  1. Well I have a 04 Silverado LS Ext Cab, 4WD. I plan on lowering it and putting a SS frontend on it, grill and bumper. Do all years of SS's fit a 04. There is a wreched SS at a local salvage yard and thinking about buying the frontend off of it for my truck, but I think it's a 05 or 06, will have to call them to make sure but thought I'd ask here first before I waste my time with them.

Any help or suggestions would be great.

yeah it will fit no problem. if it is an 06, the grille is a little different in the way it looks and bolts up. also on an 06, the hood is taller in the front but again that will just be different in the way it looks. it will work fine. get the body cladding too and rear bumper/cover if its usable. seats and guages too while youre at it. but to answer your question, yes, it will work easy.

  2. sure you're not bumping the button when you lock/unlock your windows or raise/lower your windows? i only ask because i've done it on several occasions. not comfy on a 90+ degree day. :uhoh:

positive. i can sit there and just watch it cycle through the diff. settings.

is your climate control set to auto?

i dont know. would that cause it?

My mom has an 06 Tahoe that does something like this. If it starts doing it I restart the car, that usually gets it to stop.

yeah i tried that, it just does it again for me.

  3. My seat warmers will turn on by themselves. Sometimes they will cycle through the high-med-low and stop on any random level by themselves. Anyone else had this problem and how did you fix it? Also, how warm is the bottom supposed to get because im not sure if it works. The back warmer will get pretty toasty but not the bottom.

  4. thanks for the help guys. i got some belltechs from a buddy for free. they were for 2'' drop so i trimmed on them and made them for use on the second hole from the top. repainted them and stuck em in there. they look like they came like that now, and lowered it right at 1.5'' which leaves my truck sittin dead level. couldnt be happier :flag:

  5. one of the ones at north texas nissan is not an SSS just has a bumper

yeah screw the fake one. i personally know the owner of that dealer. they almost had a cammed and highly modded intimidator ss, but they didnt wanna pay enough :yellow_loser: . awesome dealership to work with.

  6. my truck doenst have the garage door opener in the upper console and was wondering if i could just get one and put it in for it to work? i see the ones on ebay with the three button right behind the two circular lights. would that work?

  7. Does anyone have a front stone deflector on their hood? I previously had one of these on my truck and it disrupted the airflow over the windshield and made a "whistling/flapping" noise. My quess is it created a negative pressure over the windshield gaskets and caused them to lift up when driving over 50+ mph. Other members have experienced this problem also.

i drove my new 06 ss home that i bought yesterday from northern oklahoma to the dfw texas area and heard a wind noise the whole time when i was going over 50. sorta sounded like my windshield was crackling like you described. it has one of those stone deflectors on the hood so i hoped that was it bc i was kinda freakin out that i just paid 28k for a ****ed up truck lol. guess ill remove that right now. im gonna do the clear bra kit next week anyways..... hope that solves my issue.

  8. i picked up my 2006 silver birch metallic ss yesterday and its a 2wd. i want to level out the rear. what is needed to level it, a 2'' drop shackle? also what brand is better, DJM or belltech? thats the two that summit sells lol. any pics of truck with them installed would be appreciated. thanks.....sam.

  9. It would be borderline too high if it had half the miles. 25K is extremely high for an '06. It's not even AWD. I only paid $27,500.00 for my '03 when it was only 3 months old with only 3K miles and it was loaded AND AWD!!

Which is horrible resale. Call me crazy but the owners of these vehicles control the market. The cars have shitty resale because the people who have owned them sell them for nothing; mostly because they don’t know any better, they’re uneducated, or hard up for cash. This is typical of most GM owners. I could go on for hours about the system and statistics, but I won’t. Most places like Kelly blue book attain their info from auto auctions, whether it is repo auctions or whatever. Is that a system you would like to base the value of your car by?

Time is not a concern for me, so I figured Id price it competitively (accounting for mileage, but not the modifications) with those found on autotader and ebay. I buy and sell vehicles by at least two a year, and I personally never use kbb to tell me what a vehicle is worth. I don’t expect to sell it to anyone here either. And before anyone flames me about controlling the market, take the supra for instance. GM would have great resale if it wasn’t for the people who own them. Remember that when you go to sell your car.

Actually the BUYER controls the market with any used vehicle. It is only worth what someone is willing to give you for it, not what you THINK it is worth because you are the seller. It sucks, but it's reality. Get attached to your truck, you might have it for a while.

this is true. you could put it up for sale for 100K if you wanted and no one would ever buy it, but if someone were to offer you 100k for it, then it would be worth that (to the buyer anyways). i am very interested in the truck, the mods are perfectly done and exactly what i would do to it myself. hell, i even prefer a 2wd livin in texas. i would consider buying it, but the price is a little steep for me considering the miles. beautiful truck though, no doubt.
