12'SROCK
Well I though it would be helpful to everyone that has questions about performance torque converters and their characteristics if we posted up technical information on our torque converter. Please post some information on your setup Brand: Precision Industries "Vigilante" Size: 9.5" Single Disk Stall Speed: 3,800 RPMs Brake Stall: 3,400 RPMs Flash Stall: 3,000 RPMs RPM Drop: RPM Drop between shifts at WOT 650 RPMs Video: Engine Mods/Power Adders: Bolt-ons, 6.0L, CAI, LTs, Exhaust, Cam, 3800 Stall, 4.10s, Tune. 60-Ft Time: So far 1.8 Notes: This converter is a blast to drive but not for the weak It requires a bit of throttle to get going but not a lot like some of you would think. The best way to feel for a stalled auto is to drive one and get the feel of it. I think its not bad for a DD, I drive my truck around town a lot and it does pretty good Edited May 9, 2010 by WICKEDOWESIX (see edit history)
blackbeast ss
Brand: Precision Industries "Vigilante" Size: 10.5" tripple Disk Stall Speed: 2,600 RPMs Brake Stall: 2,400 RPMs Flash Stall: 2,600 RPMs RPM Drop: RPM Drop between shifts at WOT ~1,800 RPMs Notes: This converter is badass it fells alot like stock until you get on the throttle you better hold on,when it flashes it makes some sick smokey burnouts the lock up on the vig is a beast the hole truck shakes when it locks over all i love this converter and will definitely buy again
hossram64
Brand: Precision Industries "Vigilante" Size: 9.5" tripple Disk Stall Speed: 3,200 Brake Stall: 3,000 Flash Stall: 3,300 RPM Drop: RPM Drop between shifts at WOT ~1,200 Power Adder: Procharger 12psi, Long tubes cat delet, Wheatley tune, Meth injection, P&P 80 mm TB, Shift Kit, Corvette Servo, Alum Accum pistons, Bigger tranny cooler Notes: Best investment I made really notice huge difference. If your not use to driving with a stall takes some getting use to. Once it locks you take off like a bat out of hell, I have Awd and I can roast all 4 tires easy. Also price was good alittle less the 900 brand new. I have no 60 ft time yet hopefully I will this spring.

Krambo
Brand: Precision Industries "Vigilante" Size: 10.5" Triple Disk Stall Speed: 2,800 RPMs Brake Stall: 2,500ish RPMs Flash Stall: 3,000 RPMs RPM Drop: RPM Drop between shifts at WOT ~1,800 RPMs Engine Mods/Power Adders: Radix / 2.8; Cam; LT headers - full 3" exhaust, dual Magnaflows, Methanol injected, FLT LV, all the bolt-ons. 60-Ft Time: 1.604 Notes: The best converter for a Radix'd 6.0L IMO. Upgraded when my Yank 2600 exploded, noticeable improvement in launch and lock-up. Money well spent. I will post up my 408 set-up results when I am satisfied...converter is coming out in about a month! detjoe
Brand: Custom single disc, built by local trans builder Size: 9.5" Single Disk Stall Speed: 3,600 RPMs Brake Stall: Flash Stall: RPM Drop: Video: Engine Mods/Power Adders: 6.0L, L92 Topend, Livernois Stage I L92 cam, Stock airbox, LTs,Stock cat back, 3600 Stall, 4.10s, Tune. 60-Ft Time: TBD Notes: I had the local car club recommend a goo 4L60 builder and had him do may trans and converter while I had the truck apart. I told him the mods and he put together the converter to meet my goals of a nice 60' time. W/O tuning for it I got .2 off at my 1st tnt of the 3600 stall. I am still waiting to see the 1.7 I am looking for but I feel its there. Drives good, given the extra pedal and loss of milage. Launches hard. I need to go beat on it and fill in the rest of my info:) Edited December 27, 2009 by detjoe (see edit history)
shadowsniper3006
Brand: TCS products out of Canada Size: 9.5" Single Disk Stall Speed: 3,800 RPMs Brake Stall: 3,000-3200 RPMs Flash Stall: 4,100 RPMs RPM Drop: RPM Drop between shifts at WOT ~1,200 RPMs Engine Mods/Power Adders: Bolt ons, heads, cam, flt level 7 trans, N/A 60-Ft Time: 1.633 best, couple of high 1.6's, most mid 1.7's Notes: launches very hard, softens the part throttle shifts due to high stall. High stall requires tunning so you don't kick codes. Not as good lock up as PI but gets pretty good 60 foot times. TCS hit the stall speed on the head Edited December 29, 2009 by shadowsniper3006 (see edit history)
detjoe
Please keep this thread limited to stall info THAT YOU ARE RUNNING. it wont help a noob if he knows whats inside. This is a primer, once you decide to get a converter you will contact a vendor and they will get technical.

chpspecial
Brand: Precision Industries "Vigilante" Size: 9.5" Triple, maybe 5 (I can't remember) Disk Stall Speed: 3,200 RPMs Brake Stall: 3,600-3,800 RPMs Flash Stall: 3,200 RPMs RPM Drop: RPM Drop between shifts at WOT less than 1000 RPMs Video: In cab 3800 stall 3600 out side drive by baby 3200 lauch Engine Mods/Power Adders: STS water to air intercooled, 6.1L, Cam, 3200 Stall, 4.10s, Tune... 60-Ft Time: 1.7? ss454327
Brand: Circle D Size: 278mm Stall Speed: 3,200 RPMs Brake Stall: 3,000 RPMs Flash Stall: 3,700 RPMs RPM Drop: RPM Drop between shifts at WOT 1,400 Engine Mods/Power Adders: CAI, ARH LTs, Exhaust, shift kit, servos, madtune 60-Ft Time: 1.83 Notes: Drives like a truck with stock 3.73 gears. A mechanic drove my truck a couple weeks ago and was floored when I told him not only did I have a stall but a 3,200 rpm stall at that. He said "It drives great, I couldn't tell it had a stall at all." Honestly the AWD SSS is a bit touchy on the throttle and this smoothes that out perfectly.
