  1. I have high flow cats if i take them off will i throw codes? Thinking off losing them lol

If your o2 sensors havent been programed out then yes when you take the cats off you will throw codes. When I took mine off a long time ago they didnt throw a code for 1-2 months. Eventually they did and I finally just had them tuned out.

  2. I was wanting to replace mine with red LEDs. If you look on superbrightleds.com I'm pretty sure they make a resistor or something that will let the led turn signal blink. If you are going to do a regular filament bulb though it should be fine. They take the same 3157 bulb as reverse and such.

  3. Lol I was just answering it the way I read it. I see what your saying now though. Just don't use the Y that comes with the headers if they come with one. That's all. Sure you figured that out by now but just putting it out there.

  4. I showed my wife and she says "WELL YOU WANT A NEW HOOD ANYWAY DONT YA"

Yeah I bought mine with a dent almost in the same place suck bro. But hay your wife might be on to something 

Wish my wife had that kind of attitude toward it. She thinks everytime I buy something it entitles her to a new piece of clothing or shoes. I would say forget the dent though. For the money people spend on apprearance, they could be putting that into go fast parts. I understand not everyone is like that though. Figure pulling all my little dents and dings and painting will be the last thing on my list unless I recieve a big hit from some young chinese girl ont he phone or an old lady not able to see over the wheel. Sucks though bro. I know how you feel, going out and noticing some new ding and its like WTF!

  5. Up Close. Mic picks up like shit.

Further away but its so loud the mic still gets a little meh.

Cant wait till I get my headers. Going to be obnoxious :peelout:

I have Stock header, No cats, 2.5" dual pipes, Magnaflow Xpipe, (2) 14" Magnaflow Magnapacks, Magnaflow 45* rolled tips.

  6. A TR5ix is an iridium plug. So I would need to gap at .040. I think I'm just going to stick to what the manual states. :yellow_loser:

Edit: I searched long and hard before I bought my plugs. I have seen the TSP but thank you for posting that. I guess 04 is when they changed plug type. I'm sure either gap would work but for reassurance of not having to remove them I will stick with the smaller.

  7. But in my manual it says to do .040 which is what Chevy released a bulletin saying a couples years back. There was controversy over this on other forum posts with guys that had manuals saying .060 gap. My 2006 I guess has an updated manual to the bulletin and says .040 for every size motor in our trucks except the v6. The TR55ix was the plug with .060 pregapped. The TR5ix is a .040 pregap. Just putting it out there.

  8. the front and rear speakers are off the head unit. the sub is MTX 10"and amp im assuming is MTX because its an enclosed unit. ( the amp is inside the sub box).

Ahh I see. I don't mean to be rude but there is not much tuning wise you can do with that. Amp should be tuned to the right frequency already since it has came together. The only tips I can give you is to turn the frequency for your low pass higher. Like 80 or so. Not going to get to low of notes out of that 10. As far as coaxials (doors), I would have recommended component sets. Sound is so much better out of them. If your head unit is also controlling the frequency on those I would say play with it while playing the music you listen to the most. You will also want to turn down the low end of your eq on the head unit since we don't want any popped door speakers. I always play with mine at a low volume until I figure what all sounds good and then crank it and readjust settings. As I said before, your system is on the lower price range and you get what you pay for. No offense and hope this helped a little.

  9. I thought the stock thermostat was 195*??

You will be fine with the 160* thermostat, and yes you can run it without a tune until you are able to get one. 5 gallons of DexCool? Thats a bit much don't you think? 2-1/2 gallons or so pre-mixed should be plenty....

I said wtf also when I got it. Supposedly the manual says 16.?? Quarts. 4 quarts to each gallon. 4.?? Gallons needed. Please correct this if I'm wrong lol. I would love to get some of my header money back.

  10. Looking for more input. Already leaning towards doing it. After reading a few other threads, one in particular that zippy posted on, saying the trucks with factory e-fans turn on at 227 and that the cooling system does all the work unless it gets too hot. Does this mean I do not need to retune for a lower thermostat?
