kelleyperformance
thanks, i will definatly try that. the maggie one is also made for a ford, so no worries i will go try that, but do you think i should take an inch out of the belt because of the 2.8? The Breeze
I run a gates belt part# k061110 but I have the 100m Idlers so that may change it a lil bit but yeah I would shorten it up a little bit if yuo didnt from the maggie supplied belt that maybe the problem with the tensioner its probably bottoming out and just snapping try putting the belt on at the auto parts store parking lot and they should let you bring them back in until you find the one you like mine has just enough slack to get it on good luck on getting the problem straitened out. kelleyperformance
yea i use that same exact belt now, so we will how this works. i definatly had too long of a belt, i just never thought to shorten it. for some unknown reason, my maggie came with a 3.2" pulley. this blows because i want a 3.4 to tow with..... havent been able to find an aftermarket billet 3.4 either. i had to go to like weston to find a stupid NAPA, and the belt was only 4 bucks cheaper than the tensioner. Bowtie70SS
I think the problem is that when the belt stretches or if a belt which is too long is used then the tensioner bangs on the stop and snaps the head off. I broke 2... the first when I wound it up in 1st gear and let off the gas(never do that) and #2 because the belt wasn't on right. #3 I believe was from a stretched belt. Since I installed the 145a alternator and reused the 110" gatorback I have had no problems. If I break another one I'll be getting the Napa model. kelleyperformance
yea thats what i have finally concluded.... the dayco belts are the quietest from my experience, but they stretch the most. i got the gates(napa) belt, its a 111". so we shall see what happens now..... and dave, each time the tensioner has hit the stops.... Outsource
whats up mario Just reading up on your progress. I've been having dreams of the Maggie. Trying to figure out how much out of pocket it's going to cost me to get it done. We'll talk about it off line.
