i had never done a cutout before until this weekend. i used a precision though. took me a total of maybe 30 minutes and i couldnt be happier. looks really good. i didnt too much care for the bolt over i had on my last truck. all personal preference i guess.

and to make it worse, thats the airraid for trucks with clutch-type fans LOL.
what is the main difference in the two?
*EDIT* just looked at the box and its a part # 200-186 and it does say up to 06 with 6.0 and elec. fans. so i think its the right one... hopefully lol.

I'm lookin for a couple of good pics of a Silver SS with the Intimidator spoiler and/or one with like a 2/3 or 2/4 drop. Thats the last two cosmetic mods i plan on adding and would like to see them before i spend the cash. Thanks, Sam.

yeah i was gonna ask why you said "there is not a volant for my 06 SS" (yeah right!!) i check the price on the air raid and it's only a $30 diff in price. man thats a total joke i hate stuff like that! but thats okay about a week ago i was parked outside my friends house from 6pm till 10pm he lives in a gated neighboorhood and when i got back out to my truck my tailgate was gone!
damn that sucks, i dont know what i would do. i would be out for blood lol.

Who told you they don't make Volant for 06 SSS's? ANy who that looks good take some pics after install.
long story short, a buddy (not anymore) who works at a local wheel shop took $550 from me for a 5 piece cutout billit grille, volant and down payment for rear 315's tires for the mustang. i got a airaid intake, only the main upper grille which is a bolt-over and no tires. there will be an ass whoopin in his near future when i can find him. he told me he got me the airaid bc volant didnt make an intake for my truck. i knew it was bs and told him so but i couldnt return it since it was a "hook-up" price. not too much of a hook-up when you get effed though lol.

well after basically getting screwed into buying an airaid, since "there is not a volant for my 06 SS" (yeah right!!) anways, i thought i would make something good out of it. so i took the airaid raised letters and production numbers off the intake tube. i also removed ALL of the texture which isnt easy. much time went into this but i love the way it cam out. anyways its silver birch metallic to match my truck. what do you guys think?

precision sells the stainless wire mesh main grille for an 06 but no bumper peieces for the SS bumper. they do sell the cutout for an 04 F-150 and when i measured that part on a buddies truck they were almost the same exact size. im just not sore if the contour would be near matching. i was thinkin about buying the u[pper for my truck and lower for an 04 f-150 and trying to make it work... does anyone have any experience or insightful suggestions?

Yea I want to make sure that I have all of the stuff before I make any plans on getting the tune, but honestly knowing zippy's gonna tune it is one of the only reasons why I am even attempting this

I was too lazy to track them down, went local and got the 918's. SO check that off the list and the parts counter near me got the cam swap kit, pick it up tomorrow.
oh yea...gotta pick it up the cam/push rods tomorrow in monroe
get a video or sound clip after the instal. i want to hear what it sounds like. i am deciding on what cam to do for my sss.

amazing truck. man i wish i had the cash, i would buy it. perfectly modded. how noticable is the cam at idle? do you happen to have a clip of the way the cam and exhaust sounds?

you could also swap out an 06-07 grill/hood with the 03-05. i may do this at somepoint when i got tired of looking at my hood since i havent seen any good looking aftermarket hoods for the 06-07.
no way dude, your truck looks perfect as is. gotta love the HD hood
btw, if you get an 03-04 you gotta go blue, otherwise you gotta go silver
