  1. Your stereo interface adapter is bad. You just need to test acc output at the deck, which is probably staying on instead of shutting down with rap.
  2. Sounds like a bad door pin, and since its in the latch, the latch needs to be replaced. But test it first. There's on 4 or so wires going to the latch, two for the lock actuator and two for the door pin. One rests at ground and the other goes to ground when the door opens. Use a test light or meter to test. If both wires stay at ground, you need a new latch.
  3. The colors at the sub are dr grn+ and blue/black- for one coil, blue/white+ and green/black- on the other.
  4. You can't tag onto the rear speakers for sub signal, the rears are high pass filtered and you won't have any bass. The sub has two channels, just need those for signal. If your amp has speaker level inputs then you go directly to the sub wiring in the center console. If your amp doesn't have speaker level input, then you need a hi-level convertor. tag the factory sub wires to that and run an rca to the amp.
  5. Pretty tough question, there are a million subs on the market. What type of box are you gonna run. Custom or prefab? Upfiring, downfiring, etc. You really almost need to know what your gonna have for an amp before you can pick subs. There are a few factors involved...watts, resistance, etc.
  6. I hear ya. My truck hasn't had subs for almost a year. The last thing I want to do is work on it when I go home. I used to love car audio. Working on cars I don't mind.... But after many years of dealing with stupid salesman, reps, customers, installers, and everyone else, I don't find it so appealing anymore. Car audio customers are the worst. They want everything fast, cheap, and good. You only can pick two of those. Kraudio12... You said you love doing this stuff... I'm guessing your pretty young? Am I right?
  7. Try doing it for a living...It gets old fast.
  8. I don't know Kenwood but Pioneer says all their decks have a 24 bit convertors but I know that they don't have the best sound. If you really need a cd player and for the best sounding deck, Alpine CDA-117. plays cds and mp3s. 24 bit convertor. But need a module for bluetooth.
  9. Look for a deck with 24 bit converters, makes a big difference in sound quality.
  10. When you open the drivers door when the trucks on does it say 'drivers door open' on the dic? Probably not, so your going to have to pull the door panel off to test for sure. The door pin is in the latch, so I think you have to replace the entire latch.
  11. Your saying you want it to sound better, but you have to be alittle more descriptive. Bass sound is non-directional, the only thing that matters with bass is distance.
  12. Ya no everything will work out. I didn't finish Pauls sub box ether, my stupid work was closed today so I can't get to my tools
  13. Sorry guys, I have to cancel. Long story.
  14. There's a hidden fuse wrapped with shrink tubing behind the bolster cover. He's a pic.
  15. Ya they dropped the pass lock in 04
  16. That'll buff right out...
