you should also notice the shift firmness down and the points higher. this is a cold start routine. once the tranny gets to the programmed temp, it will respond normally. It really protects the tranny just as the rich start protects the engine.

2 options, either run standalone without communication to any other modules in the truck, or use the exsisting computer and harness and step by step, you will be moding alot. Starters with the knock sensor system, then the throttle body, and alot of fitting. but definately doable. spending that kind of money, you would be better off with a 402 or similar engine. good luck, let us know and we're happy to help along the way.

did they check the air filter. If they did i would take the mass airflow sensor off and clean it out with some CRC MAF sensor cleaner. Litttle bits of dust can make the sensor read wrong and the changes in airflow will affect how and when the tranny shifts. hope this helps.
