  1. Using Riverside Gear's index as a reference...........what is the correct size of the front differential in our trucks? Regards, Dan
  2. I have the same thing and I'm still trying to figure it out. If I do you'll see a post! Regards, Dan
  3. After some suggestions here I started looking at K&N's website and I found a filter I thought had the proper dimensions to replace our Outlaw filter. The K&N part No. is RU-3530. After a test fit it appeared to be a perfect fit. I took the allen head screws out and removed the Outlaw filter from the mounting gasket. I then cut the center out of the mounting gasket so it would snugly fit the new filter. It turned out perfect. Only about 5% of the K&N filter sticks out of the CAI box and the modified mounting gasket supports its weight. Here's a couple of pics. Regards, Dan
  4. Here's the link the their site. Not as much information as I'd like though. Taken from Jeg's website it looks like the AEM 21-2049DK will work but I'd check dimensions before ordering. Regards, Dan
  5. I found a replacement K&N filter. It's a universal filter that will require some modification. It's $50 and I get it this Saturday. When I'm done I'll post pictures and remarks. Regards, Dan
  6. In the picture below numbers 5 and 20 are listed as bearings. The 20's appear to be carrier bearings. 5 appears to be an outboard axle bearing. Regards, Dan
  7. Does anyone have any mechanical drawings of the front differential? I'd like to be more informed about this problem. Regards, Dan
  8. Lately I've developed a 'scraping' noise I swear is coming from the front driveline. It is the loudest when the truck is warmed up and running about 30mph. I noticed that the application of throttle influences the noise. Throttle on equals noise. Throttle off equals less noise. This is definately metal on metal contact type of noise. Anyways, I took to a shop in my area that has a flawless reputation and they gave it a thorough check. First thing they did was take it for a test drive and wouldn't you know it. It being very cold the noise was barely there. Second, they checked front differential fluid. Clear and no metal shavings on the magnetic plug. They checked the transfer case and it looked good. They checked the rest of the driveline and could find no issues. I can't be a wheel bearing. It's probably not a CV joint. What could it be? This is starting to bug me. Thoughts anyone? Regards, Dan
  9. Any links to these Brembos? Regards, Dan
  10. Spring is coming and I'm going to need new tires soon so why not go all the way? Here is one example of some of the wheel and tire packages that are tempting me. Regards, Dan
  11. Do you have a recall number or any specific details you can quote from the letter? Regards, Dan
  12. I have a 2003 and mine have stopped worked a few times in cold weather. Regards, Dan
  13. Mr. P. Here's a link on rear differential replacement. How much of this article can be applied to the front differential? Regards, Dan
  14. I might find something from K&N's Universal Cone Filters but it'll take some measuring. Regards, Dan
  15. Strange that they are out of business and their website still functions perfectly. That threw me off. Regards, Dan
  16. Shortly after posting I found the replacement filter on Outlaw's site. Regards, Dan
  17. I've had my Outlaw CAI for about three years now so I think I'm due for a replacement filter. I've blown it out a few times with compressed air but I'd like the peace of mind of a brand new filter every once in a while. Suggestions on who carries replacement filter? I've emailed Outlaw themselves and haven't got a response yet. Regards, Dan
  18. Here's a used Radix on EBay with a claimed 15k on it. Used Radix How many total miles would you expect from a Radix before it is time for a rebuild? Regards, Dan
  19. Had the dealer check out my truck. They said driver's side, rear, inside pad is almost down to the metal. Odd for 40k? Regards, Dan
  20. What kind of annoyed me is that the Summit and Hawk's websites list the rear pads as HB324F-673. Here's a pic: And here is a pic of the HB385: As you can see the dimensions are quite different. I'm glad I have my forum members or I might never get the correct part! Regards, Dan
  21. In a recent post SS_BNOON_SS listed the following HAWK HPS brake pad numbers for our 2003 SS's. He listed the front as HWK-HB323F-724 and the rear as HWK-HB-385F-640. I went to summitracing today and plugged in 2003 SS and got HWK-HB322F-717 for the front and HWK-HB324F-673 for the rear. Does anyone know why there is a difference in the listed numbers? Regards, Dan
  22. Yes the brakes are pulsing slightly. I'm getting ready to do some braided lines and Baers. Hopefully I'll kill two birds with one stone. I was alittle concerned that I might be losing a carrier bearing or something similar. Regards, Dan
  23. Recently I've developed a new noise that sounds like it's coming from the front end. It's a very subtle scraping or light grinding noise that appears after I'm slightly warmed up. It only appears while I'm moving so it is something driveline related. At 40k of mostly city driving I was hoping that it was time for new brakes but I don't think that's it. Anyways, I will eventually take it in to get checked out but I'd like to go in with some educated guesses. Thoughts anyone? Regards, Dan
