  1. well i'm sorry you feel that way Art, but thx for the free post
  2. nothing listed in my area. Some are close, but nothing in the immediate area. Good find though.
  3. we have an idea of what caused the fire, but i cannot tell you guys until its certain and there may be a lawsuit pending. I can tell you that it was mechanical, not electrical and was not an aftermarked part. You guys will be the first to know when its certain.
  4. no it's not painted, never even made time to fit it or anything even think about painting it. I will try to get some pics of it tonight or tomorow.
  5. TTT! if i dont get any more interest its going on eBay, but i would like to see it go to someone on the site. Cody
  6. No we haven't determined what the cause was yet. I doubt they will be able to pin point it because the extent of the burn. But the truck is being shipped out of town for salvage auction either friday or monday and once it reaches the destination a rep from GM and a fire origin specialist will investigate the truck fully, to see if they can come up with anything. Talked to the insurance guy today and he said i should get a figure on what they're going to cut me a check for within the next 24 hours. State farm is my insurance co. I am living at a friends house right now, the smoke damage wasn't bad but bad enough we cant live there, and the smell is terrible. We have a restoration company coming in on friday to start going through the house and fixing EVERYTHING, and getting rid of the smell. All of my stuff and my parents stuff are saturated with smoke, and we cant live in the house for 1-2 months. Its really weird having my world turned upside-down and going from having everything to very little. its very humbling in my shoes right now. The funny thing is my parents are going to Hawaii on friday for 11 days and i get to stay here and deal with all this house/truck crap plus run the family biz while they are gone. I'm planning a little vacation for myself this comming weekend, i'm going to go ice fishing with some buddies and get wicked drunk. its gonna be great.
  7. New in original box, removed it once to make sure it was all there and has been sitting for 6 months. Since my truck burned up, i have no need for it, so it needs to go to a new home.
  8. No i really wish it were a joke. But i can tell you this Chase, my flames looked more real for a while, and were far more expensive... lol
  9. Jose, I am deeply sorry for your loss. Losing a close family member is one of the hardest things to deal with in life, but I know you're strong and will pull through. You're in my thoughts and prayers buddy.
  10. hmm... that sure would replace my truck nicely...
  11. thanks for the replies everyone. I filed a claim on the truck this morning and should get everything figured out in the next couple of days. Not sure what I'm gonna replace the truck with at the moment, probably a Duramax or a TBSS. The wheels on the truck were my winter wheels and tires. El Camino is in cold storage, not at the house so it is ok. my truck was the only one in the garage. (we were remodeling the garage so there was junk everywhere, and could only park one vehicle inside.) I'm gonna try to get some more pictures of the house and the truck in the daylight when i get a chance. Not sure what to do right now. just feel numb.....
  12. So I washed my truck tonight, drove it home and parked it in the garage. Talked to my parents for a bit and headed for bed. I was just getting my daily fix of SSS.com and my mom starts screaming my name and says "the house is on fire!!" I immediately call 911 and get the firefighters on their way. Then I realize my truck is in the garage, but decided since the smoke was coming from the garage, that getting it out was out of the question. So i sat and watched my garage/house burn with my truck in it until fire crews showed up and put out the fire. Luckily the blaze was contained to the garage, but smoke damage is throughout the house. Snapped a couple pics of what is left of my truck, i'm still in shock. It all seems like a bad dream. My truck was running fine all the way home (14 miles) and everything seemed kosher when i parked it. I'm pretty sure the truck is what started the fire, but I'm not sure what on the truck started it. what shit luck huh?! I guess the fact that nobody was hurt and the fire was somewhat contained are good, but it still leaves a sick feeling in my stomach. I had plans for the truck and was collecting parts for this summer.
  13. those look nice. My centerlines are sitting in boxes right now, waiting for summer to roll around, just like my truck, just sitting waiting for nice weather...
  14. yeah just the center one. I would probably smooth it before i sent it out so it doesnt say anything and then put a Vortec Max emblem on it when its done. Let me know what you think?
  15. Art, have you considered making a center engine cover? (the one with Vortec MAX on it or Vortec 6000) IMO that would look phenomenal! Just some food for thought... or PM me with a quote to wrap my existing cover with CF if your up to it. Every time i come back to this thread I like them more and more -Cody
  16. glad to hear she's making some forward progress. Hope she makes a quick and full recovery. Hang in there J.
  17. welcome to my world. Its been bitter cold here for the last couple of weeks. We had some high's of abot 36-37 and are now back into the single digits for afternoon highs. Not quite 90* difference but we're with you on the weird ass weather changes. This afternoon we had a -30* windchill but the actual air temp was around 4*.
