  1. Yes thanks. That puts the H-D at 18.45 lbs per hp to the SSS 18.50 lbs per hp, pretty even to me. The H-D does have 425 lbs of torque while the SSS has 380. But I think a good hole shot should make the difference with two stock trucks.
  2. The supercharged H-D's are rated at 340 hp and 425 ft lbs of torque at 3250 rpm according to FordF150.net, so it seems it would be a drivers race with numbers that close. AWD will help the SSS and the 425 lbs of torque would help the H-D. Which truck is heavier?
  3. Stock pulleys is what he claims, I can't tell you what else. I visit most of the Lightning forums as well as the non-Lightning forums. It's fun to mingle with hot rod truck owners.
  4. Maybe he just has a lemon or is pulling lousy 60' times? I belong to a few SVT Lightning forums and it is rare for a 04' to run 14's. The record holder for a Lightning with a stock pulley is 12.99 by one of the members. Most members run from 13.3-13.8 or so stock and get into the twelves with a 4-6 pound pulley. I live close to Infinion Raceway so I'm going to take mine to the track this summer and see what it will do.
  5. The 1999 and 2000 Lightnings weren't as strong as the 2001-2004s. They look the same, but are different. They came with 360 hp and 440 ft-pd of torque and run low 14's with a top speed of 139 mph. The 2001 and up had a top speed of 147 mph and were rated at 380 and 450 and should run in the 13's unless driven by somebody who doesn't know how to launch very well. Of course conditions may cause times to vary.
  6. Go for it. Half the fun of owning a hot rod truck is racing it. You win some, you lose some, but having a good time is really what it's about.
  7. Here is from a 2003 H-D review: Also available for 2003 is a new Ford Harley-Davidson F-150 SuperCrew. It features a supercharged 5.4-liter Triton V8 engine with 345 horsepower and 425 foot-pounds of torque. Pretty close, it could come down to which is lighter.
  8. I got that 6.2 from a magazine article and was only putting it out there to give whitemax something for reference. I have never ran a H-D or another Lightning. I did have a SRT-10 quad cab try and screw with me in traffic once, but up to fifty he couldn't get around me and finally passed everyone on the shoulder after getting frustrated with me. My tuck isn't built, but it isn't stock either.
  9. I'm pretty sure that not all H-D's are supercharged. If I'm not mistaken, only the early year 02-03 ones were, but I could be wrong.
  10. Here you go. Below is the link to their site. If you have a good attitude they should welcome you. Good Luck! http://www.talonclub.com/
  11. A stock 02 supercharged H-D will run 0-60 in 6.2 seconds. Most of the supercharged Ford owners add a little bigger crank pulley to increase boost and can add a lot of power by doing that, cooler spark plugs and a tune. Sounds like the guy is just talking out his ass and has never run anyone. If he's stock and you are too, hope he smokes them out of the hole and you need to have a good run. Good Luck!
  12. Maybe the price of gas is keeping them in the garage. 10-12 mpg doesn't party anymore......
  13. I'm surprised, as they have a big Lightning chapter in Texas.
  14. You might have your hands full with Lightnings too. They run 13's stock, if you can find a stock one.

    454 SS

Maybe your mods helped out a lot. Below is a comparison of the 454 against the SSS. http://www.caranddriver.com/article.asp?se...article_id=6646
  16. Supercharge it and you'll be loving life.

    454 SS

Sounds like he's young AND stupid. Tell him you'll be willing to race as long as you get to honk the horn to start the contest. The race should be over before his truck moves..............
  18. With the price of gas going through the roof and the the push for high mileage vehicles, Chevy better hurry up before there isn't a market for hot rod trucks anymore. It's too bad, but Ford and Dodge have already come to that conclusion.
  19. Thanks. I don't get caught up in all that "my dick is bigger than yours" bullshit. I get tired of people trying to start fights because of what you drive. Just think how boring it would be if we all drove the same vehicles.
  20. Thanks. I was looking at Chevy SSS when I stumbled on it on the internet. After seeing it in person and then taking it for a test drive I had to have it. If Chevy would have put a supercharger on the SSS I probable wouldn't have bought it.
  21. Thank you...............
  22. Just because she owned a Chevy is no reason to call her mentally retarded. I kind of liked her old Chevy truck..
  23. That's what the trophy girl usually asks me............
  24. No........The early Generation I Lightnings' had 240 hp at the crank. Unless they were heavily modified, they are not even close to the SSS or the S/C Generation II Lightnings'. Kind of like the early Chevy 454 SS compared to the new and improved SSS.
  25. That comes after we win the race.............
