  1. That's awesome! Your 60' is amazing. Last night was purrfect weather for the drags (too bad I spent it at the hospital w/my 4 y.o. instead of racing... ) ps- time to change your sig
  2. Cali- your local Chevy dealer can sell you the bowtie center caps to plug right in. None of the 20's are lightweight but our brakes can handle it no prob.
  3. Killer torque numbers! Ohhh, the NOS is calling out to me... Which kit do you run and how's it set up, please?
  4. September 23rd should be better/cooler weather anyway. So that's my vote and I know for sure, I can be there barring a rainstorm. How we doing for trucks? Got 10 yet? I'm anxious to get back out to the drags. Just picked up my truck from Dez Racing, yesterday and it's haulin' azzzzz....buit that's for another thread. Teddy PS- Zane, I could probly meet you somewhere to grab that banner before the date. Or, you could actually ride shotgun and come along...
  5. The Pacesetters got popular since they started selling them last December/January because they are the only 4x4 LT option other than the Dynatechs and they are @ 1/3 the price. Also, the Dynatechs had a funky curve in their design and some guys were having issues with plug wires melting. Their new design is much better (looking) but I've only heard of a couple guys running them yet who've said there's no issue with the wires. But, they're still 3x the price of the Pacesetters... As far as gains with the LT's, I picked up @ 11 rwhp/tq on the dyno with them and the rest of my exhaust before tuning. After tuning it was up @ 40 hp/tq at the wheels.
  6. The Denali is growing on me. I like the new interior and the 6.2 option. The roof rack is gay.
  7. You aren't going to get away with that in a stock 6.0. That's probly not running in an automatic. If it is, you'd have to stall it up to 3500ish to launch it. Plus it's making power at 6000+ and a truck intake won't flow up there. WTH are you running in your truck that you can get away with that cam?
  8. I have a set of Chevy 20's mounted with Hankooks off my Tahoe I'd sell but the shipping would probly suck from Mass.
  9. Chevy Truck World says... Engine offerings include: 4.3L V-6 (LU3), rated at 195 hp (145 kW) and 260 lb.-ft. of torque (353 Nm). 4.8L V-8 (LY2), with iron block; rated at 295 hp (220 kW) and 305 lb.-ft. of torque (414 Nm)*. 5.3L FlexFuel V-8 (LMG), E85-capable with iron block and Active Fuel Management, rated at 315 hp (235 kW) and 338 lb.-ft. of torque (458 Nm)*. 5.3L FlexFuel V-8 (LC9), E85-capable with aluminum block and Active Fuel Management, rated at 315 hp (235 kW) and 338 lb.-ft. of torque (458 Nm)*. 5.3L V-8 (LH6), with aluminum block and Active Fuel Management, rated at 315 hp (235 kW) and 338 lb.-ft. of torque (458 Nm)*. 5.3L V-8 (LY5), with iron block and Active Fuel Management, rated at 315 hp (235 kW) and 338 lb.-ft. of torque (458 Nm)*. 6.0L V-8 (L76), with aluminum block, variable valve timing and Active Fuel Management, rated at 367 hp (274 kW) and 375 lb.-ft. of torque (508 Nm)*. 6.2L V-8 (L92), with aluminum block and variable valve timing, rated at 400 hp (298 kW) and 417 lb.-ft. of torque (565 Nm)** – exclusive on GMC Sierra Denali. The engines are backed by proven Hydra-Matic electronically controlled automatic transmissions, including the proven 4L60 four-speed automatic, high-capacity 4L70 four-speed automatic and a new 6L80 six-speed with the Sierra Denali’s 6.2L engine.
  10. Try In Motion Performance. His prices are reasonable and the owner drives a CCSB V-Max.
  11. Man, you can say that again! I'd like to own that prototype truck
  12. Was this the original prototype? I just came across it on Google. It's friggen awesome! http://www.autoworld.com/apps/news/FullStory.asp?id=327
  13. It doesn't look like there's enough thread on the stock ubolts to reuse them without the block. You'll need shorter bolts off a 2wd.
  14. Nah dude, I believe you. When I "built" mine on the Chevy site, I never opted for anything other than a CC. Good info, thanks.
  15. Yes and yes. Dez Racing in Seekonk, MA is the only place I'll let work on my toys. Don (aka SlowHawk over on tech) is the best builder/tuner around here for GenIII's and his tunes are custom road and dyno. My truck's there tonight and for the next few days getting lots of new goodies
  16. 2wd V-max's have 3.73's too. 4wd V-max's get the HD pumpkin w/ 4.10s for towing Superado, you're probly high 14's, stock. Stock vs. stock, Lightnings devour us all.
  17. Word is, stock manifolds flow well enough that shorty headers aren't worth doing. Long tubes improve exhaust scavenging and prove gains in low end torque. Our motors don't perform well at high RPM (due to intake manifold restriction) so unless you're doing a large cam and springs or high flow heads, it'd be a waste to buy shortys. Dual mufflers and tailpipes is all you need there. I dyno'd before and after my exhaust with the stock tune and picked up 7rwhp and 11rwtq with my config. Tuning brought it up +40 each at the wheels. There's no stupid questions, Newb. Welcome aboard, nice truck!
  18. If you pull the block you can use the shorter Ubolts from a rcsb (2wd for sure).
  19. That's about 15 miles away from me. All set with the salvage titles.
  20. Lights look good. Wish I could hide my antenna too but it's my 'warning' in parking garages.
  21. Dude, I had Flowmasters on my Tahoe which required turning the radio up to the end of the third bar just to equalize the sound on the highway. With the config I'm running now, I can keep the radio off and talk to my kids in the back seat with no issues at all. I'm so sold on the round Magnaflow's (which I call 'cannons') that I can't imagine ever using anything else. Both for quality and performance. And I'm a meticulous, prick
  22. crappy microphone, but you'll get the gist... click
  23. I run LT's -> cats -> 3" X -> 3" I/O 6x30 rounds -> turn downs behind the bumper. No resonance and completely quiet cruising but it sounds very deep at idle and when getting on it. The round Magnaflows have direct chamber through them so the flow's unrestricted at high RPM. This is the best exhaust system I've ever had out of a dozen V8's/muscle cars.
  24. I had a Whipple and wished I'd bought an intercooled Radix. IMO, for the money, I'd do a NA stroker over a blower. There's no replacement for displacement.
