  4. They are the same headers, but the painted ones will rust and won't last near as long as the ceramic coated.
  5. I found some on there for around $285, but they are the ones that aren't Ceramic Coated. Pacesetter (Black Painted).. The ones with the Ceramic Coating are going for $432. Pacesetter (Ceramic Coated) Hope this helps!!

  11. I was well aware, and prepared to run 93 octane in this truck. I always ran 93 in my R/C 5.3L. Mainly due to an 89 tune from Hypertech that caused a spark knock when I ran on 89 (NEVER AGAIN). I was just curious due to the fact that the website says they recommend 87 Octane in the LQ9. Just didn't seem right!! I will definitely be in contact for a tune once I get closer to coming home. I will PM you and find out all the details. Thanks Zippy!! Jay
  12. This may very well be true!!! Zippy, Thanks for the info. I sense a bit of "STUPID NEW GUY" in your reply. I looked up the manual online (since I am deployed and never actually seen my new baby or the manual in person). I guess the website is just screwed up because it lists the LQ4 and the LQ9 seperately and they are both listed as recommending the 87 Octane. Onto bigger and better things. I may be in contact with you once I get home for a custom tune. Thanks again. Jay
  13. I just bought my '06 SSS. Well my wife did, since I am deployed. Well she says that it is getting horrible Gas Mileage (11 MPG). I asked her what fuel she put in it...and of cours she responds with Regular. From reading the website I was under the impression that the LQ9 required 91 Octane minimum. I decided to do some research and the Chevy Site is claiming 87 Octane. Anyone have any thoughts on this?? It just doesn't seem right to me. Maybe a typo?? I wasn't planning on getting great gas mileage, but is this what I should expect from a 2WD SSS?? Thanks for the help!! Jay
  14. That thing is Crazy!! I bet you can burn the crap out of yourself on those pipes if you aren't careful!!
  15. I see that they make 2 kinds. Does the one on your truck have a rubber seal around the cover or is it paintable aluminum?? I had one on a '97 S-10 that I had, but I think it was a Slim Top. Do you know the difference between the Slim Top and the Fastback II?? Thanks for your help! Jay
  16. Looks good!! What kind of top is that and can it be painted??
  17. Congrats!!! According to my tracker I have 95 days remaining until I get to drive my SS for the first time. I feel your pain!! Have fun with your new truck!! Jay
  18. You can buy chrome one's just about anywhere that sells custom truck parts. I know for a fact that Stylin Concepts has them for sale. I just bought an SS bowtie from shopman1 through the forum. Jay
