  1. What if they had made an AvalancheSS? I mean, think about it-the avalanche was desigmed from early on with an 8.1 litre option, sooo Yeah, if they would have offered one in 2005 I would have thought about it. But then you ask yourself...what can Avalanche SS do that Escalade EXT could not-IF it had the 8.1 option?
  2. I had an early 90 model 454-SS. Had a 92 GMC 1500 SLE RCSB. Had an orange 2003 RCSB wannabe SS-this one- Then I got an SSS. Still in it, love as much as I did when I drove it off the lot. I heard of other ppl here who sold their SS, and then posted about kicking themselves every day because they got rid of it. I reckon that's because there will never be another truck like it produced. Im keeping mine.
  3. I've got one to get rid of. Build date on my truck is 11/04. [email protected] Let me know something.
  4. I was on my way to Florida for Thanksgiving, and had a weird failure of my LF stock original tire inn Troy AL. So, having awd, I got to buy a set of 4. Had a choice of the stock Goodyears, or the Cooper Discoverers. I got the Coopers, have almost 10000 miles on them. I admit to liking them, though I would have ordinarily bought something else, more expensive, higher performance etc. But the Coopers meet my needs just fine.
  5. I'll let ya know as soon as I know...thanks.
  6. Beautiful. Hope you still have it when I get my insurance check. I have been looking for a Glastron Carlson Scimitar but those are hard to find plus expensive.
  7. Once I learned to shut off the compressor for the last 10 minutes of driving, I didn't have this problem any more.
  8. ok, thats cool. Thanks for the replies.
  9. Has anyone's hour meter reset itself without any intervention? I had warranty motor work done about a yr ago, and had a cat replaced in June. Whey they did the motor work they did some sort of reprogram and my hour meter reset to zero. In January it was up to 55 hours, then reset back to zero. Any idea if this is a problem?
  10. I've thought about ditching my chromies and going with the painted ones...
  11. A VW is a VW, no matter how fast or expensive it is. And the one new VW choice I made was the worst in my dirving career. ZR1 is a better car simply because it is a Chevrolet. And it wont kill him in operating/repair costs.
  12. Reminds me of the crown royal bag on my Mustang SVO's shifter back in 85 Once you get stopped and hassled over something like that, you will wonder why you ever did it. Oh well, good memory anyway
  13. I had the first trucks in both of these colors that came to Bako. Moved to Cali in 98, lived there til June of 09. Economy got my business so I bailed. Life is good now in central Alabama.
  14. Be careful of the high mileage ones---these things tend to age kinda like Escalades-not as many problems though. If you were to spend 18 or so you should be able to get a real nice one. IMHO even though I dont have many mods, I suggest you get a stock one and mod it yourself. When I was in Armadillo in June getting a cat under warranty the used car dept had just sold a real nice blue one. Keep an eye on Ebay, autotrader.com, http://www.cars-on-line.com/, fullsizechevy.com to name just a few.
  15. Hey Alex---long time no speak. Sorry to see you selling your truck. Mine is hanging on just fine, no longer a garage queen/mobile office in Cali, now a boat-pullin bad ass way out in the woods in Alabama. I remember you and me were the first ones here to get that sunroof. Found a place in the ATL who will still honor the lifetime warranty. Take care man
  16. I had the first orange 2003 rcsb that came to Bakersfield. Spent a good bit trying to clone it but in the end just went for the real deal. Got mine (the first silver one sold in Bako) at 3-Way. I really like your truck.
  17. car mag said 300hp, less than the mustang 4.6 Very sad. It had so much potential too.
  18. Sounds a little high---you can do better.
  19. The wheels are straight off a holden, and they look like caca. We need a new direction in wheel design.
  20. I've heard it's bad on some engines, due to excessive cam lobe wear. Not sure about ours though...
  21. Why is it that Italian cars are so prone to spontaneously combust like that...I knew Fiats did it, but woulda thought a Lambo might not be so quick to burn. My advice to anyone buying anything Italian should also order a Halon system with it
  22. My prime motivation for not selling is, "...you'll never have another one like it..." Getting a G8 GT as soon as I can get a manual one with nav, a sunroof, XM and OnStar, but the SS is staying
