  1. Bed is shorter by 18" or so... But the cab...holy sh!t. HUGE. I'm 6'4" tall, and with the front drivers seat all the way back, I fit behind it in the rear seat comfortably. The 4-doors are what started our search for a new truck. My brother has a '06 Silverado Z71 4-door...and after riding in it, I had to have a 4-door truck. Too much convenience. - Brian
  2. You won;t necessarily NEED a tune...but there's a lot of power locked up in your PCM, not to mention the transmission tuning. I think you've got a good plan going. - Brian
  3. The Titan's are built in the good 'ole USA...Nissan has a big plant in Canton, MS...IIRC. ..and since I bought it used, I figured I wasn't supporting any economy other than the local economy where the dealership was...you know? - Brian
  4. Truthfully, I've always been a Nissan guy. Owned a mid-90's hardbody pickup...a '96 240SX (still have it, owned since 1997)...a 2000 Pathfinder...and an Infiniti G35 coupe (traded it for the Titan). ...and I've had nine (yes, 9) other 240SX 'project cars' over the years, all bought to fix and then sell for a quick profit (to fund my racing habit). So, even thought there were Chevy's that could do the job...A Titan made sense. ...although a new Denali 4-door was REALLY tempting. Those are sick! - Brian
  5. I'm running dual 2.5" Magnaflows....stock manifolds and cats, stock piping until right before the muffler used to reside...then an x-pipe, and the 2 mufflers side-by-side. 3" turndowns at the muffler exit(s). Sounds great, and the x-pipe really limited the drone. Do it. - Brian
  6. Already covered. The Weld EVO wheels I had on the SS will fit the Titan perfectly. I'm gonna put some 275/60-20 Nitto TerraGrapplers on there, it'll look great. I agree. Seems like a lot of truck forums bash Titans, and I don;t know why? It's a nice truck. ... Thanks guys. - Brian
  7. Yep, I bought a Titan. It's a 2005 model, SE, Crew Cab. Here's a pic: I (we) needed more room, and in all honesty...more 'TRUCK'. The SS is more 'sportscar'...and I need more utility these days. ...and I wanted a truck that I didn't need to be so careful with. I always babied my SS, but the Titan...I'll romp offroad, get in it dirty, etc...I'm not as concerned with keeping it pretty, really. An example: I'd never do donuts in the sand with the SS. Didn't want to scratch it. I hate to say I don;t care with the new truck...but it's an off-road truck. A couple scratches will just add character. The Titan tows close to 2000lbs MORE than the SS, which I really like (I recently bought a car trailer for my 240SX). I really thought I'd hate the Titan...figured it'd be slow, handle poorly, etc...but it's not too bad. I've already lifted the front 2", put on a Magnaflow muffler, and dropped in a K&N filter...and it's pretty quick. Probably just a tick behind the SSS. It does handle like a truck...but it also needs new shocks. The Bilstein's on my SS made a world of difference, hopefully they'll do the same on the Titan. ... Anyway, the SS is currently for sale...and even once it sells, I plan to check in around here every once and awhile. I know I'm not one of the really well known members here, but I check these forum most every day...and I really like the attitude here, as compared to a lot of the other forums I'm on. Just wanted to share. - Brian
  8. SOLD SOLD SOLD .................................................... As the title says...I'm selling my SSS. Owned it for ~4 years, and have taken very good care of it. Magnaflow mufflers, Line-X spray-in bedliner, K&N drop-in filter, Bilstein shocks, electric fans, tuned PCM (BlackBear), etc... 61,XXX miles Every option you'd expect, except no OnStar, and has the manual climate control. See here for more: http://www.ka24development.com/for_sale/SSS/ ... PRICE: SOLD SOLD SOLD LOCATED: In northeast Florida, just outside Jacksonville (Less than an hour from the Georgia state line) CONTACT: [email protected] (put "SS for sale" as the subject, I get a lot of junk mail) ... I really hate to see it go, it's been fun...but my needs out of a truck have changed...so the SS has to go. (Already bought my new truck as well) Thanks for looking. - Brian
