KoreySS
Theoretically the 2wd will get better mileage, however it is too minimal to even use it in the decesion making process. Make your decesion based on needs and pros/ cons of AWD vs. 2wd. -K- Edited August 4, 2006 by KoreySS (see edit history)

06VHO
my 06 2wd gets 14mpg all city or 21mpg all freeway. That is when I baby it around town or set the cruise control at 70mph on the freeway. when I hammer it, it is much lower.
SS_bnoon_SS
My '03 AWD SS gets about 14-15 around town and about 18-19 interstate. Of course that's with mods and a tune too. I used to barely get 15-16 interstate... If you do a lot of traveling, get a 2wd if you don't need the AWD winter capabilities. Simon
Both trucks will suck gas but I love the AWD, plus I need it for winter. The AWD will defenately get a better resale value. The all whell drive will also give you that neck snapping launch

Of course the foot goes down to the floor quite a bit more than it used to too.
ChevySSandChevy8.1
The 2wd will use slightly less gas, but how you drive the truck is very important.
