeks with no grille while the Racemesh is installed, but it will be worth it.
  4. Well I had a pretty good Mother's Day till an old man decided to run a stop sign. He was not paying attention at all and just went right thru, did not try to stop or anything. I was only doing about 30mph and by the time I realized he wasn't stoping i nailed the brakes. I was towing both my jet ski's and everything from the beach, its was about 1500lbs, I tagged his right rear wheel. If I wasn't towing my ski's I could have stopped in time. Luckily its the bumper and the rest is cosmetic. The funny thing was Sat I washed it and was thinking I need to get the bumper repainted because of the f-ing love bugs and rock chips. Well now its is getting painted. i have a repair shop so I'm going to do everything my self except for the paint work. I'm going to get the RaceMesh Grille, need to find a Shopman Bowtie. I have the HID head lights, not sure if I'm going to change the head lamps and parking lights. I'm definitly coming out ahead.
  5. Nice, i have not been to St. Aug. beach since last summer. I usually go and bring my jet-ski's I see you truck is 2WD mine is AWD and I almost got stuck in the soft stuff towing the ski's
  6. If you had a normal brake pedal before them you have some type of compatibility issue with the fluid flow. It's definitly not air, that would give you a spongy pedal. Sounds like there is a restriction of flow or the master and calipers are are not working together, the volume of fluid the master cylinder moves may be pushing the calipers out to quick. I have seen many similar issues at my shop when we do a brake job on a vehicle with drum brake and the wheel cylinders come and their the wrong diameter, usually causes the brakes to grab to quick. the other problem could be the stainless lines. I would put the stock lines back on and see what happens. Also try calling Baer, Brembo or Stainless Steel Brake companies, they have tech lines to answer these question. Hope this help.
  7. Well I finally paid off my truck Bought it new Oct 04 and it would have been paid off at the end of this year The pay off was $6032.20, the monthly payment was $551.91. Did my taxes and recieved a $4300 return, Sgrounged up the rest and paid it off, man it felt good. Was Going to take care of a few other things but figured it was better to get rid of the monthly debt . This is the first time in 12yrs I will be car payment free Would love to go buy a new Camaro, but need to let things stabilize with the great economy screwing things up. Now I can catch a few things up, maybe wait till the new Z28 with 556hp comes out
  8. I was a member of a GM f-body club in Jacksonville Fl. and have not been on there in a while, logged on they changed it. Looks good but SS truck, Gonna have to add mine Site: http://www.rivercityperformance.com/
  9. Cool, what are running a vehicle or just watching. I went to PAO in Gainesville Fl last year and ran my Firebird. They were so unorganized it was insane . We got there at 8:30am on Friday morning and did in the gate till after 2:30pm one person checking in over 400 cars . We did not the car teched in till about 6:30pm . We did not get our first test past till 8:00pm and blew the clutch out . They closed the gates at 9pm. We were able to get the trans out. Saturday morning we started early to get the clutch in and had a few hang ups cause nothing for it is factory. By the time we got it together they ran our group of cars ( they break all the cars into small groups at they register thru the gates). Saturday morning when figured the car may not be ready we asked if we could run the SSS they basically said tough SH!T . It cost me about 3-4 grand that weekend between getting the car ready and of actually being there. Have fun, it still was an exciting weekend.
  10. Changed the rear about 90k and have 104k on the front and still going.
  11. Same Here Steer Noise and The HVAC Issue For a While, Just did Not Feel Like Messing With it. Dorman Makes A Shaft That Does Not Clunk, I Had One But Put It On My Dads Tahoe. Both Rear Calipers Locked Up A Couple Of Weeks Ago, Luckily I Had A Couple Of New Ones Sitting On The Shelf.
  12. Well I just hit a 100,000 miles last night. and have not had any major break downs (knock on wood). I still have the bone stock tranny and have made a good 60 passes or so down the 1/4 mile not to mention on the street and it has not let go. That has to be some kind of record . The only things that have been replaced that do not fall under Maintainance are the fuel pump, L/F shock and L/F wheel bearing. All the other stuff replaced has been performance upgrades. Just Wondering How your Trucks are holding up at higher mileage .
