  1. Good lord! Glad you were able to help him out!
  2. Yeah it took me about 8 hrs dealing with everything. Getting the old exhaust out was what took so long. My buddy was ready to chop it up with the plasma cutter.
  3. How long did the totall install take you?
  4. Can't you get a reman LQ9 from GM for like 1900 bucks?
  5. A bunch of slap dicks are getting together to install some goodies on my truck tomorrow. Hopefully I can break 8.3-8.4s at the track next weekend.
  6. Those are badass. Humm got some thinking to do.
  7. I'm sure some of the know it all slap dicks around here will correct this, but I rev my truck to 6500. I have heard of people going as high as 7200 on stock motors, but I have no personal experience revving one that high.
  8. Can't wait for a video with the 2300! Nice man.
  9. In closing, any slap dick can spend 30k on a truck and only run 11s. Mods close her down. She has run her course.
  10. ^already got 3200 stall and injectors! IMO TC should be one of the first mods. Again though, that falls out of the context of this thread. A lot of what you mentioned is common sense. I can't, and won't idiot proof my threads. Kinda like replacing cylinder heads, it goes without saying you need new head gaskets lol. I have big plans for this truck. I don't plan on selling it ever sooo. But in the future I believe I'll just keep my mods to myself. Waid
  11. Mind listing al your mods? I'm on mobile version so sorry if they are in plain sight lol. Those are very nice numbers!!
  12. What pissed me off is, he basically acted like I cut corners and did it wrong..... I have posted nothing wrong. I haven't said anything that will screw up a newb. If you want to replace the like pump and timing set then by all means go for it! My motor doesn't have enough miles on it to justify it. That list is the absolute minimum parts required to swap in a healthy camshaft. Basically just trolled my thread. Posted absolute useless garbage.
  13. I wasn't directing that towards you. I appreciate your advice, you help the forum out. That post was for sprayed. Sorry for the confusion.
  14. That comes down to the individual. I saw no reason to replace mine. I laid out all the parts required for the swap. Nothing more. I gave the members here my experience with it. I do see your reasoning, but in my case I just didn't see the need I replacing it. I'll say it again cause I few of the "older" members, well actually just one, can't seem to grasp the concept, this is what I did. That's the parts I used. In the end, it's up to the individual.
  15. Nope just didn't waste my time with them. Another great post from you. Keep dropping those Bills, I'll keep picking them up.
  16. What a useful post. Thanks sprayed, Your input is always appreciated.
  17. ^ oil pump is not necessary. My truck has 60k on the clock. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
  18. The price is quite high lol. Gotta pay for all the engineering. Again, I'm no expert, I'm just a guy trying to make his truck fast. And researching everything till my eyes bleed.
  19. Just to follow up: This cam had no advance ground into it. Power really comes in at 4k. Airflow through engine climbs dramatically after 4k. Motor obviously holds more timing with this cam over stock. I'm running 26 degrees with no trouble. Still doing my own tuning, and I'm no expert for sure. I got KR at 23 before hand. Idles great at 700 rpm. Has great sound too. Just notes here. Will update as I figure out more.
  20. I hear what you are saying, but I have done extensive research and the TFS heads constantly outperform the other guys by a significant margin. I'm talking 6.0 LS motors here No set of ported factory castings will out perform those heads. They have numerous improvements in the combustion chambers, valve angle, intake and exhaust runners. We run Brodix and AFR heads on out boats and they are the best on the market for that. Again I fully understand what you guys are saying, and people have to mod according to their goals, but numbers don't lie. Trickflow is king of the hill for production aftermarket heads on 6.0 motors right now.
  21. My goal is to be as fast as possible, for cheap!!. Right now I have 3k in mods. My ARH long tubes were by far the most exspensive mod.
  22. Did you install it? Trans can stay in truck right?
  23. That's a very good start, and not terribly exspensive. So when/if you change plans you're not out a load of cash.
  24. If nothing has changed since he tuned it, then yes I believe your. TC is trash