  9. Did you guys see the truck? Pretty sweet, except for the big-ass picture of a shirtless guy on it...hehe - - > http://www.mmapunch.com/wp-content/uploads...mpage-truck.jpg - Brian
  10. Look at any Eibach lowering spring add in the truck magazines...they claim a MPG increases with their lowering kits. ??? - Brian
  11. The directional arrows on the V1 make it SO much better than anything else...and it's been proven as accurate or more accurate than the other high end radar detectors. Love mine. - Brian
  12. We got it on Pay-per-view at a friends...he has Dish. One minute into the main event, the dish lost signal. Came back about ~25 minutes later, RIGHT AFTER THE DECISION. We got screwed, didn't see the fight. - Brian
  13. ...BUT...the one is for a 'resonating chamber'...there is no exhaust flow through it. The one that need a turndown will have black soot, or exhaust residue in the pipe once it's cut off. The other will be more or less, clean. I ran mine like that for a while (I like the no tip look)...and it sounded a little deeper / louder outside...the change wasn't noticeable in the cab. - Brian
  14. It's easy stuff. Here's a thread with a few pics, and the sizes. http://www.SilveradoSS.com/forums/index.ph...st&p=416495 Tell your sponsors to send me free stuff. ...hehe. - Brian
  15. NGK and Bosch use REVERSE heat ratings. That Bosch '9' is HOTTER than the NGK '5'. Retarded, I know. Here's a good comparison chart showing the difference across the brands - - > ( from www.sparkplugs.com ) - Brian
  16. Go to Napa, Autozone, wherever...and tell them you need a Honda oil drain plug. They will have a few, and TYPICALLY, the thread/pitch will be stamped on there. 18x1.5, metric. - Brian
  17. Same here...I had the stock 105-amp in my 2003, and it was almost having trouble keeping up with demand...with the A/C on, and the e-fans on full blast. Upgraded to a "KG3"...GM optional 145-amp, bolt-in replacement. "Mr P" mentioned these were available in the 2004-2005 Z71 Tahoe's...and you'll need a longer belt (93"). - Brian
  18. 1) Exhaust scavenging = more power 2) Sound ...and x-pipe is best, but a short "H" is good as well. - Brian
  19. Buy the one that weighs LESS. Your gas mileage will thank you. - Brian
  20. The one you want is a "KG3" option, from MANY of the later model Chevy trucks / SUV's. I think that "Mr.P" specifically referenced the 2003-2004 Z71 Tahoe as one place to find one. If you want a used one, search for a 2004 Z71 Tahoe on www.car-part.com - It's a junkyard search engine. Awesome. Find what you need, then call the yard and place an order. When you call, specifically ask to be sure they are selling you a 145 amp model. Easy. ... I just upgraded mine. Same deal - After the e-fans, the voltage would drop at night, with the A/C on (fans on high, headlights on, etc...). Not any more. The belt you want after this IS the 93" one...I got a Gatorback, it was part number 4060930 - Brian
  21. Ever consider that maybe it's airflow related? '06 Yukon probably has e-fans...does your SSS still have the factory clutch fan? More (constant) airflow over the condenser = colder A/C. Something to consider. - Brian
  22. The stock SS 20" wheels are 39lbs without tires. I've read that on here...and confirmed it with my own scale. FWIW. - Brian
  23. Just for the sake of comparison...my 20x8.5" Weld wheels (forged) weigh 24lbs each. 50lb shipping weight for 2 (with the box, of course), and confirmed at ~24lbs each on a scale. So there are *light* forged wheel in large sizes out there. - Brian
  24. WD-40 to help get it loose, and keep the paint from scratching. Then wash with soap and water. The wax / polish / whatever you prefer. ... I did my mom's WHOLE Mustang years ago - She drove through a spilled BARREL of paint outside a business. Looked good as new after. - Brian
  25. The pics might help...they are below - - > BTW, that website kinda sucks...hard to navigate. . . - Brian
