Black bear did tune it for no cats. It only did it for a few seconds than hasn't done it since. At the time I was going around 100 on the interstate. Replacing plugs and wires this weekend then hope it never comes back. I looked at my codes through efilive and nothing is there other than stupid vent solenoid and some speakers since the wires are chopped and to to amp. ::shrug::

Wow Ty. The MSD wires and NGK plugs in my Sig are still in the boxes. Was going to put them in this weekend. I guess it is that time.

My CEL was flashing while I was on the interstate. I have no cats and just got my BBP tune a fee days ago. Didn't do it before. What gives?

Ok i decided to keep my truck as i got off on my last ticket..Right after i bought the truck i put a magnaflow catback on it and now i want to put headers on it longtubes with no cats. BUT i want to use my cat back i have now that hast the two pipes but all the headers i look at go into one. Help me out on what to get. The trucks a 06 sss 2wd.. thanks guys
If im understanding this correctly, your saying that all the headers your looking at only go into 1 pipe? Maybe your only looking at one of the two headers? Each side has 4 cylinders that go into one pipe. Making 2 headers and 2 pipes.
Any of those listed would be a great choice. This thread might be of some help Header Sticky. Headers are something people ask about A LOT. The info is in the search button.
Part number for the Pacesetters...since these are what I will be getting. 70-2265 (painted) or 72c-2265 (ceramic coated).
Part number for the 501-1310-6 that is through obxracing.com (stainless steel)
Part number for the Dynatech Supermaxx 715-84110
Part number for the ARH 1 3/4 inch primaries GMTE34NC and 1 7/8 primaries GMTE78NC (both part numbers with no cats)

Are your door speakers amp'd? Or just what's off the head unit? What model sub and what model amp?

Congrats on being a huge post whore!

Bump for pics. Anyone. Silver truck or silver birch metallic.
-
Illegal to not have them in Florida. With no emissions though who cares.I run no cats and most places will take them out and strait pipe them. Just not going to get a receipt for that work. Same thing with front windshield tint.
-
Wow. I didn't know they are that cheap. Getting me one of those.

She said it has fogs...where?!
That place is not too far from where I stay. Dont see any SSS around here except for 1 thats by my work.
-
I cant find it anywhere and was looking @ smoking the tail lights, headlights, and third brake light, and throwing some black rims on the truck.
Truck is a Silver Birch Metallic Vortecmax.
I dont want to do the mods and not like what it looks like. Anyone have any pics or an opinion on doing this it would be appreciated. Thanks!

That engine bay looks pretty damn clean.

When I installed the new one and added site it said that the site (Silveradoss.com) was running an outdated version and should be updated. Could this be the issue rather than the taptalk?
-
Maybe a squeaky shock?
Edit: fixed issue. Was a stupid loose tail light...WTF lol

Looks great! Grats

I have recently accumulated a squeak from the rear driver side of my truck. It happens when I drive but also when I am stationary and start the truck or bounce on the rear bumper. I am thinking it is my leaf springs. My grandfather advised me to spray brake fluid on the leaf springs to lubricate it a little. Thought that could be kind of messy. Wanted to know if you all have any opinions on what it could be, how to fix it, and/or how to lubricate it. TIA, Chase.

I should have beat it. Looked up the specs afterwards and was disappointed. Just got my tune back from black bear and I can't believe this was not the first thing I did. Now traction seems even worse. How can I get a better launch other than staying out of the peddle a bit?

Back in high school I had a friend with a GTI and he put some focal components in. They sounded great. Costed him a pretty penny just for one set though.

I don't see why a duralast would not work. They have a lifetime warranty as long as its on the same vehicle. IMO I would get a higher amp one than stock.
-
I have the Aem Cai and encountered the same issue with the radiator hose. I also got a little 1/2" gap on mine also. Still is uncomfortable knowing its right up on it.

24 here and I've had my vmax since it had 10 miles on it back in 2006.

I can see not changing it if you live somewhere up north. But if its hot as shit all year I would think its a good idea.
160 Degree Thermostat
in General SS
Posted · Edited by cb2big4u (see edit history)
My tuner said that he wouldn't recommend any lower than a 180* thermostat. That there was no benefit. I have already bought the 160* thermostat through summit racing, 5 gallons of prestone dex-cool, and some royal purple additive. What are your thoughts? Should I go through the trouble of sending it all back or say f*%$ it and do it?
I do live in Florida and it gets pretty hot and humid down here.
