  1. Don't mean to thread jack, but I have a black one, just need to get a post up for that and the other items I have in this section. I'm in the Dallas area. -patrick
  2. My blood is boiling again. This is crazy! I've already talked to a local alarm shop about the alarm I'm going to add to my new truck. I'm getting one with a 2-way pager so I can come out and seriously f*ck up anyone who messes with my vehicle. Maybe you'll be luckier than I was, and they'll recover your vehicle (in good shape). Fingers crossed! -patrick
  3. Update. The truck has not been recovered. Insurance is ready to settle. I'm insured with State Farm, and to their credit I think their settlement offer is very fair (didn't stop me from arguing to squeeze out another thousand though). I sent them over 50 pages of receipts for the mods I did to the truck, which I bought new in June of 2003. I've already got a replacement vehicle picked out. I'm getting a new 2009 Avalanche LTZ this weekend. Nothing like the SS, which was my all-time favorite vehicle (and I've owned a bunch), but still a nice ride. I have some leftover parts that I'll be putting up in the for sale section. Factory rear bumper, factory trailer hitch, a pair of Edelbrock IAS 33012 shocks (for the front), factory floor mats, 2 magnaflow tips, maybe a couple other items, I'll have to look through the garage. Thanks again to all for your support during this tough period. This forum is great for information, but even better because of the great members. -patrick
  4. Thanks for the crosspost. The more eyes looking the better. That being said, statistics say that if a vehicle isn't recovered with the first 48-72 hours, it most likely won't ever be recovered. Talked to Dallas PD again yesterday (over 1.5 hours on hold before I could talk to a detective) and nothing. I agree with all the posts suggesting adding a better alarm system to your truck. Please learn from my loss. If you don't have some sort of aftermarket alarm on your truck, add one!!! Insurance told me they want to wait about 2 weeks before they declare it a loss and settle. I've been gathering receipts for all the mods I did. I know I'll only get pennies on the dollar, but I have started the conversation with insurance to begin the negotiations. Anyway, thanks again for all the kind words. I'll keep the thread updated.
  5. Thanks for the kind words. Identifying info: 2003 black SS with factory wheels. Flush bedcover, blacked out front end with shopman bowtie. 2/3 drop. BSER rollpan. Exhaust is split rear, and the rollpan is notched to accommodate the exhaust tips.
  6. Was watching the superbowl with some buddies at a restaurant/bar in N Dallas (Bone Daddy's on Spring Valley for you Dallasites). I was parked right by the entrance in plain sight. Walked out after the game to find that my truck was gone. They actually had a video camera covering that spot, so Dallas police has a copy of the video of the thieves. Hopefully they'll catch the SOBs, but I'm not hopeful
  7. Just got a new English Bulldog puppy: Rascal
  8. I have a whistling sound as well (AEM bruteforce CAI). Mine does seem to be more RPM related though.
  9. Had my BSER rollpan notched a bit for the tips to fit up in it some, and mine's about a fingers width as well.
  10. Have you considered doing the LED conversion for hire? If so, how much would you charge?
  11. I was at the shop getting an alignment after dropping my truck this weekend, and they mentioned the looseness in my steering as well. They said you could do something similar to what Hankg42 mentioned (tighten down a screw), but they did say that could cause problems down the road?!?
  12. Just installed the McGaughy deluxe kit on my truck this weekend (drop spindle, shackles and hangers). No major installation problems, Mr. P's how-to's were immensely helpful! However, my turning radius is definitely worse now then it was before the drop. Could I somehow have gotten old spindles? I bought the kit new from Godfather Customs a couple of months ago. If not, what else that could be causing this?
  13. I bought the Magnaflow catback some time back, but didn't use the tips. They are part number 35114. Here's a crappy pic from my cellphone: List price is $86.89 per tip. I see them on ebay and amazon for $50 per tip, shipping included. I would prefer to sell them both together. I'd sell the pair for $50 + $15 shipping (if you're in the Dallas area, we could meet up and you could avoid the shipping charge). That would save you $35 over ebay prices (or save you $50 if you're local). If I'm not able to sell them together, I'd sell them individually for $25 + $15 shipping (according to the UPS calculator, ground shipping seems to be about the same whether I ship 1 or 2).
  14. I have 2 Magnaflow tips that came with my Magnaflow catback that I didn't use that I'd sell for cheap. I know I need to post this up in the forsale section, but since it was mentioned that the GMPP system doesn't come with tips, I thought I'd mention it here as well.
  15. FWIW, here's AEM's instructions: http://www.aemintakes.com/air_filter_clean...nstructions.htm
  16. As promised, here they are mounted on my truck. I'm grinning ear to ear, great work Terry!!!
  17. When I ordered mine back in 2003, they would send you out carpet swatches to help you choose your colors. I would guess they still do that? Here's a link to the Lloyd's grey mat colors: http://www.lloydmats.com/ultimat_colors_greys.htm I ordered the mat in 190 (S Grey) with Silver letters. Here's a couple of crappy pix from my iPhone (wife has the good camera with her):
  18. Terry is finished, and the clearcoat is on. Next time you see these, they will be on my truck! I knew that would look great, but this is even better than I had hoped for! I'll reiterate: Terry is extremely talented, and a great guy!
  19. Yeah, I saw Godsmack at Crue Fest 2 earlier this year. Sully is a great frontman. When they rolled out the 2nd drumset and had the dual drum solo, that was incredible. Anyway, back to the covers Here's a couple move pixs. Terry has added a SS logo in the middle with flames coming out of it. He's still going to add some true flames around the front and side. I'm going to hate closing my hood
  20. Terry (1 Fast SS) is painting my engine covers. The theme is based on a Godsmack concert t-shirt I have. I know he's been slammed at work, so he said he hasn't been on the site much lately as a result. I thought I'd share a few of the progress pics he's been sending me. He really does amazing work, and is a great guy to deal with! Believe it or not, he's still got more detail work to do. He's also going to put a SS logo in the center with some tribal flames around it, and some true fire flames around the front and sides. Anyway, here's some pictures. Enjoy!
  21. Mine's a Gemtop GT Classic. Steel, flush, looks really good (but expensive).
  22. Contacted my tuner last night (Justin). He said he had heard of the coolant temp issue one time before and it resolved itself after removing the harness and re-installing, that one of the wires into the PCM must not be making great contact. I tried this, and my problem has gone away (at least for now). Have you done anything with your PCM lately? If so, you might give this a try.
  23. I did have my battery disconnected during the install. However, I didn't notice my problem prior to installing e-fans + alternator. I tried unplugging the connector from the temperature sensor and replugging (thought I might have knocked it loose), no change. I also tried unhooking the power from my e-fans, again no change.
  24. I was just about to post a new thread with intermittent temp gauge until I saw this one. I just put on a set of OEM e-fans and a 145a alternator. Driving around to check everything out when I noticed the temp gauge go all the way to the left. e-fans kept functioning normally though. Unhooked the battery, hooked it back up, and the temp gauge worked for a minute or so and then pegs to the left again. Not sure if I'm seeing the same problem you are, or if mine is related to the e-fan and/or alternator installation???
  25. Just got an email from Stylin' Trucks about a 20% off sale on their lowering components through 8/31. Use coupon code GETLOWER to get the savings.
