SSoCal Posted January 16, 2005 Report Posted January 16, 2005 what does everyone think about the whipple sc? i know in the past everyone had a problem with the fact that it wasnt intercooled but i guess now it's "liquid intercooled." was there any other cons associated with the whipple? is magna still the way to go?
vette dude Posted January 16, 2005 Report Posted January 16, 2005 what does everyone think about the whipple sc? i know in the past everyone had a problem with the fact that it wasnt intercooled but i guess now it's "liquid intercooled." was there any other cons associated with the whipple? is magna still the way to go? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> well, if it is intercooled now, it should be the way to go. It will make more power than a radix, and it is more efficient.
styleandspeed Posted January 16, 2005 Report Posted January 16, 2005 The "liquid intercooled" claim is the same thing that they have been doing for years. Their extra injectors are supposed to "chemically intercool" the incoming air like alky injection. Aaron

vette dude Posted January 16, 2005 Report Posted January 16, 2005 soooo its not the way to go?? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> if it was intercooled, it would be teh new hottness, but its still old and busted ATM...
zippy Posted January 16, 2005 Report Posted January 16, 2005 until whipple proves to have a real intercooler, i wouldn't use it.

diggler_d Posted January 17, 2005 Report Posted January 17, 2005 i have a whipple on my ss with the rear injs ( liquid intercooling ) not the old style with the injs after to blower and i love it as soon as the snow melts off the track i post some times
dcairns Posted January 17, 2005 Report Posted January 17, 2005 There are a few folks here with Whipples, and they have all been pleased. But if you live in a neck of the woods where it gets hot, I would go for the Radix.

zippy Posted January 17, 2005 Report Posted January 17, 2005 if all out power is a concern, i'd go vortech or procharger first. a whipple will usually without problem put down good numbers at the track, but there is no cool down time when you're driving on the street...
NateZ Posted January 17, 2005 Report Posted January 17, 2005 If your not going to up the boost past 6 lbs, ur pretty safe with the whipple (with a custom tune and bigger injectors, no whipple computer or extra injectors) but it seems like your going to want to up the boost for some more power/speed, so if so, don't go whipple. Nate
00z71sierra Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 I'm running the Whipple with 9 lbs of boost right now and no problems. I did need to upgrade injectors, dump their sorry excuse for a CPU and go with custom tuning. 00z71sierra
