    Forget the fall, tuning will be finished this weekend and maybe hit the track Sunday night if im lucky, i have been playing around on the streets at 17psi, this vid was about 1/2 throttle...

  2. Definaltey agree...my tuner is the one who suggested pulling timing at 160deg. I thought that sounded high thats why Im tryng to get some info and opinions on this issue :cheers: How will I know, before its to late, that pulling timing at 160 is damaging things? Will I hear pinging/knocking?

     

     

    he will see it knocking in the scan...if you hear it detonating thats not a very good thing, specially with boost...i would take his advice on the timing issue only if he will cover a new motor for you lol

  3. it also matters what you total timing is and how much boost you are running and if you have meth on it, i start pulling timing from mine at around 100° running meth at that....i start it pulling 1° and end up pulling a total of 7° in the 150°+ tables...basically you should let you tuner do what he does, you start telling him what to do and you will blow up your motor...having that little extra hp isnt worth $4-5k is it?

  4. On a plus note...found out my T76 is a ceramic bearning turbo and not a journal bearing like i thought it was...thats a big plus for me :D

     

    yeah George as soon as i touched 9psi i pissed mine off and started leaning at 5000rpm...was making great power though!

  5. lol tell that to the truck...8psi 10.0 afr no meth it made 470...walbro 255's are only good to about 600hp...going through the stall and th400 with 20's kills some of my power.

     

    Fuel is no longer a problem, i put a bosch 044 pump inline and from there i ran -8an lines to "Y" into each fuel rail, then from there exits the rail into a Aeromotive FPR and a -6an return line back to the tank...i have seen 20psi with 10.3 AFR and meth...no worries about fuel anymore.....

     

    I have learned you cant base on truck off another...to many variables in things...my pnp heads...vic intake and other small things help the setup make the power with less boost...whats you setup...turbo size etc...?

Latest is i put a new I/C on it the other one was killing the airflow out pretty bad and even with running 100% meth i was still seeing 150° IAT's which is crazy...i put it on the dyno saturday and the more boost i made the lower the power went, so i decided it's time to freshen up the turbo and took all the hotpipes to the powdercoaters...should have the turbo and hotpipes back in a week or 2 and then going to take it back to the dyno.

So i sent Terry my rad cover with a special request for a Clifford to be put on it and i must say it looks very nice....anyone wanting to add a little custom touch to there engine bay really needs to check him out, i have a few more pieces i will send to him real soon, just gotta make the dyno day Saturday and then he will be getting my electrical box and prob some turbo piping.
