  1. Looks like it's going to rain all day Saturday in Des Moines. Hope that dosen't damper the plans any.
  2. You might rub a little on the inner fender well, as these tires are wider than the stock Goodyears. But it's not bad at all. I am at stock height with the stock size and notice they did rub when backing up with steering all the way to the left.
  3. You don't want to show everyone the hood yet, do you. Lookin' good Chris!
  4. Love em! These are a great improvement over the stock Goodyears. Allthough, just about anything is. The ride is MUCH softer now and I actually have to try to break them loose around corners. Plus they just look sexy and are fairly inexpensive compared to others. These have my endorsement!
  5. Rich, I need to have Ol' Pete align my exhaut tips better (he might call me OCD because we are talking fractions of an inch). Should not be a big deal but will probably require his expertise. Might need a slight tweak on a bender, or relocate / shorten a hanger. I don't know. I will gladly pay him to fix me up.
  6. The only rollpans that would look decent on an SS are made by a fellow member by the name of Bser. Check with him and see when he will be fabricating another batch of them. Not sure if I share your vision on shaving the tail lights on an SS though...
  7. Nope. I have 16" steelies I run in the winter and barely have 1/4" clearance around front calipers. Read somewhere else that the 16" wheels were the minimum.
  8. Please don't do that. Find a good, yet cheap performance muffler (flowmaster has a good one) and have an exhaust shop swap it with the original. That is probably the best advice for someone on a budget.
  9. I'll be at the muffler shop on Saturday. Won't need a hotel room.
  10. How many miles are on the stall converter? Where / how have you been? Are you still in Lincoln?
  11. Good to year this story had a happy ending! I hope this is the end of your heath troubles.
  12. What is the address of the muffler shop? I think I will just plan on meeting everyone there. Also, what time do I need to show up? -Bigred1 you goin?
  13. If the battery was disconnected at any point during the repairs, the PCM probably "reset" itself. -No big whoop! When this happens it will simply need to relearn the all of the transmission shift trims, ect. You will notice your truck will gradually start to shift firmer and run harder (like before) after a few hours of driving. I don't think the dealership would touch the PCM for a catylitic converter replacement. You should be fine. You will see.
  14. No lady this time. I will probably make it for the morning and afternoon of the 25th, so will be a short stay for me unfortunately. Should be a good time none the less.
  15. Looks like I will be showing up on the 25th. Good idea Rich! I was hoping to get my exhaust worked on. (just needs a little cosmetic adjustment) I will also be picking up some stereo equipment from Chris. -Thanks Chris! Looking forward to seeing the gang once again.
  16. Are you still adding the ZR1 style window on the hood? Hope I didn't spoil any suprises at your unvieling...
  17. hmmmmm. Sounds like the bulb may have had a short . -Strange that these are not fused. I am using the Putco Pure LED dome light kit. no problems here.
  18. Great job on the write up, Stitches! Looks good.
  19. Another SS horribly disfigured... The rusty brush guard & Rhino lined fender flares adds a touch of white trash.
  20. Here's what I did. -Worked out well for me: I scuffed the rim of the duct surround with some steel wool / carefully masked the edge to be painted. Used Krylon Fusion (for plastics) satin black & laid down several thin coats. Then used a few thin coats of Krylon Fusion satin clear to finish up. Turned out better than new when finshed. Even power washed it a few days later just to see how well it would hold up. so far so good.
  21. Some of those cars should be framed at an art museum. Thanks for sharing!
  22. I'm not going to listen the Scottish guy until there is some type of substantial proof that Castrol is better than Mobil 1 or any other. I think I'll stick with Molbil 1 for now... I haven't experienced any of the knocking on cold startups you mentioned.
