  1. Yes! Gently pry the lens with a flathead screw driver on the end with the red reflector. (Be very gentle as to not mar the surface of the door) Once this side is out, the rest will follow. When your ready to go back, it just pops right in. I am using the Putco Pure led dome/map light set. (you can find these anywhere online) Also using an additional two Putco 194 LEDs for the lower door courtesy lights.
  2. Pretty sure this is the axle shaft. This happened to my 96 Blazer when I slid into a curb. Didn't even notice until somebody pointed this out when they were following me and spotted my gimpy wheel.
  3. Well, I'm using quite a conglmerate of bulbs really. For the mirror courtesy lights I am using these: I believe the ones you want are the 42X10mm with the 6 SMD LEDS (Cool Light) There is just barely enough room in the inside the housing to accomidate these (Perfect fit) Superbrightleds.com The license plate bulbs took a bit of shopping around and some trial and error. Since the LEDs do not scatter the light as do incandecent bulbs, it was hard to find something that would illuminate the entire light bucket. I found that you need an LED which incorporates a lens to scatter the light, but manages to fit within the small confines of the bumper light housings. I ultimately settled on these: eautoworks.com They are very spendy, however they do work perfectly and give off the same hue as the mirror lights above. I purchased a few others prior to these, and these are definately the best I've found.
  4. I put LED lights throughout the interior & exterior where I could as well. Mostly because It just looks cool as hell at night! They match the color of my HIDs and are much brighter too!
  5. I'll have some installed pics up tomorrow. ***UPDATED WITH INSTALL PICS*** Sorry, I don't have any before pics. As for the Ebay auctions, it looks like they come and go... Here is a link to the EFX catolog: Link
  6. Looks great! How are those General Grabber UHPs workin' out for ya?
  7. The Chevy dealer might be right about not reading the amp... Never thought of that, but makes sense. The stereo systems in these trucks can get complicated once you start changing things. From reading other posts about those who have upgraded their factory Bose amp to the Bose "Lux" amp, it does sound like reprogamming at the dealer is in fact needed. If that is the problem, should be an easy fix. Good luck with it!
  8. Found a pretty cool product for the SS... I wanted to retain the OEM look while adding style and help bring the tail end up to date a tad. Everything is very good guality (better than the GM light). Once I installed it I noticed right away that the bed flood lights are much brighter than OEM (uses std bulbs). The LED brake lights (10 LEDs in total) are MUCH, MUCH brighter as well. Overall I am very pleased. Just thought I would share my find in case others are interested. The lights are made by EFX and were purchased from Ebay ($47.00) Link
  9. The correct center console for an SS should look like the one pictured. I would seek out the original equipment style console If I were you. Sounds like the unit you have is not compatible. Why has the original console been removed??? From your description it sounds like you have a console from a GMC Sierra or and older 99-02 Silverado.
  10. I don't believe the console has to be from another SS, however, you will need one with the Bose amplifier / subwoofer package to make this work correctly.
  11. That looks awesome Chris! One of the best things I've done to dress up my interior.
  12. That's cute! They say that immitation is the biggest form of flattery.
  13. I believe this is the commercial you are referring to: Castrol Commercial Seriously though... I have wondered about this also. But I think I will stick with my Mobil 1 until somebody proves otherwise. Mobil 1 full synthetic has gone in all my vehicles since new. I think as long as you change your oil every 3,000 it will be just fine, however if you drive beyond this point I think this is where some oils outperform others.
  14. Well put. Does anyone else name their vehicles too? I do...
  15. Good tips... Does anyone know of any keyed lug nut that will fit on the OEM SS wheel and under the center cap? My biggest fear is somebody stealing my wheels. Thanks
  16. How true... By the way... Has anyone ever noticed that sex is always offered by the wife as a "present" for birthdays, Valentine's Day, Ect... However, If we were to make the same offer to them as a "gift" it would be seen as a huge insult. -Just one of my many newly married guy observations... I find that funny. On the other hand, I ain't one to refuse a gift. P.S. Dont forget to buy her chocolates.
  17. Link These were just posted not long ago. Maybe they are still for sale.
  18. Sold. PM me your address and I will get that to you. I can do Paypal or check if you perfer.
  19. Don't think so... Here is what i found on ebay today selling for no less than $75: There are also several places on the net selling these for about $95 - 100. (See links) Stylintrucks.com Sport truck direct.com Realtruck.com Since "Texas" is apparently selling these for $50 new, I suppose I will have to lower my expectations. Anyone with a resonable offer can take it.
