  1. Dude, I'm 41. How old are you? :wtf:

I got a full time job, vote, pay my taxes, feed my family and occasionally enjoy being entertained by the boob tube. I get tired of all of the bulls#!+ just like you, but I don't let it consume my life. Get over it!

:withstupid: Except 42. :D If you let all the bad stuff, or media in general, consume your life you're going to give yourself an ulcer by the time you hit 25, or just end up being miserably depressed.

Back on topic; We didn't watch this season. We've gotten into the previous ones, but for some reason didn't get into this one.

  2. Don't worry, be glad you caught it at a young age beofre the damages of not knowing catch up with you later. Working in Healthcare I see it daily, patients who have ignored symptoms and never been to a Dr. Control the HTN with meds. and low salt intake. Control the diabetes with meds. oral hopefully and watch your sugar intake and size of meals, eating breakfast will also help, less crashes and then once eat eat lunch suagr won't spike. 1st of all how were you diagnosed? Officially or did you go in for something and were nervous then they checked your BP, it's always higher in the Dr.'s office. Also, if you just ate your blood sugar is gonna be up and will gradually go down. everytime I go in Dr. says same b.s. my BP is 135/85 high sir, cuz I was irritated parking my SS cuz no parking lol. When I check it at work it's 115/70. You'll be fine! From reading your past posts I'm sure you have plenty of support from family to get you through this shocking time. Take care.... - Aaron
My Dr. calls it white coat syndrome. As soon as you see a white coat your BP goes up. :D
  3. i got a cc right out of high school, figured, free cash, BIGGEST mistake i ever made. i was in college, no job, no money, so i didn't pay it, didn't really know th eramifacations of it, now i pay more for anything i finance! no more cc for us...ever...like dave ramsey says, " the borrower is slave to the lender"
We took FPU a year ago, and it's that quote that hit me like a ton of bricks. I don't want to be a slave any longer.

    Avid Dave Ramsey fan/listener.

  4. Very true, as long as you have the room for the hold on funds in your checking account. Many of them will place a monetary hold on the card and for someone who doesnt have thousands in their checking (a vast majority of citizens), it could spell disaster. I had friend who went on vacation and reserved a room with his debit card. The hotel placed a hold of $250 on his card. He only had a $1,000 in his checking account and ended up running out of money while on vacation thinking he had a 1,000, not $750 to work with. Yes, the hold was lifted and they didnt keep the money, but it made for a very inconvenient experience.
We did experience that problem. Every since then we will pay for the room up front. That also make check out easier.
  5. IMO yes, DGI is a game changer. Will DGI alone make a truck's fuel mileage half-again better? No. But, the beauty of DGI is that it is a performance technology rather than a EPA technoloty, you want DGI because the motor makes a ton more torque all over the RPM band - and if GM combines this with AFM then the truck can actually perform well in 4-cylinder mode for a change (because a DGI V8 makes much more torque in 4-cyl mode) and then you begin seeing better running economy. When they take the 6.2L Denali motor (which already features VVT and AFM) and add DGI I am betting the freeway fuel economy will take a big jump upwards, for consumers it will be like going from the LT1 cars to the LS1 cars in terms of power/economy gains. Performance-wise the DGI motors are going to be far more powerful than than anything before them, the 400-hp LS3 motor will make 450+ if fit with DGI without even trying. The only thing that I wonder about is the rev limit of the DGI injectors, will they rev to 7500-RPM?

AFA Obama's announcement, DGI was already coming and every knew it for years; the current administration now that they've seen the Camaro V6 DGI motor has decided to make it law, these will be the kinds of powerplants being made from now on. Today is the death of the EFI motor, just like when Congress legislated out the carburator.

    Mr. P.

I'm curious as to the tunability of DGI.
  6. We have come a looooong way in the past 15-20 years. Back in the 80s if you would have told me that there would be 400HP cars getting fuel economy in the 20s with a smooth idle, great drivabilty, and A/C, I would have said you're nuts. EFI has made leaps and bounds in performance and economy. I don't know how much further we can go. I'know direct injection is suppose to be the next big thing from everthing I've read, but can it improve economy that much?

  7. We have NOT received a letter from GM here either at Patterson Auto Center GMC/Caddy/Pontiac/Buick in Wichita Falls, TX either. Thank GOD.

We have Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep here too, and we passed that closing list already... :happysad:

They haven't told us yay or nay on the letter. I'm thinking that we're safe. We are, however, losing a Chrysler-Jeep store in Denton. It's a small Chrysler -Jeep/Kia dealer that actually does more Kia business than anything, so it will stay open as a Kia dealer. Hopefully it will work out, so people aren't out on the streets.

Edit- I wonder how many dealers are not telling their people?

  8. I hope the silver lining in all this is that the customer service attitudes at the remaining GM dealers goes up.

    Mr. P.

It really should. I hope it's the begining of a return to the America of old. When people actually took pride in their work.
  9. Mine has been my DD since I bought it, and probably always will be. I keep it cleaned, and well maintained, as with all my vehicles I've ever owned. I want something else as a toy, and would think it would be cool to drag a toy around in the SS.
