2bseen Posted October 23, 2005 Report Share Posted October 23, 2005 Went to Mong, Al track to a track day. I run all motor 3 times and 3 on the bottle. First run was all motor spin the tires till 3rd gear, and ran a 13.5. I was thinking I broke the transfer case b/c I could see the black marks on the track and it wasnt going anywhere. I was running the crome 20s that I run on the street and checked the air pressure and it was 38#s in all the tires. I lower the air to 30 each and run a 12.77. I lower to 28 in rear and run a 12.76 at 104 mph. I go back to the line and run on the bottle. First run was alot of driving to keep it off the wall, run a 11.88 at 117mph with a 1.75 60ft. When I came back around the starter guy tells me to let out next time it is that out of control. I lower the tires to 28 front and 26 rear. Run a 11.68 with a 1.77 60 ft. The 3rd run I change the shift down 50 rpms, I was hitting the rev. limiter b/t shifts. I run a 11.49 at 117.29 mph with a bad 1.73 60ft. I know now it will run 11.2s with good tires, my new heads9been on back order for 8 weeks) and more tuning. I did get my new cam in friday and semi tuned at 11pm b/f we drove 225 miles to the track.