  13. I've had that happen before, but it usually happens on a hard luanch. Just a weak clutch, time top up grade
  14. Dont remeber when the last time I was on here. I've just been busy, I've havent even done anything new to the SS in the last year. I have not even been to the track since Pinks All Out at Gainesville last year when we blew the clutch out in the time trials. Startikng to get back into it slowly, the economy hasn't helped.
  15. Yea those picutes are pretty My stepmoms sister lives in Corpus Christy. I know how they feel, I lived in Miami right were Hurricane Andrew hit and it came ashore as a Catagory 5. We stayed in are house and did not evacuate. It was scary during it and was worse when we went outside after it, I felt like I was in the wizard of oz It is amazing how it levels an area and will leave one house in the center untouched
  16. There's a few running by me, 2 black ones and a red one. The red one I talked to the guy and never heard of the site, dont know if he's on here now. The black ones I have not cuaght yet, an older guy drives one and a young guy drives the other. The young guy was behind me one day and was trying on a two lane road with no passing, but I had to turn off before it went to four lane Couple of weeks ago let my Little brother use it to take his 4wheeeler to the local mud pit, said he was going to see how the truck did in the pit and he parks next to the young guy with the black one, and the guy heard my truck and told him "that things not stock" Guess he wont try me again BTW what happen to the member map, I have not been on here in a while?
  17. I wish I could make it but i close on my hew house on the 1st and have to start moving, plus now i heave to get my Firebird ready for pinks all out. I made it to the last one and had a great time, maybe next year.
  18. Well I was just checked my email today and recieved a Wild Card invite to run at Pinks All Out at Gainesville. They had an early registration I missed and was sold out. I wanted to try it since I only live 30min. from the track. I emailed Gainesville Raceway late Feb. asking about it. They just sent me a wild card invite. I though about running the truck but they want vehicles running 12.99 or faster, The trucks best time was 12.97 on the bottle last time. I have done a few more mods since then and can probably get it in the low 12s but I;m sure they will probably pick a 9 or 10 sec class. I now have to get my Firebird tuned. The fastest time for it was a 12.97 on worn out dot slicks spinning first gear and leaning out to 15.2:1 on fuel at 4200rpm. I could feel it losing power. I have rejetted the carb and feel a big difference but have not taken it back to the track. With good tires and properly tuned it should run low 12s/high 11s. The car has a 01 LS1/Tremec 6spd, Eledbrock intake, Demon 650 Carb (gonna be changed to a 750), Stainless Works long tube headers, flowmaster exhaust, Full Tubular BMR front suspension with coil over conversion, Spohn Rear Suspension and torque arm, Stainless Steel Brakes dual piston alluminum front caliper front brakes. I have a custom Autometer guage set to install now, finish the NOS system Install the rollcage get wheels and tires and dail it in by Apr 18th. Sound like fun doesnt it I would love to run the truck but I dont think I can get it in the 10s in 3 weeks
  19. The auto 4WD function is very similar to the AWD system. They both use a viscous clutch in the transfer case to engage the front axle. The AWD is always engaged thats why its All Wheel Drive The Auto4WD uses the same clutch set up as the AWD but only gets engaged when selected by the switch. So they do operate the same way but the reason you get a little wheel spin in the auto4WD is the play in the transfer case and the AWD is more responsive. The AWD does run primarily on 2WD until heavy torque is applied. If you jacked up the rear of your truck and put it in gear you would see the rear wheels spin, the clutch set in the transfer case works just like the posi in a rear end, thats why these truck can make a turn and not feel like its binding like a 4WD engaged would on asphalt.
  20. Looks sweet, I've been thinking about something like that but leaving the blue on the bottom and changing the top, but I have to paint the G/F's Camaro first
  21. Count me in unless something major happens
  22. I may make it, I dont have anything planned yet and if nothing major comes up then I'll be up there. I'm waiting for Jim to call me back.
