  1. Learn what? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think its because the Hemi guys get soooo emotional when they get their @$$es handed to them...like little girls. I swear, the last one I beat put his truck in neutral at the next light and did his best to blow his hemi out of the truck...
  2. 3 Way has gone way downhill. Taking on Cadillac and Hummer was just too much for them. Looks to me like they didnt prep it right before they installed the cladding. Sux because 3 Way used to have one of the best body shops in town. You're still under warranty, right? I'd take it to Motor City for everything once you get this straightened out. They are treating me very well. If you still want a Chevy dealer then Richland in Shafter is your best bet.
  3. My bro is changing a faded red SS to white, but he is taking his time with it, and doing it right.
  4. Any owners? Not bagging on them (much), but on this trip Ive noticed that every time I come up on one from behind, with them doing at least 70, the middle of the rear bumper is catching air and vibrating bad...and I imagine if you could get one over 100 you would be in danger of losing the bumper, with regard to how much they shake at 70...anyone else noticed this? Just wanted to share that I didn't expect to be disappointed with GMT900 so soon.
  5. They are custom built, usually by a custom shop and sold as new conversions, the pics of the one you show has a street sceene bumper up front with ss badges, and a few other gm parts, when i built mine i used ALL current silverado SS parts and a few A/M parts to come up with my rendering of what gm should have offered us. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If Chevy had built Tahoe's and Suburbans like yours, we could have seen GMT800 last a nother 5 years. Your truck looks fantastic Btw, I knew that was a StreetScene bumper already
  6. Ive never seen one, didn't know they existed. Still not sure if it is a one-off or something a dealer was doing to respond to demand. If its real, why didn't Chevy mention it in the brochure?
  7. You can't go to hell without going through Chicago (if flying United) Ive had my fair share of delays and strandings at O'Hare...can't say I like it much myself. The town itself is pretty cool, but not my first choice to live in. Better than flying on one engine from Salt Lake to LAX. Im in the bay area as we speak. How did you ever leave such an awesome place and go to Chicago?
  8. Im still tock too except for the sunroof and billet. I may wait until warranty runs out before doing anything. Then again I may get a tune, CAI, and exhaust in the next few months..still havent decided. As far as external mods or wheels and tires, that would be a long way off in either case
  9. You dont use automatic car washes do you? Please say no. WalkerDA's post about the adhesion promoter is pretty much where I am at this point. I hope you get it fixed to your satisfaction.
  10. _The only_ special edition SS is the Intimidator...and a lot more than 14 have already been built.
  11. That would burn my @$$...I guess Im lucky. Checked all the clearances tonight and everything is centered and straight.
  12. It can't be the heat...lots of us out west with many days above 105-this is the first I have heard about this problem. It would have to be the humidity making the tape come loose-that or lots of rain. Something else I would look into is if your cladding is warped before it is applied, say from sitting in a hot warehouse somewhere? Warped cladding would definitely move out of place over time. It could also be as simple as not cleaning the body properly before they replace the cladding. Just a good wash with dawn and dry before putting it on should make a difference. If that didn't work we could move on other adhesives made by 3M which would _never_ come off.
  13. Luckily I don't have that little compartment door on mine so I won't have to worry about that one. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Good! I didn't mean to bag on your new truck so bad, I just love my SS...
  14. In the realms of cover bands, I have a couple of way-out-there ones that I like a lot: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00005OW5...2689702?ie=UTF8 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00008A7U...ie=UTF8&s=music
  15. I've never witnessed one of 'the big guys' re: high-dollar tuners self destruct in public the way this guy has. And the post on the 300 forum will keep showing up on google's cache for the next twenty years. Literally millions of people now know about this. I don't care how good he is capable of being, or how fast a car he is capable of building-if I dropped off my vehicle with him, along with a wad of cash, and he stripped it, sold the parts, and then gave me the run around, he would be running around minus a few body parts.
  16. I miss The Dead almost as much as I do Pink Floyd. But when they _all_ got back together this year for Live Aid, they sounded not so good...but at least Roger Waters came back to play bass for them one last time. You know Syd Barrett died last week, dont you?
  17. Ive seen the Floyd every time they toured since 1977. Best of all those IMHO was The Wall at Earl's Court London (1980), and Delicate Sound of Thunder, when they came to Birmingham, AL-to play for me My first show was at age 12, Apr 3 1977 at the Omni in Atlanta-changed my life forever---I still have that ticket stub somewhere. I guess Im a little bit of a fan
  18. I thinks its an 'either-or' situation for GM, in that the Camaro and the GTO will be built on the same platform. So, either there will be a Firebird, or there will be a GTO...I dont see how it would be profitable to build both.
  19. I hope and think he has replaced all the wiring...I have experience with flood cars as well.
  20. Brakes are weak, interior trim is not so good quality, and the cool little rear compartment door next to the back wheel is prone to rust-through. Im thinking anything but a Titan, man. Geez, get yourself a 06 1500 crew cab with a 4.8...then you can clone it to an SS. Just hate to see people trading them off.
  21. Wouldnt it have been easier to just take off the door panel and push out the dents that way?
  22. I think the idea is to go with smaller truck and suv platforms-Ford will have some kind of SVT Sport-Trak, Chrysler has the Jeep GC SRT8, and we have the TBSS. Who in their right mind would buy one of those hideous 08 Silverados anyway? Would having an SS badge even mean anything? I mean, for real, I can put an SS badge on a turd fwiw...
