replaced my idler and pittman arm couple months ago after same symptoms you were describing.

the shell is painted sitting at my friends shop. motor/trans are built sitting in my garage. still gathering parts for the interior and trim before it goes back together. as far as gearing goes, ive read from a couple of others on a different forum about going to 4.30's or 4.56's to offset the long first gear in the 80e.

i think it looks good....id rock it at stock height or lowered.

your signature says you have 305X40X22 but your wheel post a few days ago said they were 45 series. im running 3 inches of drop up front with 40 series and i can go lock to lock with no issues. as far as the rear springs...yes they are stiffer than stock. you might try some air shocks in the rear....read of a couple others running this setup well.

i plan on it when my 65E breaks down but who knows how long that will be.

ive been told rearend gearing is critical in doing this swap to compensate for the longer first gear.

guy's the racemesh is a cutout. the material is top notch. the guy runs his business out of his garage and did a mock up for 06-07 silverado classic grills some time back on my truck. they were in the process of expanding to a bigger location but this was months ago and i havent heard from him since. riv

welcome to the club! i sold my supercharged dakota to get into this SS and it too got horrendous gas mileage not that the ss is any better, lol.

87 Ford Ranger 2wd....hand me down for high school....rolled it shortly after starting college. funniest part was flipping it back over and it ran like a champ the next day.

yeah Interstate 5 sucks for bugs for sure. love the dropped reg cab look. i think you could just paint the center section of your grill also.

where are you located? might have a buyer for the motor if your on the west coast.
