  1. Heading home the other night 1431 north of Round Rock. Two lane, 65 speedlimit, and a light here and there. Some kid pulls up next to me with his c(rap) blaring, all his window down and gives me a rev. I punched my fun (TC) button and stalled to about 2K. Light goes green and he got a small jump while I was turning them over. Caught him at 30, walked up to 70 with about 1 length on him. I back off, and he keeps on running. The thought crossed my mind since we were essentially in the middle of nowhere, but I didn't (thank goodness - keep reading). About 2 minutes later Wilco Sheriff's dept comes FLYING by me and running up on him. Saw them pulled over at the highway intersection ahead. Better him than me! Taken a few hemi trucks, but this was my first 300. Sure wont be the last. Happy, safe 4th to everyone! Regards, C~Dubya
  2. You got that jump in hp w/ cam alone???
  3. Good Kill! I'm in the same position as you, small town and lots of people wanting to run. I might go 1 out of 10 times, but I killed a SRT-10 in my VHO a few months ago (check earlier posts) because the guy behind the wheel didn't know how to handle the power. The reg. cabs are all stick and the guy I was racing didnt throw it into second very quick, so I surged on him. Some clown in a hemi durango was giving the business at a stoplight yesterday, and instead of running to 110 or 120, I stomped his ass to about 65, and backed off. Next light he didn't even look over at me - must have heard me laughing my ass off. Be careful out there and have a Merry Christmas! C~Dubya
  4. I was hellbent on getting an Avalanche, even joined their forum site. After putting 240K on my 95 5.7 Silverado, I decided to stick with Chevy....after all, Ford and Dodge are........well......ford and dodge. Anyways, I had a subscription to Sport Truck Magazine, and some guy wrote in to the editors blasting them about not covering this sleeper Chevy (the VHO or B4V option package). I scoured the internet for about a week, and FINALLY found the option code. I emailed a few dealers, told them what I wanted, and explained that if they didn't know what I was talking about, to not bother getting back with me. Two dealerships came back with located VHO's. One was a black/black leather GMC on a showroom floor somewhere in La., the second one black/cloth LS in Dallas. Since this is a company truck, I decided not to push my luck and took the cloth LS. I figure, what the f*ck, I'm 40, single, and like smoking people....this is the truck for me!
  5. About 30 minutes northeast of Austin. Longhorn Country!
  6. Nice kill! I get that 'how old are you crap' too. I usually answer, 40 on the outside, still 19 on the inside!

  10. Nice Kill! I'm still looking for one for a real race. I love beating kids!
  11. Looks great Tony! I just have a two word suggestion: BLACK BOWTIE! CW
  12. Had no idea they were that fast. According to Wikipedia: Performance Power: SAE 215 hp (2003 model), 230hp (2004-2005 models) The '03 models did not have the updated injectors that come with the mopar stage 1 upgrade. Torque: 245 ft·lbf @ 2400-4400 rpm (2003 model), 250 ft·lbf @ 2400-4400 rpm (2004-2005 models) 0-60 time: 5.3 seconds (Car & Driver) Rev Limiter/Redline: 6000 1/4 mile time: 13.8-14.2 seconds (various magazine reviews) 1/4 mile speed: 98-103 mph (various magazine reviews) Top speed: Manufacturer claims a top speed drag limited to 156mph, although many enthusiasts have claimed Mopar Stage 0 through 2 have been able to exceed 160mph with some modifications and there have been many stage 3 capable to around 173 mph[2].
  13. I have a SLR type body digital camera (not a tiny one) and I simply supported it on top of the center of my steering wheel with one hand. Mind you, I found the smoothest, straightest road I could, but I did always have 1 1/2 hands on the wheel. I just noticed the 5500 shift point, thanks to you guys. Should I contact Brian at pcmforless? I'm thinking about adding a cam, so I might wait, but now ya'll have me thinking...... CW
  14. It looks like the shifter is REALLY long in those trucks. I had a few standards when I was younger, and I cut them shorter, and re-attached the knob to get a shorter throw. I'm with you on the investment part. I still have 30K left on my 100K warranty, then the gloves come off. I use this as a daily driver (company truck), so I want it drivable, so I'm saving/toying around with head/cam first then radix afterwards. BTW, you have a really nice truck!
  15. I came across a single cab SRT-10 Friday in town where there was no place to run, but I did talk to the guy for a few stoplights. He confirmed that all the single cabs are stick, then I asked him if he had a hard time hooking it up. He said on the street it was hard to keep hooked, so he likes to go from a roll. I asked him what his best time was and he responded with 13.2. Rght before I had to turn, we were going about 30 and he blasted through first, and slammed it into second. THIS guy knew how to shift, and that thing LAUNCHED. Note to self....don't expect much against one of those from a roll.
  16. I'm still kicking myself, because later that night, did a 0-120, but didn't hit the video button. Gonna be on here soon, I promise. CW

    Mustang Kill

Great Kill! My girlfriends not to keen on racing, but sometimes I just tell her to 'Hang on for just a few seconds'.
  18. Lots of guys on here talked about it, and I found that the truck stays in first a lot longer. It's a blast to roll around town doing 30-35 mph in first.....the thing really launches when you nail it.
