HMM, well I'm sorta on a budget and since a tbtc (from what I've read) stalls to 2400 - 2600 from Firemans quote, then that might be my best bet. I know you can find them fairly inexpensive and pretty readily avaliable. Now if the tbtc stalls to 2500 avg, how much pickup/results would I really be gaining from going with a 2800 yank/PI besides another 200 -500 rpms?

Ya, I found that odd as well. So how high does the stock tc stall? I DO NOT tow at all so its not a problem. Performance goals are just bolt ons (still have LS1 fans, ASP UD pulleys & LT's to install) so nothing crazy.....YET Also, how high does a tbtc stall? I've seen some peoples opinions on it (cheap with good results) but others have said spend the extra $ on a yank or vig. Whats your opinions?

Well, I've decided its time to drop some more $ into the SS and my next step would be a TC. I talked to my trans guy and he suggested that a 26-2800 is not going to be worth the $ to install for my desired results. Now this is not race truck by any means but I AM looking for a higher stall. So he suggested going with a 3000 stall at least and adding a larger cooler. My question is how is it with daily driving. I dont know how to describe it but, when taking off from a stop, does it feel like the trans is slipping then finally grab. I'm basiclly just looking for words to describe how it feels driving it because after all, this is my DD. Plus, I'm looking at a great deal for a 3000 yank for like 350 with 5k miles on it so jsut got me thinking. Thanks

Like Vortec Max said, if you have a second ride,the burden isnt so bad on your wallet for gas. However, if the SS is your DD, which alot of members it is their DD then the story might be different.

I'd sell mine for the right price seeing as how I dont have alo sunk into it besides 2k for the trans (covered under warranee so no $ outa pocket). Everything could be sold from the truck and I'd get decent $ for the mods I have. I would sell it and turn around and buy a single cab with a LQ9 swap pushin some decent #'s and have plenty of $ left over.

Well, if they are LS1 fans, YES they will work, but only with a harness that will allow them to run (which it looks like he already has).

Sometimes it all depends on the driver. For example, I posted a while ago about my encounter with an SRT10 ram 6spd from a dig. Guy spun and I beat him until I shut down at about 75-80. Obviously, we know his truck is faster but it just comes down to the driver.
