  1. ARH kits bolt right up to the factory catback.
  2. 1-7/8 primary's are way to big for a 4.8. It will suffer some performance loss.
  3. The more I drive this truck the more I love it, it definitely picked 30rwhp, and I haven't tuned it yet. ARH did their homework, really nice gains. I have plenty of fast vehicles, ( 10 sec DMAX) so my butt-o-meter is pretty accurate. I guess I was frustrated when I made the first post, looking back the install wasn't bad. Just not as easy as I thought it would be. The performance gain makes the install worth it. I'm very pleased overall. Onebad
  4. LOL, they bolted right up, definitely did not slip right in. Just curious how did your passenger side header to in? From bottom or top?
  5. Asset I'm already tuned, but not retuned. My fuel curve should be really close. I do my own tuning, just haven't had a chance to get this one down yet. At least there is room to work on this truck. Compared to my dmax and vette this was fairly easy I guess.
  6. I WOULD do it all over again!! They fit perfect once bolted in, just getting those huge primary's and the big collector in place was tricky. 1-7/8 3 inch. The sound is amazing. I haven't tuned it yet but I can tell a small difference in performance.
  7. Catless long tubes sound great with the factory catback.
  8. Exactly the reason you don't want an aluminum intake tube. Aluminum transfers engine bay heat to the intake charge rushing through the inside of the tube. Plastic insulates the intake charge. Their is still some heat transfer but not as much as aluminum.
  9. These headers were a handful to install. If you don't have a lift, don't even think about it! The passenger side fought me the whole way. Drivers side was not too bad, just remove front drive shaft and spark plugs. Header will slide in from bottom. On the passenger side I took of the wheel and inner fender liner, as well as the coolant overflow tank. Slide the header in through the wheel well. We are about 6 hours in so far. Got to the mid pipes, well they fit but needed some work. Slip fit joint was not slip fit, ARH needs to adjust their dies, pipe needs to be crimped a little smaller. .005 would have made it much easier. I used a file to adjust the size some. All in all the actual headers fit perfect, I only had to zip tie the starter wires back. The mid pipes fit ok, but not perfect. Expect to do some adjusting. The sound with the stock catback is nice, with the cutouts open its insane! I would do it all over again. Key things: soak manifold bolts with penetrating oil for a few days prior to install, also soak o2 sensors, mid pipe to manifold bolts (these were tough), and band clamp on the cat back.
  10. Got them yesterday. I'm pleased with the quality, and that's saying something, because I'm a mechanical engineer and CNC machinist by trade. One thing I thought the primaries would be longer? How much rwhp will a set of these add to a SSS with tuning? 40? 30? Truck has CAI, headers, electric cutouts that bypass the stock muffler (truck has to be quite most of the time), and of course will be tuned afterwards.
  11. 1 7/8 no cats. Said they would ship in 5 days! Can't wait. Now I need to buy my wife something...
  12. Best of luck, Bad Ass Silvy. I don't post here much, but I always liked your posts. Always helpful. You seem like a class act man. Keep it up. Wolf Best of luck, Bad Ass Silvy. 13. Thoughts on college football? I believe someone will knock them out this year, maybe even a highly unexpected team. What do you think?
  14. Yeah doing all of that I can see 2k, actually I see more than 2k there. But you can do a cam swap with quality parts, for less than 1k.
  15. 1500!?!? for a cam swap!? I did mine with comp 7.4, ls9 springs, ls2 timing chain, and GT2-3 cam for 750 bones.
  16. What fuel line mods must be made on a 2003 return style system? Going to be making this swap very soon
  17. Hey guys what would you recommend as far as heads and cam for a tvs2300 jack shaft on a stock lq9 with full bolt ons. Not looking for a record breaker, but want something I can grow into. Should I switch over to l92 style heads? Or go with proven aftermarket cathedral port heads? Will the 2300 even work with cathedral port heads? I want a stock like idle, so I was thinking about a LPE GT2-3 for the cam? Also to throw a curve ball, the 2300 will be the last thing to go on, so I would like for the heads and cam to perform at least decent NA. Wanting to use the stock 6 rib setup, like I said, Im not looking to break records here. I want a solid street machine (for now). Thanks, Wolf
  18. This good enough for ya....bro. Been a member for a long time..... Have yourself a great weekend.
  19. Wow, so we have Assholes and dumb asses. Great thread ruined by a jerk off. Dude, seriously your jerk response derailed this thread thanks....
  20. The dynatech system will bolt up with the stock exhaust, right? May just go that route.
  21. I want to ditch the stock cats, but keep the stock muffler and tail pipe. I do not want a loud ass truck.
  22. In the picture on their website, the mid pipes look very long... I don't know if the picture is accurate ( an actuall silverado ss system) or not. But, yes I know the headers don't bolt to the muffler. But it looks like these come with mid pipes, should of spelled it out in the first post better. I'm lazy what can I say
  23. It's in the title, ARH= American Racing Headers
