  1. Okay im a pretty hands on guy but never dont paint/body work (spay can is as far as I go) I payed $500 to have by bumper painted a wile few moths ago and it got messed up agin a week later, also my mirrors have some pretty bad damage due to bugs, Im thinking about trying to paint this all my self and figured I might as well try to smooth and paint the mirros them self not just the cap, but how hard is all this if you have never done it and dont have someone to give ya some tips? Do you think Ill just end up making them worse? :idiot:

not really too hard but you might not get too far without ANY experienece. i would check out a book or read online about begining painting.

  2. he won't be running 200 shot for long.......that big of a shot wil grenade a stock motor :nono:

an LQ9 can take 100-125 shot and be okay (as posted by someone a while back, Mr. P.?)

There is a world of difference between handheld programmers and dyno/PCM tuning. I originally had a Hypertech, but it was too mild for my taste. My SSS hauls @ss now with my Wheatley tuned PCM. I only removed 50% of the TM, I don't want to kill my trans too soon. :chevy:

what did the wheatley tune run you?

  3. Do these work with no issues on an SSS? No ballast/current issues? TIA!

no issues at all. we have put this kit in my truck and prolly 5 or 6 of my buddies vehicles. no probs at all. takes about an hour to install if yopu take time to hide wires and ballasts. you cant even tell i have hids with my hood popped at all until i turn them on :D . there is not cuttin or splicing of you factory wiring harness at all. true plug and play kit.

  4. I'm looking to convert to discs in the rear. The only real reason is, I just like the way they look better with slotted and drilled rotors all the way around. Does anyone have a parts list I will need or have any insight on this job? Thanks for the help....Sam.

  5. RaceMesh is going to do a Mail-In option for you guys...that will cut the cost dramatically!

He will be announcing the Mail-In pricing and procedures in early August, so keep up on his online store for details!

Here are some shots of the finished product!

I hate you, you get that grille and you have that view.. lol. how much is your truck lowered?

  6. could you take a picture of how they look factory red cuz im wanting to get some for my truck but mines blue and i dont want chrome or tinted ones. please and thank you

sure man, ill get one today. they are almost identical in color to the factory reds. if that is what you are looking for, you'll love these. ill get a pic up later today. i just got home and am about to sleep for a little. :happysad:

  7. actually 4100k is the solor closest to sunlight so it would be your brightest light possible with the most lumens of output. when you go higher you get more blue or purple tint. this is why most oem manufactured hid lighting systems( audi bmw benz etc) are using the 4100-4300 k ) the reason they appear blue is because the projector they use has a bluish tint while still producing white light.

here is a good read on hid's

    http://hidplanet.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2080

    yep, yep, yep.

6000K is very bright (at least twice the light output as your factory halogens) and still has the blue/purplish escalade coloring to it. great kit someone has to want this :tumbleweed::chevy:

  8. If you're going with DER you'll want DER Real Stuff (red bottle) and DER Shiney Stuff (blue bottle)

The red is a polish/cleaner/wax and the blue is a sealant/glaze, so after you clay 1 pass with red and then 1 (or more) coats of blue and you're done.

If you don't go that route look into Optimum products, they have great polishes and you can finish off with Optiseal which so far has been one of the best products I've tried, very easy to use and the protection lasts a long time.

If you'll be using a DA polisher theres nothing better (IMO) than Adams Polishes Fine Machine Polish followed up with their Machine Super Wax... the stuffs a little temperamental and may require a follow up wipe down with a mf cloth about 8-12 hours after application, but the end results are AMAZING.

    sweet, thanks for the help.

  9. screw a bug shield. i used 3M paint protection film. you can barely even tell its on there. ill get some pics for you tomorrow if you would like. goes on just like you would tint a window. it isnt permenant and supposedly never yellows. i love it and would get on the highway without it.

  10. Whats sinister?

Thanks guys  the color is Graystone Metallic. I think I might be the only one on here with that color? I'm gonna be color matching the rear bumper pretty soon. Its 4x4 and needs to still manage at the desert so I won't be lowering it though. And the wheels are powdercoated.
