  1. 2003 SS w/ 96,000:

    Rebuilt Transmission @ 50K - Lost 3/4 Clutch

Rebuilt Front Diff. @ 50K - Under Extended Warranty - Started Getting "The Growl"

Rear Diff. been growling lately ... prolly need to rebuild that soon too.

Replaced both Cluster & Intermediate Shaft around 68K before Warranty Expired.

Replaced leaking water pump around 80K. Flushed out Dex and replaced with Etheleyne Glycol.

Radio has some LED's that are intermittently out. Tapping the radio makes them work again.

Got some vry minor lifter noise, hardly noticeable ... some seafoam should cure it.

    **Still Have Original Brakes!!!**

Been an awesome truck, considering how hard I drive it. Mostly city miles; stop and go ... downshifting to keep from rear-ending people ... things like that.

  2. I want to do something similar ... but I want to turn the exits out in front of both rear wheels, with the Corsa Sport angle-cut tips pointing toward the ground.

What is the system you're using? I have to replace the true dual system I have, but I only have 1K to do it with ... I'm thinking of going with SLP ... but can't find any sound clips anywhere ...

  3. A friend of mine, and former ASE Tech recommended pouring it straight into the crankcase ... :wtf:

I'm still a little hesitatnt to do that ... but he says it'll clean just as well as pouring it into the PCV valve ... and it will vaporize as the oil heats up ...

I'm still unsure I want to put it in the oil ... I think I'll stick with the PCV valve ...

  4. I think I am sea sick now....

    :withstupid:

i just about had a seizure

felt like i was watching the blair witch project

    bad ass though

    :withstupid:

OMG! :puke::puke::puke: I think I just threw up in my mouth a little :jester:

    anyways that was awesome! :chevy:

    :withstupid:

Besides me getting sick from watching that, the z06 was sick.

    :withstupid:

Ugh ... that video was nuts.:wacko:

    Made me a little green ... :sick::puke:

Someone should have :idiot: that dude when he was editing that vid ... sweet cars ... hideous video.

  5. Ideally you want the cutouts as close to the collectors as possible, BUT you must be downstream of the front O2 sensors long enough so that they will not see fresh air between cylinder firings - if you put the cutouts *right* behind the front O2's then between exhaust pulses the fresh air from the atmosphere will rush back into the empty exhaust system and the O2's will see this fresh air and mistakenly report a lean condition to the PCM. So I would mount the cutouts a couple feet down-wind of the O2s, like near the position of the factory rear O2's.

    Mr. P.

If they're placed in the position above, won't the PCM generate catalyst efficiency codes?

  6. I could have sworn I posted this earlier today but I don't see it. OK here is the short version. New best time.

    60 ft. 1.93

    1/8 th 8.88

    mph 77.94

Also ran a couple of 8.95's and a 9 flat

    :omg:

  7. So ... been searching for different ways to get the internet deployed the the truck computer without getting raked over the coals ...

Best I could find was like 40 or 50 clams a month AND I had to buy add'l hardware. (PCMCIA card @ $180)

So ... I started digging around on my PDA phone & found that it has a CDMA modem ... so I played with it & got it working from my office computer ... for only a few hours ... VZW prolly shut me off when they saw I wasn't paying for the access yet ...

So ... only 15 clams a month to access their cellular broadband network, and I can use my PDA phone as the interface device ...

So ... here is my first official post to the SS forum sitting in the front seat of my SS.

Can't wait to use this more ... :seeya:

  8. I'm an ASE GM Tech at the local dealer, You'll never flush 100% of the old out, without complete teardown. It will GUM up when mixed. DexCool has lubricant properties that the green does not. I would highly advise not switching. There is no benefit one, way or another.

But ... I've also been advised by a GM tech that Dex destroys aluminum ... & I think if I keep a close eye on the pH level (NEVER less than 10) ... I'll be OK ... please advise ... he recommended flushing out & replacing with ethylene glycol
