  1. Get people off of food stamps and walfare and I bet some Americans would do those $7 jobs in order to survive. My .02 cents.

Exactly! I remember when I was growing up as teenager working as a stocker in a local grocery. When you deal with people at that level, you see the bottom of the barrel types. It seemed like every week, these scum bags were figuring out ways to f' the welfare system. There were always notices going out to the register clerks to be aware of these new scams that these a-holes had come up with to beat the system. But most of the time you'd have some dillweed trying to buy cigarettes or beer with food stamps/WIC and then throwing a fit when they were told that these items were not eligible.

  2. i have to say one thing though, they do jobs for pay no american citizen would do . which in terms would say alot of todays business wouldnt survive without them as most are struggling now with the economy any how.

Not to start a war, but I've seen this comment before and am curious as to what these jobs are. I know when I was a kid, I did a lot of undesirable jobs for crap pay. I think that there are unscrupulous business people out there (not directed at you 04CHASE) that propagate this theory so that they can line their own pockets at the expense of the American public. Is competition really that tough, or are they greedy business owners that don't want to pay an honest days pay for an honest days work? I would be interested to see how these advocates for the illegals live.

  3. Thanks for the replys.

CoolBlueSS, when you say the sidewall is thicker, do you mean in height or do you mean they bulge out more?

Riddler, it looks like you've got a drop on your truck. I'm at stock height and don't have any plans to go lower. I'm wondering if the stock height will allow for a wider tire before any contact occurs.

03blueSSon22s I've got almost 39k on my original GY's, but I'm noticing a lot of hydroplaning when it rains. We don't see much snow here in N Tx. Occasionally some ice, but usually for a few days at most.

  4. Thanks for the reply, Fireman31. On every truck that I've owned, I always replace the stock tires with the widest tire that I can get away with and still keep the stock wheels. I always try to keep the stock heighth of the tire to keep the speedo accurate. I could've sworn that I read in here of a couple of people running 305 width tires, but I can't remember if they were on aftermarket wheels or the stock wheels.

  5. Has anyone put 295/50/20 sized tires on the stock SS wheels? If so, were there any clearance issues?

I'm looking at the General Grabber UHP's. I did a search of the forum for info, but did not get a definite yes from the search topics. Although the positive responses to the Generals are what helped me to decide on these tires.

Mod, can you please delete this topic: http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=46134

I worded the title wrong, but can't figure out how to edit it cause I'm a :yellow_loser:.

  6. OK, I've searched and didn't find a solid answer, so hoping someone can help me out. I'm looking at the General Grabber UHP 295/50/20 tires to go on the stock 20" SS wheels. I'm nervous that the tires may rub. I want to beef up the look with a slightly wider tire. Does someone have these particular tires (or a similar tire) in the same size on the stock wheels and do you have any rubbing issues when turning?

  7. I wonder how hard it would be to rig up one of the gas cap poppers from a vette so you can press a button and release it from inside the truck. Ive put em in before its pretty simple, just a solenoid and a cable thats like 3 feet long, Ill look and see- maybe I can do a writeup

The down side to that would be that they would use a pry bar to get the door open and you would be out the cash for the damage to the fender/paint which would be alot more expensive than the gas!

A really neat idea would be to rig up a shotgun to the filler door from inside the bed with a wire hooked to the trigger. When they pull the gas filler door open, boom! A load of 12 ga buckshot to the chest! :jester:

  8. If it's 2WD, it's the traction control. That s#!+ is gonna get someone killed someday. You pull out of a parking lot and go hammer down and at the first hint of wheel spin, its like someone turned the ignition switch off.

  9. Should i get the 80G ps3 or the cheaper one.

Just an FYI: I just did a bunch of research and ended up buying the 80 gig console. I read that the 40 gig console is not backward compatible with previous playstation games. The 80 gig has about a 70-80% probability of playing the previous versions games. The 40 gig does not have the chipset that allows for this backward compatibility.

  10. If you want an exhaust note that is loud outside and quiet inside, go with the Corsa Sport. I went through two muffler shop installs before the Corsa on my '06 and I am sold on the Corsa systems now. I will have these exhausts on all of my future trucks as well. They are that nice! The exhaust tip is the cherry on top!

  11. I had one of those Superchips programmers installed in my truck. Every time the tune was installed, it was about 150-200 miles before the tune was fully functional. The shifts were softer than stock until the PCM learned the new settings. Then the shift was annoying as hell. Always a harsh clunk during gear changes at low speeds. The high speed shifts were great, just couldn't stand the low speed shifts in stop and go traffic. The other bad part about the tune was that only about one in every 3-4 fillups would run without pinging. So, I'm saving my pennies for a custom tune. My warranty is up in 3000 miles, so I'll feel more comfortable moding the truck.

  12. I'm a watcher for now, too. The series seems to focus more on the human side of the story vs the movies focus on the Terminators. The terminators (Arnold and Robert Patrick) were the draw for me in big screen productions. Robert Patrick kicked butt in T2. The terminator bozos in the series have yet to impress me. Come off kinda dorky and third rate.

  13. Corsa all the way! I just scrapped my Magnaflow dual in-dual out system for the Corsa Sport system. My car pool buddies can't thank me enough. They can't believe how quiet it is at cruising speed vs the old Magnaflow. The Corsa is way louder than the Magnaflow from the outside. So far I've even picked up 1.2 MPG since switching to the Corsa. And who can forget those kick ass dual side-swept tips. Top notch product!

  14. I'll let some others give their opinions as to whether an extended warranty is a good idea or not, but Holy Cow, $3000 is a lot for an extended warranty.

I, personally, am willing to take the chance that nothing major is going to go wrong. My warranty on my '06 is up in 4000 miles.

Another thing you gotta ask yourself is, am I going to modify the truck? If so, the extended warranty will do you no good if they determine that your mods caused the failure.

  15. Found this after talking to a buddy of mine who saw something about it on television. Looks kik azz!
