Yeah I truely doubt GM would pay for a tranny rebuild when theres a supercharger sitting on top of the motor..
6'8" 300lbs, or 8'5 900lbs of solid muscle wont change any opinions.. lolPlus, why throw a POS stock tranny in there ? Take it to the toy shop and rebuild it! My 65E from the Toy Shop handled the Radix as good as Paris Hilton can handle a 10" bone

Both the Burning chevy and the HHR (homo hot rod) are sad pics to look at. The HHR could produce 500RWHP and I'd still feel
driving one. Like I said in a previous thread I had to drive one back to a dealership and I drove the backroads out of fear someone would see me.That gay icon thing is halarious... i need to re-use that one in that Gold Bond for the Boys thread...

lambo for me... here in los angeles ferrari's are common, lambos arent...
but did you know this fact? no two ferraris are alike... each one is custom ordered and built... and that is factory policy... (75% of my clients own them)

Seriously.. is Chevy killin the SS name or what? What happened to SS standing for pure muscle and performance.... and even it meaning something called 'Super Sport' .... well, then again lets no forget that when the 'SS' package came out back in 1961 it was just an appearance package for the Impala, and not for performance.. than later in the 60's they made it a high performance package. Maybe they want to go back to the whole appearance package thing.. who knows..
They need to only keep the SS package for the Blue Devil, the new Camaro, the Silverado and TBSS (but either supercharge it or put an LS3 in it).. that should be the only current model Chevy's allowed to have an SS badge on it.
Monte Carlos SS?
Cobalt SS?
Malibu SS?
Impala SS?
HHR SS?

Well let's break this down:
This is a truck website.
I'm a member on 5 truck forums.
Given that information, an intelligent person would no doubt come to the conclusion that the stickers are primarily being offered to those on truck websites who drive TRUCKS. And if you're going to compare apples to apples, then, yes, the TRUCK owners who purchase them are typically sufficiently capable of beating another TRUCK with a Hemi.
But if a person were for some ridiculous reason compare apples and oranges, say a much lighter SRT8 Charger or Jeep with a heavier truck, then obviously yes, the SRT8 owners may get a kick out of someone with one of these stickers. Then again they'd feel pretty DUMB if they were feeling all smug because they have a Hemi and a 5,000 pound + truck cleaned their clock.
The whole line of argument about what could beat what is rather a waste of time though given the fact that there is always someone faster, no matter what you drive.
Oh, and the stickers were ultimately made to appeal to the Chevy truck guys and to get a rise out of Hemi owners - no matter what the Hemi is in.
Final thought: The sticker says it will beat "A" Hemi. It doesn't say WHICH ones...

How dumb would you feel having a sticker like this on your truck, and a SRT8 smoking you?
Now if its a HEMI in a truck, sure.. but I am sure the guys with the 6.1's will have a chuckle when they see this sticker (i know i would) hahaha

I buy all your electronics at costco lifetime warranty. You can upgrade your product at anytime no questions asked as long as you have recipe. The will ask if you want to buy extended product warranty say no. I returned a portable dvd player that was broken after 2 years and they refunded the entire amount and I bought a better one for half the price. I also upraded fron a 27 inch LCD to a 32 inch for my comp monitor no questions asked and I also upraded my canon xt digi to a canon xti after 1 year!!
I am pretty sure that Costco has stopped that policy for electronics... and everything else possibly too. I think its only a 6 month warranty now.. sucks because that was the main reason I bought my electronic stuff from first if they had it for sell.
As far as the Xbox 360 redlighting problem.. mine just did it the other day.. hahaha .. then again I had it modded so I can play copied games (i have like 50 games burned) so maybe it was my fault

Everyone has their opinion. And the way I am reading your post is that you would rather put a less robust converter in that will no doubt fail vs. a converter that will last.
I am just confused. There will always be a weakest link in any project,...signifigantly reducing them is the goal. Having a converter that supports power way beyond the 65E's limits seems like a well chosen parts list to me.No I understand everyone has their own opinion, very true.. just like politics and religion, which is understandable
I guess i wasnt clear on what I was trying to say.. I am not saying its not a good idea to use a good converter in the tranny ... I always believe in using the best parts possible. I was just trying to say it might not be a good idea to put a good, expensive converter in a tranny that will probably blow up and take that investment with it. I was just trying to suggest maybe take the money that is being used for the converter, and put it into something more durable, and long term.
But I agree, everyone has their own opinions. My opinion is quit wasting money and band-aiding a temporary situation, dont put expensive converters in a tranny that can handle that much power. I guess if it was me throwing 10's of thousands of dollars into something, I would do it the right way. But Chase has definetely spent a lot of $$ on this truck, and I can see he just wants to kick back on the $$ now which is a smart idea. For the money he has spent on the truck he could have bought a Z06.. lol
Not to mention he probably wants to keep the AWD because of his new paint job.. an 80E would mean the flames coming from the front of the truck would be pointless as it would be RWD... lol.. I think thats the REAL reason

I would have to disagree. The PI converter is a proven piece and PI warrenties their pieces. Each converter comes with a FREE restall where it will be thouroughly looked over if either a blown tranny took it out ot the converter failed. Buying the best converter only reduces the variable of converter vs. tranny failure whereas if you use a cheap converter, you have the variable of a converter and a tranny failure. I learned this the hard way.
Okay so if the 65E blows up, and takes the converter with it.. they will replace it for FREE? I doubt it. I think that you would be screwed and have to buy a new one... that was my point. I think putting a PI converter in a 65E tranny that will be needing to hold almost 1000HP is like putting 20lbs of shit in a 5lb bag...

yeah it would just suck though with the 4.56 in both diff's . even more cash. i honestly dont have the money for the swap right now. but if i did do the swap it would take me a while because i would sell my entire motor blower setup to go with something insane.
Why would you sell this motor setup ? Isnt it built to run almost 1000HP with the NOS... that counts as 'insane' to me on a 65E tranny.... I think you are running a setup that needs the swap right now or its going to be in the shop more than the drag strip
Look at that guy Parish's truck... he never had a problem with the 1st gear ratio and he was approaching 9 second 1/4miles (or did he run one? i dont remember)
No need to sell your motor/blower setup.. thats an 'insane' combo right there. Hell, you were afraid to open it up or launch it since you put the motor in, and as far as you knew the tranny was ok. Sure the tune wasnt spot on... but still... you could have let it rip in the lower gears off the line without the AFR killing anything.. unless the motor was knocking like crazy
I am no fortune teller... but I bet as soon as you get this new converter in, tune the truck, the output or input shaft is going to explode. Maybe crack the cases with it....

a gallardo isnt very fast in the 1320 , i have seen them run and they can barely out run a stock gto, i think the best time i saw it run was a 12.8 they are top speed cars not 1/4 mile , espeacilly the lil v11 gallardo. put it up against a murcialago and youll have a different story.
Im with you on that one abotu 3 months ago (when I still had the Radix on the SS) I raced one in Mission Viejo from a dead stop.. I got him off the line by about 1.5 cars and by the time we hit 80mph (when we let off) he hadnt even caught up yet, but he was catching up... by about 100 he would have been side by side, and after that he would have been gone. At the next light the guy and his wife were very surprised a truck with 2 people and a huge FAKE TREE in the bed of the truck (coming back from the orange county swap meet) beat a Gallardo Spyder to 80.. hahaha.. but I know from a roll or on the freeway it would be another story... didnt seem like a fast drag racer .. i wasnt very impressed!
