  1. Can't wait to see it all put back together. You pic your wheels out yet?

Me too, I'm super excited! I know what wheels i want but I'm just going to keep the current ones until i do a swap to make it a 5 or 6 lug, but that's not going to happen anytime soon. My biggest concern is getting her back running and put back together so it's drivable. Then I will start thinking about axel swaps etc.....

  2. Its starting to come along

The frame and engine are going to be painted very soon. Then the body, fenders, and hood will be put back on and my buddy will be able to deliever it to me.

I have also completed re-painting all of the under hood parts that we saved. I have also completed an entire spreadsheet of parts I know Im going to need to starting getting her into running shape.

  3. Maybe it's my pads, but I often clean my wheels between whole truck washing. I wouldn't say that they ever get truly nasty but they quickly get dirtier than the rest of the truck. Still, the only way I knew to deal with it was the metal polish because soap, (Vehicle soap), and water wouldn't cut the dust. The Wheel Cleaner is like magic in comparison.

I think that they put a good bit of emphasis on the smell of their products. They all smell pretty good.

It's been a while since I watched the tire shine video. Does it leave different levels of shine depending on how long you leave it on before buffing it?

I've got several of their foam blocks and a couple of the grip pads. Thanks for the tips.

Nope you dont have to buff it off. I just spray it on to the applicator and wipe on the tire.

  4. Thanks for the tip on the tire shine. I have been using their VRT for tires which leaves a low sheen that I like OK but I have wondered about the new Tire Shine. I'll give it a shot.

I agree that Adams stuff is very good. I haven't been disappointed in any of their products so far.

If you do get some Tire Shine, make sure you pick up a couple of their black hex grip pads, or some of their little foam blocks.

Also the video with Adam showing everyone how to use the tire shine shows him spraying it directly on the tire. I have found that it works better if you spray it directly onto the applicator pad. Just like any other tire shine, if you get it on your wheels you will have to clean it off, especially on painted wheels. I never have any issues getting the tire shine on the wheels when i spray onto the pad first.

  5. I was wondering when they were going to finally do this. To me its a no brainer. They can charge whatever they want and weathy people will pay it, and they only have to sell a few because the profit margin is redonkulous.

And as far as a new SS goes. I hate to be a downer but Its never going to happen. The post-bankruptcy GM has no plans on creating special edition vehicles for an extremley niche market, unless they can charge a ton for it. For GM to justify making an SS they would have to be able to make a huge profit on it, and not enough people will pay that premium for a Silverado. An Escalade is a different story and I have a feeling that the only prople that are going to buy a Escalade V would be Pro Athletes, and Rappers

  6. I'm still newbie to SS's but I'm pretty sure that's not true. The advertising information for the ISS seems to imply it has upgrades over the SS but it's just poorly worded IMO; it seems more to me that they're explaining the upgrades over a regular Silverado. As far as I can tell the ISS vs. SS differences are purely cosmetic.

The intimidator is slightly lower than the regular SS, and it does have "performance" suspension with a stiffer stabilizer bar up front. I bet 99% of people would not be able to tell the difference.

  7. There are not huge differences between the years, and the Intimidator does not have really any major upgrades. Personally the only really cool things the intimidator has going for it is the rarity, and the wing.

I personally like the look of the 03-05's better than the 06-07 but thats just me. I also would never even think about owning an SS that was not AWD so the 05 1/2 + does not interest me as much. In 05+ they offered a sun roof which i think is cool. In 05 they also offered the SS with less options for those wanting to save a few bucks (cloth seats, non-auto climate control, no stearing wheel buttons, etc....)

In a perfect world if I was to buy another SS I would love to get a fully loaded 05 with the AWD, Sunroof, and all the other options. My 05 was AWD, had leather but It did not have the steering wheel controls, auto climate control, or sunroof.

  8. A few more teasers:

Sounds like my friend is almost done with all the major panels. Hopefully he will be able to start on the cab and frame next week The cab was the only place with rust so he has a decent amount of patching to do. The frame just needs to be steam cleaned and re-painted, and he is also going to go paint the engine while he has the cab off.

Hopefully he will be done in the next month or so. Then I get to transport it 300 miles and start putting her back together.
