  1. The set-up they had on the show Trucks was pretty cool. It even had integration for Nitrous in the software programming. With the tuner, you could set the software to fire the solenoid at a certain RPM and at a certain throttle position all from the dash mounted controller. The controller appears to be plugged in at all times to the diagnostic port.

If you have high-speed, here is a link to a video of the Trucks episode:

  2. I was watching a recorded episode tonight of the new Trucks where they were upgrading the suspension and performance of an '06 SC F150 4x4. They installed a tuner made by Edge Products during the episode. I went to their website to read about the tuner and found that they are looking for gas test vehicles from Chevy and Dodge. They are claiming gains of up to 35hp and 50tq in the Ford application. One guy in the testimonials says that he dyno'd 21 more hp after the tuner was installed. Another guy claims a decrease in ET from 16.4 to 14.9 on a SuperCrew. I'm always suspicious of website claims, but do you think that these claims could be on the level given their history with working with diesels. :dunno:

  3. If you just hold it down the TC will be over riddin. Atleast in the rain it does :banghead:

Yeah, it will eventually override the TC, but not before the other guy puts some serious distance on you.

I was reaching for the TC button when the light changed, so I had to refocus on the launch. We barely made it to a stop before the light went green again. I guess I need to make it a habit to turn it off as soon as I start up the truck?! I just hate seeing that light on all the time. Kinda like driving around with the check engine light on to me. :banghead:

  4. Got in a race from a dig with a Nissan Titan extended cab tonight at a red light. He snorted at me as soon as we came to a stop, so I knew it was on. The light changed to green and I gunned it, only to get a quick bark from the tires and then reduced power while the Nissan is steady putting distance on me. Well, the ETC finally gave me back full power and now I'm playing catch up. We went less than a block before I had to turn off at my destination. I was slowly reeling him in, but had to let up to make my turn off. :wtf:

I hate that I have to physically turn off the TC every time that I turn off the truck and restart. There have even been a few times that the TC being on made a close call out of an otherwise normal traffic merge while turning from a side street into moving traffic. :banghead:

Anyone else have these issues? Mine is a 2WD, by the way.

  5. I bought one for my '06 SSS. I am happy with it. The only thing I can say negative about it is that it is a little more expensive than other brands on the market. The noise when you put your foot into it is not super loud. Just a nice uninvasive roar. Nothing overwhelming.

Don't expect a large gain from this mod. I think it did more for the "environmental" driving experience than seat of the pants! I just love the sound it makes when you bury the go pedal and wrap the revs out. :D

  6. My truck is an '06 and mine has never barked 'em in any gear except 1st. The shifts are way too soft for that sort of thing. I bought a Superchips tuner and while it does shift more violently on the 1-2 and 2-3, it still will not give a chirp on the up-shift. Unless you count the serpentine belt. :rollin:

  7. One day a guy with premature ejaculation problems went to a doctor. The doctor said, "Whenever you feel the urge to ejaculate, startle yourself." So he went out and bought a starter pistol.

When he got home, his wife was naked in bed, ready for him. So they got in the 69 position and started at it. Soon he felt the urge to cum, so he fired the pistol.

The next day he went to the doctor. The doctor asked him how it went. He said, "Not too good. My wife bit off three inches of my dick, shit in my face, and my neighbor came out of the closet naked with his hands up."

  8. Don't know if this is allowed here since it is not of a technical nature. This question is strictly for the forced induction folks. I'm just curious, how many miles do ya'll have on your trucks since going forced induction?

    How many trouble free miles?

Obviously, your gonna take somewhat of a hit in the reliability department. I would just like to hear some personal experiences out of curiosity.

I wish I was brave enough and had the green to do this for myself.

  9. The only complaint I have with my 2wd SS is the rear drums.  How can you label something an SS and give it drum brakes?  Otherwise I prefer 2wd:  Less weight, less parts to break.

Yeah, there are times when I want to go old school and paint the drums on my '06 red. Then I go, It's a f'in drum! Who wants to draw attention to that on a new vehicle?
