  1. He does this because he is a clueless dumbass. The LSA(lobe separation angle) is ground into the cam, and will not change. What you're reffering to with the +/-4 degrees are advancing or retarding the timing events.
  2. You just don't know where to look - there's LOTS of this near Marietta & Riverside Co, all throughout the San Joaquin valley and even between Paso Robles & Salinas although that area is kind of dying out late years. Rodeoing in California is not the same as it was 20 years ago, in the last 5-10 years many Californians have left for Texas because of the land price/real estate situation, it's just too damned expensive to live an equine lifestyle there anymore. An insight as to how much money California is loosing now, the Brashear family (owners of Borden Milk) just moved to Stephenville from SoCal; there's lots of new money in this area and most of it is from the southwest. Mr. P. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I guess I haven't been going out of my way to find it. Still think it's cool though. Seeing different lifestyles is very appealing to me. It's a trip to see how other people live in other parts of the country. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That is pretty cool. What's normal everyday stuff to one is extreme to another.
  3. I have one made by KD Tools that I've had for years. Works great on Pontiac heads. I assume you're using air to hold the valves in place. I got mine at Pep Boys years ago. Or if you're in the area I can dig it out for you.
  4. I have a cousin who was a rodeo cowboy back in the early 80s. Bull riding and steer wrestling. Never made sense to me why you'd want to get on the back of a 2000+lbs animal with horns that doesn't want you there. Looks like a good time, Steve.
  5. Ya, I think I'm pretty mechanically inclined, but not for this. I've never built a motor and I don't think I want to start with this one plus I don't have the room or the time to do it right now. I'd love to learn one day from someone who knows how to though. That would be great. I was looking at the 383/425, ZZ 383ci I believe is what they call it. GM PART # 12498772 Let me know! Thanks <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's really not that hard. Just take your time, and make sure everything is clean. The hardest part is picking the right combination to get the power you want. Either way in your case, the GMPP or the M&R one, someone has done the homework for you. I would go with the M&R one. That one will sound pretty nas-t.
  6. That is a damn nice truck. I'd like to design an alarm that's wire to 220+ volts. That way as soon as they touch it the only thing left is a greasy spot.
  7. We're a little mtoo far south. I would like to see it someday.
  8. Get her one of those spa packages, she will never forget it! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's probably the best one.
  9. Seafoam or Berryman's B-12. My wife's was so bad that the throttle was sticking closed. Now I do it once a year when I service the K&N filters.
  10. Same here. After that my fuel guage started reading all over the place, and my speedo is jumpy sometimes. Come to find out it's little stepper motors on the back of the cluster that go bad. I'm out of warranty so I'm waiting till after Christmas.
  11. Good deal. He'll be up and around in no time.
  12. Letters from officers would probably be irrelevant, mainly because they weren't there. I would take your g/f if she can be there. Just in case.
  13. For him it would/could be worth it, because he has a spotless record. You were f-ed from the start.
  14. You could give it a shot. Worst thing that can happen is you'll have to pay it. I wouldn't take time slips to court, though. Go to court, plead your case, be respectful, you might get lucky considering this is your first offence.
  15. I've seen the line of fire on another members truck. His is black with the Bser pan, and it does look good. I'm thinking of doing it on mine, but I too would just want brake and reverse lights. I guess if you wire it in you can just eliminate the running and turn signal wires. Now I have that Pat Bennetar song in my head.
  16. Yes they are Goodyear's brand.
  17. It's not that much less stock vs. stock. The new ones with a 5.3 is 325HP. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Chevy site says 315. They new body syle looks pretty good in person. Picks really don't do it justice. Now as for the price. GM is out of their F*#$$ mind. Sticker price going up to the mid $40's for a regular silverado is stupid. Thanks GM for screwing yourself once again. Rant OFF I'm never going to get rid of my SS if I can help it. Love my truck <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I stand corrected. The Tahoe/Suburban has 320HP. I thought they were the same accross the board. Don't know where I got 325, though. Still impressive, especially for the fuel economy.
  18. Block out the sun, huh? Would that be with diesel smoke or tire smoke? Very cool, btw. It amazes me to leaps that have been made in diesel technology.
